"I bring medicine to your ailment. It is i that is about to render you aid. But... for an equal price of course. There is no free lunch in this world after all." Clark replied with a shrug. 

Since he had need of this place, the decision of this old man really did not matter at all. He was here and so he shall conquer if the situation called for it.
