Capítulo 7: Chapter 7

The House of Black and White is a temple in Braavos dedicated to the Many-Faced God. It serves as the headquarters of a guild of religious assassins known as the Faceless Men are notorious for never failing to make a kill. It sits alone on a small island in the lagoon of Braavos. Although it is easy to access the island by boat from anywhere around the city, the island is usually deserted.

The sole entrance of the temple is a door, one-half dark ebony, the other half a pale Weirwood, thus making one black door and one white door. The House of Black and White. Once you enter past the door you'll be greeted by the interior of the House which features a central sanctuary with a large pool in the centre filled with water, at least a liquid that looks like water that is. The atrium is lined with statues of many gods from many different faiths, from across both Essos and Westeros. Specifically, they are gods that represent death and the unknown This is the place where those who are suffering come to for the release of death.

Aslan found himself standing in front of the giant doors of the House, despite all the preparations he believed would be sufficient he knew better than any how dangerous the place he was intending on joining truly was. He found himself questioning his sanity for the tenth time today as he gripped the coin in his hand with a vice like grip.

He took a look at the iron coin in his hand one last time before taking a deep breath and knocking on the black door of the House…

Aslan POV:

While I waited for a response I wondered if I might be brain dead to be coming to the door of one of the deadliest groups I know of, would they even take me in. Shit, I can't even negotiate with these bastards if things do go wrong, this group of fanatics only answer to their damn god so there won't be a chance of negotiation if I do fuck up. This is a shit plan; fuck it I'm leaving…

Before I could turn and walk away, I heard the bolt that held the doors locked slide open. The door opened ever so slightly as a face I remembered from the show greeted me, it was the same face that greeted Arya when she first came here. Well shit, guess I'm going all in, I slowly raised my hand as I presented the iron coin to the man and spoke in perfect Valyria.

"Valar Morghulis" (All men must die)

There was silence as the man just stared at me standing there with coin in hand, for what felt like an eternity the world seemed to stop as nothing moved. There was just defining silence. After two more eternities or maybe three the man finally moved, taking the coin in my hand and looking it over. When he seemed satisfied with what he saw he looked to me and tilted his head in acknowledgement before speaking.

"Valar Dohaeris" (All men must serve) his voice was just above a whisper but in the stillness of the world it sounded louder than a thunder clap to me. And with that the world seemed to resuming its noise and bustle as the silence was filled once more with the liveliness of the world.

After he spoke I released a breath I had no idea I was holding in the first place and before I could speak the man had disappeared back inside the House, however he had left the door ajar. Taking it for an invitation I made my way inside and followed the man through the corridors of the House and into the atrium where the man I had been following stood next to the dark pool of water that only seemed like death to me. Silence descended between us as I kept my eyes on him, I didn't dare take them off him especially since I knew what the men of this House were capable of.

After he was sufficiently satisfied with making me sweat and slightly shit myself he finally spoke. His voice came out even and calm sounding like an aged priest of a temple causing any caution I held toward him to fade, "What can the House of Black and White do for the young First Prince of Westeros and heir to the Iron Throne and how is it that you came to possess that coin?"

I froze when I heard his questions, they weren't beyond my expectations but I'd really hoped they wouldn't know who I was during our first meet. I looked into his eyes and I knew that my answer would decide my fate, thinking about it I guess I may have just killed myself. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before looking into his dark brown eyes.

"I found the coin in my basket a year ago when I was performing in the Capital, I knew not what it was for until a Braavosi merchant explained that it belonged to this House. He also taught me the words. As for my reason for being here… I've come to learn."

Looking at him and gleaning what little I could from his stoic face I could tell that he was surprised by the last bit I had to say as his eyes widened ever so slightly but for the rest I knew not if he believed or if he actually cared. I really hoped it was the later since I knew that compulsion would not work on the man standing before me, at least not yet.

He peered into my eyes as though he was trying to see my very soul as we stood before the pool of water in silence. There was no one else in the atrium but the statues of the many gods from different religions that I could only assume was the ManyFaced God in different form. Although it was only the two of us I could feel the eyes of the statues staring at me, almost judging. It was a long while before he spoke again, brining me out of my musing.

"Very well then. A boy will learn and a boy will become no one before he leaves."

I breathed out in relief looking down at my trembling hand. It took a while for me to regain my former cool before meeting his eyes that never left me and where watching, judging. "A boy is happy to learn and will serve well."

He barely acknowledged my words of thanks before he led me through a door at the back of the atrium and through a few corridors taking lefts and rights, it only took a few minutes before he led me to a door at the end of one of the corridors and beckoned me to enter.

As I walked in I took a look around the room and there was nothing inside just a four walled room of grey brick faced wall, the only decoration was a bed that was cut of the left wall and even then it barely passed as such.

When I turned to face my would be teacher after inspecting my room he was holding a black bundle with sandals in another hand, I knew these would be my clothes for the next couple years as I learned all I could from the House and served it well during my stay. I took the bundle and sandals and watched as the man turn to leave, his voice sounded out as he closed the door.

"A boy will start tomorrow, rest for now."

With that he left me in the cold and desolate room, that would serve as my home.
