Capítulo 9: Detention
"Ring!!!"
The bell of the Physics clad by Miss Ling has finally ended which meant that school was over for the day and the students were allowed to go home and relax but for me, I had to go for my detention class and waste a whole two hours of my life.
Seeing the detention classroom, I saw that I was the first one there other than Mr Wang who was there to supervise the students in detention. I just chose to sit at a table nearest to the window which allowed me to peek at the entrance of the school. I might as well practice gathering mana and check if I could use spell silently.
While gathering mana, I tried to imagine a small tornado forming in front of me. I was unable to use any of the plant or water spell as they would be too visible and too striking and would allow people to notice. The tree that I had casted the spell on have already made it onto the top news on all the social media website with most people thinking that it was photoshop.
The first and second wind spell that I tried to silent cast ended in a total failure. The mana just was not able to come out properly. As compared to the normal cast and silent cast, all process remained the same until the final step where I say the spell. Upon saying the spell, this allowed the mana to flow out to form a spell. As for when I tried to silent cast, the mana did not flow out smoothly and just stagnated there until I silently mumbled out the spell which allowed me to cast the spell.
Thinking about this, I deduced that the only difference would be that the spell needed a command to be launched from the body. For example, I often use the name of the spell as a trigger to launch the spells. For a silent spell, there can be two ways which was to either think of the spell launching in my head or use a physical method to launch the spell such as using the action of 'clenching my fist' as a trigger to launch the spell.
After much trial and error, I figured that both methods were viable and could be use. However, both spells seem to have degrade in strength as compared to spells that have a verbal command. The spells that have a physical trigger had greater strength than those spells that have a mental trigger. However, I was confident that with more practices, I could improve the strength of the silent spells to those chanted spells.
"Alexander!"
Hearing my name, I turned my head to find Mr Wang looking at me. He was pointing at the clock which made me realized that it was already 6.30pm already and detention was over. I quickly apologized for not listening to his first few call for me and quickly escape the room.
