"Don't!" Qiao Qing grabbed his wrist and stopped him from sitting down.

She took over the shovel in his hand, "You don't understand the roots of this herb. It would be bad if you harm it while digging."

Plus, to ask someone with OCD to dig up this plant from a pile of mud would make a scene.

Of course, she didn't say that out loud.

Since Qiao Qing had spoken, Qi Yusen had to give up on his intention to help. Instead, he observed her. 

Just as she was about to dig, he shouted, "You forgot to put on gloves."

By then, she had already dug up the plant and had placed it in the basket the subordinate was carrying.

Afterward, the group continued to walk.
