Capítulo 269: Chapter 269 The Demon Leading The Army
Soon after the battle began Thomas destroyed all of the undead and golems, as the piles laid there he crawled out from one of the piles and mumbled "I think I sprained my ankle." Thomas lifted his foot slightly and stared at it and said "Stupid golem couldn't have fallen the other way." Thomas glanced around and said "I'm covered in blood and dirt now, how annoying." As Thomas began to walk back towards Mary a knife was shoved through his stomach and twisted. Thomas glanced down at it without giving any sort of reaction as the demon shouted "You'll pay for running this ambush!"
Thomas glanced back at him and pointed to the knife saying "You missed." The demon glanced at the knife that was obviously in his back and said "Don't you fucking lie to me, your going to die here." Thomas took a step forward removing the knife from his back and said "If you aimed higher it might've killed me." Thomas raised his shirt and took the bandage off revealing a gaping hole and saying "You stabbed through the same hole." The demon took a step back and asked "How are you still alive." Thomas began to walk towards him and said "Not sure, but I can still feel the pain so at the very least I know I'm not dead yet."
The demon leapt back and said "I still have a chance." The demon got down on his knees and started mumbling "Demon lord, please lend me some of your power." After a few seconds a black light flowed into him from thin air and the words "Go on and kill him" were heard in an ominous tone. Thomas glanced around and said "Sounds like your boss has high hopes for you." Thomas smiled and said "Come at me with everything you got, so I can kill you and give this module thingy to Mary with even more power." The demon stood up laughing and said "This power, it's on a whole new level, with this you won't even be able to scratch me."
Thomas raised his hand and blasted a highly pressurized bolt of water through his shoulder and said "Stop talking." The demon held its shoulder and asked "How are you still able to hit me?" Thomas began to walk towards him and blasted another hole through his other shoulder as he said "Don't just stand there, move, gain more strength, beg that shitty demon lord for even more power if you have to, become stronger so I can give Mary a stronger module." The demon's arms healed almost instantly as he nervously shouted "I'll just regenerate all the damage you do to me." Thomas held the power module and tossed it to him while saying "Not good enough."
The demon caught the power module and said "Your giving me some of the strength of my army to fight you?" The demon began to laugh and said "You've given me your power, you fool." The demon laughed and said "Now I can regenerate all the damage you do to me, you won't even be able to do anything against me!" The demon dashed at him with its claws out and shouted "Your going to die!" Thomas stood there and said "It's still not enough." As the demon swung its claws at Thomas's chest it nervously said "W-what?" Thomas grabbed the demon's arm and crushed his wrist while saying "Beg that demon lord for more power."
Thomas took the module back and said "This has proved useless to you so far, so get down on your knees and beg for more power." The demon's wrist healed almost instantly and he began to pray once more. After a few more seconds of mumbling there was more and more black light that seemed to continually flow into his body for a few seconds. As the demon stood up he glanced at his hand and said "This power, do I really need this much power to beat him?" The demon glanced at Thomas and smirked as he said "The demon lord has given me enough power to destroy this entire town on my own in a day, do you still think you stand a chance?"
Thomas tilted his head and said "Shut the hell up and start throwing punches before I get bored and just decide to kill you." The demon smiled and said "Those words are hollow, your go-" just before the demon could finish its sentence Thomas grabbed the demon by the throat and said "You talk too much." The demon grabbed Thomas's uninjured shoulder and set it on fire with a black flame while smugly saying "Tier three magic is sure to kill you." Thomas glared at the demon and said "It'll go away if I kill you, won't it?" The demon paused for a moment and said "Kill me and find out."
Thomas crushed the demon's throat and watched as the fire stayed there and grew. Thomas quickly took the jacket off and put the fire out on it and said "This was made by a friend, you shouldn't destroy something that doesn't belong to you." Thomas put the jacket in his sub space and glanced at his still burning shoulder. Thomas began to walk back towards Mary as he mumbled "Is it just gonna burn me to death?" As he got closer to Mary she stared at his shoulder and asked "Why is it on fire?" Thomas glanced at his shoulder and said "That bastard of a demon set me on fire before dying."
Mary pointed to his shoulder and said "It's a cursed flame placed on your skin." Mary ran towards him and said "It'll continue to burn you until you die." Thomas stared at his shoulder and said "I have a way to get rid of it, but it's more of a gamble." Mary stared at him and said "Please get rid of it then!" Thomas summoned his sword in his hand and turned it on himself and said "Here goes nothin." As he shoved the sword through his own chest and pulled it back out dropping it to the floor Mary watched looking terrified shouting "Why would you stab yourself!" Thomas stumbled forward for a moment and watched as the flame went out.
As he collapsed to the ground he smiled and said "Looks like it worked." Mary got down by his body and began to cry while begging him to get back up." After a few moments the burns, the bite mark in his shoulder, and the hole in his stomach began heal. Mary stared at his injuries and said "What's going on?" As Thomas pushed himself off of the ground he yawned and said "Looks like it worked. Mary stared at him for a moment and then held onto him while crying and shouting "I thought you killed yourself." Thomas put his hand on her back and said "Killed myself?"
Mary glanced at him and said "You stabbed yourself without giving me a reason." Mary held onto him again and said "Please don't scare me like that ever again." Thomas held her close and said "Yeah sure, but do me a favor and stop holding on so tight." Mary loosened her grip apologized while wiping her eyes. As Thomas stood up he handed her the module and said "This is yours." Mary held the module and stared at it while asking "But what about your eyes, they've gone grey." Thomas held his eye and said "they'll go back after a while, let's just ignore it and get washed off." Mary stared at him and said "You are covered in a lot of blood and dirt."
Thomas raised one of his arms and said "Yeah it is kinda disgusting." Mary stared at him and asked "So what are you gonna do about the demon lord?" Thomas thought for a moment and said "Absolutely nothing, but I'll beat whatever he send at me." Mary stared at him and asked "But wouldn't it be easier to beat him?" Thomas glanced at Mary and said "I'm not strong enough to do that, and I've already been told not to fight the demon lord by a god." Mary stared at him and smiled as she said "If they won't let you beat the demon lord then I'll become strong enough to do it for you." Thomas stared at her for a moment and then smiled as he said "You'll definitely be able to eventually."
Mary ran up to him and grabbed his hand while dragging him and saying "Come on, we should get a bath and then do quests so I can work on getting strong enough to beat the demon lord." As she drug him along the voice that alerted everyone about the attack said "We just got news that the demon lord attacked the city in two places, but the other army was taken care of by some other person." Thomas glanced up and said "It must've been Toby." Mary glanced at him and said "I think they're talking about you, since you ran in the opposite direction of the actual attack." Thomas flinched and said "I thought I was just the first to arrive."
