Capítulo 11: The Long Hallway
Butch and I walked through the halls of Team Claw's agency and I noticed that they have no guards in the halls. There would occasionally be one protecting a side door, but what can one guard do against an attack from multiple intruders? They also have a lot of paintings on the walls. They are of people in very random scenes and poses… Wait, are they portraits of Team Claw? What made me realize this is the fact that I recognize one of the people as butch's father, standing at the same bus stop as the one at which I mugged him. A little farther down I see a painting of Butch and can't help but let a chuckle escape.
There he is as a kid, running down the hall, buck naked with his father chasing him. He has a look of pure terror on his face while his father looks tired. There is a woman leaning against the wall, holding a set of clothes, that most likely belonged to Butch at the time considering the size of them. She seemed to be mid laugh in the portrait. Is that Butch's mother? I am now realizing that I have never heard anything of Butch's mother. I had heard more of his father as I grew up, but not a thing about his mother.
Butch looks at me in surprise when I chuckled, like I was a ticking time bomb. His face soon turns to embarrassment when he realizes what made me have this weird outburst of emotion. After a few seconds of what seemed like him trying to decide whether or not to explain, it is as if something hits him, an idea or maybe a thought? Whatever it is he is now furious. From that I can tell that it was a thought and I am going to guess it has something to do with me seeing the painting.
"SHAE! I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE THIS PAINTING IN STORAGE OR BETTER YET BURN IT! WHAT ON EARTH IS IT DOING HUNG UP AND WHILE I AM BRINGING SOMEONE IN FOR TRIAL AT THAT!?" He booms as he starts storming down the hallway completely forgetting me, big mistake by the way, and continues to rant on and on about how this Shae person is an idiot and the bane of his existence and so much more that I couldn't care less about... I think my guess might have been right from earlier, but who knows.
I slip a device I created out of my pocket and used its lense to scan the portrait. This device allows me to download whatever I have scanned, within reason, and download it to my computer so I can make an exact replica of it if ever needed, and I think this would go great with some of my later plans for team Claw, if things go south of course… And maybe just because.
Butch finally realized his mistake and came running down the hall cursing all the while. He stops in front of me and a hint of confusion sweeps over his face, but he quickly collects himself and puts on his usual scowl and glares at me.
"Good to have you back, I was just getting bored of thinking 'How ugly can a kid be?'..." I say with a deadpan face that I know will make him contemplate whether I am joking or serious, either way the reaction should be the same.
"You watch yourself. You're in my domain, not those side streets I had to travel to to get you. Here you are nothing and have no status, so don't go around like you mean something, do you understand me?"
"Perfectly…" I say and look at one of the guards in front of a locked metal door. I add a little bit of edge into my eyes and can visibly see him flinch. Yeah… I have no status here. Butch sees this and gives the guard an annoyed look but doesn't say anything because, can you really blame a mere guard in the face of me, the person who claimed the name Sage which has caused quite a bit of panic. And I don't blame those who got frightened by it because imagine being someone who is weak enough that they have to rely on someone else for insurance that they will be kept safe, and then that person is unable to stop a petty thief.
Of course I am more than that but people who just hear bits and pieces of the story will think that their leaders are weaker than they had thought and that puts everything into chaos. Which I will admit is partly why I did not clear anything up for my Team, family, or claim the name Sage. Putting Butch and his Team through that chaos not only helped them prepare for this kind of situation in the future, which is what I will say to anyone who asks, but got him off my butt and allowed me to go off the grid when needed without suspicion.
I now have prepared myself and have gathered supplies for all of my plans to come… let us start off by meeting Team Claw and playing around with them. I also have my curiosity peeked at whoever this 'Shae' is because Butch confronted them in such a relaxed matter. Butch… Do I get the pleasure of eliminating another weakness of yours?

He sees me thinking something and grabs my arm and pulls me down the hall a little ways before I get tired of him holding onto me. I grab his hand and break one finger on it and try to use my advantage point to flip him, but, unlike most people, Butch disarms my move. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed by this but meh, there is more than one way to skin a cat and He will fall into my trap soon enough…
He is about to grab me again when he decides that it is not worth the trouble I will cause. Walking away, he looks back to make sure I follow and stay out of trouble, but he already made the mistake of turning his back to me. I am gone.
