"Kidnap?! Watch your tongue! I do not dare kidnap such… beast." His voice softened when he mentioned the word beast. He doubted he wanted to call Laia that. But apparently, that is her.

"As if you are not one yourself? Did you eat any of those old men?" Benu raised a brow while looking at the corners of Heru's mouth. There were traces of black blood. "You didn't have any leftovers, right?"

Heru's face immediately turned pale remembering the ghastly taste that was left on his mouth. "They were downright dry and bland…like-"

"Old men, what do you expect? Juicy old men? Even if you have found fat ones, they might just be full of oils and stringy muscles."

Heru felt the retch rising to his throat. He forced it down his stomach. "There was one ugly man, a little fatter than the others. But the taste…"

"Do not describe it to me, I haven't tasted man. And never will I dream of eating one."
