The so-called Spirit Hall was merely a large log cabin, nothing more.
Because everyone had spirits, every year, children would undergo spirit awakening. Therefore, Spirit Halls could be found everywhere on the Continent. Naturally, these were all only subsidiary halls.
In addition to village elder Jack and the nine children present, there was also one youth in the Spirit Hall. This person appeared to be just over 20 years old, dashing eyebrows slanting above starry eyes, his facial features extremely bright and handsome. He was dressed completely in brilliant white clothes, a black cloak on his back, and right on his chest's center, above his heart, was a palm-sized 'spirit' character. This was standard attire for staff directly subordinate to Spirit Hall.
On the left side of the chest was a carved badge with three crossed long swords. It seemed like Jack knew this kind of Spirit Master well; three in quantity represented a Spirit Master of third-degree, titled Spirit Grandmaster, and the long swords represented this Spirit Hall attendant was a Battle Spirit Master.
"Greetings, esteemed Battle Spirit Grandmaster, this time we will inconvenience you." Old Jack respectfully bowed to the youngster.
The center of the youngster's forehead betrayed an indifferent arrogance. Indifferently bowing slightly, he, at last, returned the greeting, "My time is scarce; let's begin."
"Very well. Children, this is a Battle Spirit Grandmaster from Nuoding City. Next, he will guide you to open yourselves to your spirit. You must cooperate well with the great teacher to conduct your spirit awakening; grandpa is looking forward to seeing who among you has the capability to become Spirit Masters." Old Man Jack addressed the children
The youngster somewhat impatiently said, "You said the same thing last year. Do you think becoming a Spirit Master is really that easy? I already passed six villages, and not one of them had a person with spirit power. They also didn't have suitable spirits."
Old Jack's eyes showed a trace of dejection. Sighing, he said, "Only one in very many inherits the aptitude to actually become a Spirit Master. Among us ordinary people, it is indeed most difficult." Old Man Jack shook his head and left the Spirit Hall.
The youngster's gaze fell on the nine children before him. As a Spirit Hall inspecting attendant, helping ordinary people undergo spirit awakening was his compulsory assignment, and he was long since used to it. "Children, line up."
The nine children moved to form a line, Tang San and Hachijo Tenko were the last in line as they were the last to enter the spirit hall. Tang San was a little thinner and smaller than other children his age, while Tenko was the opposite. Tenko was a bit taller and a muscular body due to his training.
The youngster smiled and spoke, "I am called Su Yuntao, a twenty-sixth ranked Spirit Grandmaster, and will be your guide. Now, I will have you undergo spirit awakening one by one. Remember, regardless of what happens, do not be afraid."
While speaking, Su Yuntao unfolded a bundle on a desk to one side, taking out two things from inside: six-round pitch-black stones and one sparkling blue crystal ball.
Su Yuntao placed the six black stones on the ground in the form of a hexagon, then motioned the first child on the right to stand inside. "Don't be afraid, close your eyes and feel careful.", he said.
While speaking, Su Yuntao's eyes suddenly lit up, and before the children's appalled eyes, he shouted in a deep voice, "Lone Wolf Body Enhancement."
A wisp of thin blue-green light rose from between his eyebrows, following straight up and entering his hair knot.
Su Yuntao's hair was originally black, but just after that blue-green light poured in, it had turned grey in a flash. Furthermore, it quickly grew longer, and similarly colored fur appeared on both his uncovered hands. Simultaneously, his body also seemed to expand a great deal compared to before, his whole body swelling with muscle.
The Spirit Hall attire had excellent elasticity; it actually didn't rip when filling to the point of bursting because of his body growing large. Su Yuntao's eyes had already changed to a faint green color. Sharp claws stretched out from the ten fingers on both hands, glimmering coolly with a dazzling gleam. Two concentric halos of light shone brightly up from underfoot, constantly moving from underfoot to the crown of his head. Among them, one was white, and the other one was yellow. Exceedingly strange.
The boy he told to stand among the black stones, with eyes staring at Su Yuntao's body-transforming, suddenly shouted, "Aaaaah~~~~~~," about to run away from fear.
The fresh green radiance in Su Yuntao's eyes was truly frightening. Catching hold of that child, he said:
"Don't move. I said not to be afraid. This is my spirit, Lone Wolf. If one of you is capable of becoming a Spirit Mastera in the future, they will also be able to employ similar abilities."
The only one not immediately at the height of terror was Tang San. Instead of astonishment, Tang San's heart was full of curiosity, 'Grey fur appeared all over him, green eyes, these really are wolf characteristics. Could it be that after spirit possession, he transformed into a wolf? No, not right. It should be that he possesses a wolf ability, right. Then, within spirit master vocation, there should be a better use of spirit abilities.'
For the first time, Tang San realized, he became interested in the Spirit Master vocation. He now somewhat impatiently wanted to know what his own spirit was.
On the other hand, Tenko wasn't very interested in the happenings around him. His thoughts were still back home with Kazumi.
As Su Yuntao clapped both hands together, six faint green lights poured into the black stones on the ground at lightning speed. At once, a layer of golden misty light was released from the stones and rose.
For some reason, as the previously noisily crying child was enveloped in the faint golden light, he immediately became quiet, just somewhat dully standing there.
Every speck of the golden light came fluttering up from the black stones, further entering the boy's body. The boy's body began to tremble slightly, not knowing whether to shout or remain quiet.
"Extend your right hand." Su Yuntao's two moss green eyes stared fixedly at the boy, majestically commanding.
The boy extended his right hand with a start, then paused. All the light specks surged out. Instantly a sickle appeared in his hand. It would appear that sickle wasn't any trick of the light, and rather it truly existed.
Su Yuntao creased his brow, "It's a Tool Spirit. Can a sickle be regarded as a weapon? It ought to with effort."
The golden light gradually disappeared. The boy, somewhat amazed, looked at the not particularly small sickle in his hand, rather at a loss.
Su Yuntao said, "Your spirit is Sickle, a Tool Spirit. Come, let me test if you have spirit power. If you possess spirit power, even a tool spirit can undergo Battle Spirit Cultivation. After all, a sickle certainly has potential for attack."
"Great-, great teacher, what should I do?" the boy timidly asked.
Su Yuntao coolly replied, "Intentionally recall your spirit. From now, try to remember the time you employed it and use that thought to call it out."
The boy tried a long time, just to recall the sickle. Su Yuntao's hands held the blue crystal ball in front of him, motioning him to place his right hand on it.
The boy's immature little hand and Su Yuntao's wolf claws above and below the crystal ball, respectively, there was a clear contrast.
A moment later, Su Yuntao somewhat dejectedly said, "No spirit power. You can't become a Spirit Master. For now, step aside.
Similar scenes continued to play out, and one after another, five children had their spirits awakened. Their spirits were all a few pickaxes, sickles, and such farm tools. In succession, no Beast Spirits appeared, and as for spirit power, all were judged by Su Yuntao to be 'nil.'
The Ceremony didn't take long but to the worried Tenko. It seemed to take an eternity. Before he knew it…
"Hachijo Tenko.." he heard his name and soon realized that it was finally his turn, and after him, the ceremony would end.
Tenko sprinted to the spirit master. And the spirit master was disappointed by the previous prospects, so he simply Awakened Tenko's spirit without saying a word to Tenko. A moment later, a small runt manifested next to Tenko. The Spirit master looked on with awe as he saw the little Gold and crimson Fox. It was smaller than any fox spirit he had ever seen, though it exuded pure energy unlike any other as well.
"V-variant Spirit," he muttered under his breath.
While the room looked at the small fox, Tenko felt a burning sensation in his left hand, similar to that of the sensation he felt before his fox emerged. With all the will power and ki control that he had, he willed his second spirit away. He had read numerous books on the matter and knew of his mother's distrust of spirit hall. Tenko thought it best to keep the rare phenomenon to himself. Unfortunately, one person was watching him a little too closely.
Tang San smiled and said, "Brother Tenko. I think you should check your spirit power now."
The spirit master snapped out of his trance and handed Tenko the crystal ball that Tenko took into his hands. The moment she pushed his spirit power into. The orb shined with bright light, and it was blinding. "full innate spirit power. O-of fif-fifteen!?" The spirit master was flabbergasted.
When the ceremony was over, the spirit master personally walked Tang San and Tenko outside to Old Man Jack. Though, as soon as the Spirit Master began to speak, Tenko shot off as fast as he could while wearing his body weights.
"W-where is he going?" Asked the Spirit Master
"Oh, don't mind him. He's worried about his mother. I think she isn't feeling well. But if you have something for him, I could deliver it later." Said Tang San.
"U-uh. I just wanted to invite him to Spirit Hall. Unfortunately, all I can do for you is write you a recommendation for Nuoding Academy."
"I'll have to talk to my father first." Said Tang San.
The Spirit master smiled and began to scribble on paper before handing Tang San two slips of paper. Before heading to the next town.

Kazumi stirred in her sleep and let out a slight moan mixed with pain and pleasurable relief, yet she still remained asleep, and Tenko had no idea why. He continued to lick Kazumi's breast, stomach, shoulders, and thighs clean of her juices. He then pinched her left nipple as he worked on her right breast. He used a good fraction of his strength to massage her breast as he bit on her nipple gently. Using his teeth, he gave her a slight tug, and she began to stir again but remained asleep.
Tenko climbed atop of her and straddled her stomach before he began to drink from her. Her sweet fluid came like a never-ending fountain, but Tenko savagely drank every drop until her breast had softened and regained its natural color. Tenko had also noticed the red veins on her right side had also faded. Moving to her left. Tenko replaced his fingers with his mouth, and Kazumi flowed like a broken dam. She was now sweating and panting in herself but refused to wake, so Tenko worked even harder. Just as he finished licking the last drop with a strong flick of his tongue over her nipple, Kazumi's bodies tensed, and all the redness in her veins moved towards her lower body.
Tenko followed the veins to her luscious pink lotus and took Kazumi's flower into his mouth in an attempt to catch all of her gushing juices that he was slowly becoming addicted to. If Kazumi were awake, she would have stopped him long ago. But instead, she was still sleep spasming under the assault of his tongue, exploring the deepest parts of her sex to coax the rest of her demonic fluids out.
Tenko worked for a little over three hours. He knew Kazumi's weak spots like the back of his hand. It was engraved in his mind, and the pattern had become a natural movement for his tongue. Kazumi released her fluids over and over again until her body went soft and limp. The heat that plagued her had broken. The red veins had disappeared.
Tenko now laid exhausted betweens Kazumi's legs. It was a few moments after that when Kazumi finally awoke. Her body was weak, but she could move without pain. She weakly lifted her head and looked at the tired Tenko resting against her stomach. She ran her fingers through his hair and sighed.
"I'm sorry, Kit."
In that one sentence, Tenko knew it was sorry for more than what had just taken place. Tenko just brushed it off and put on a smile. There was nothing Kazumi could do that could anger Tenko.
"You took in more of my power than ever before. You need to cultivate and distribute it through your body. Strengthen your organs, bones, and meridian. Then add to your Ki pool and then your spirit power. In that order. Go"
When Tenko was gone, Kazumi waited for her internal force to balance out before she stood up and collected the bags that she had already packed.

It was nightfall when a young blonde-haired woman pushed open two grand white doors and rushed into a great hall with hurried steps and heavy panting. When the woman finally reached the edge of the hall. She kneeled in front of a throne where a young woman sat.
The woman who sat on the throne had fair skin and an almost perfect complexion with an air of noble radiance. She dressed in black gilt-lined luxurious robes, wearing a nine-tipped purple gold crown with a more than two-meter long scepter in her hand, inlaid with countless precious stones. She was none other than the Supreme Pontiff of Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong.
The young kneeling woman swallowed and said, "Supreme Pontiff. We've received a report from Heaven Duo Empire. South of Nuoding City is a small village called Holy Spirit Village. Today was their Spirit Awakening Ceremony. And a young man was recommended to the Spirit Hall."
"So what?" Said Bibi Dong
"His Spirit beast is speculated to be a variant. A variant as rare as Han Mei's, and the boy has an innate full spirit of fifteen." replied the girl.
Bibi Dong became exceedingly angry and walked down to the messenger. She raised the girl by her chin and asked, "Han Mei? Tell me about this Beast Spirit."
"I-it's a Gold and Crimson Fox. A small runt. Though, the Spirit Master describes its aura as more fierce and regal than that of the Golden Saint Dragon from the Golden Iron Triangle."
"There it is. The reason you brought this to me. You think this kid is their son. The boy that disappeared six years ago. And here I thought the Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan was keeping him hidden" Bibi Dong turned away from the girl and began to laugh hysterically, and the young woman became nervous.
"Find that boy. He will pay for the crimes of his mother and traitorous father!" Bibi Dong was livid, hurt, jealous, and envious all at the same time.
As the messenger ran as fast as she could to issue the order of the Supreme Pontiff. Bibi Dong looked towards the heavens as a single tear escaped her right eye and rolled down her cheek.
'Yu Xiaogang. You abandon me and give the child that was to be mine to a Vixen Whore!' Bibi Dong gritted her teeth and made a fist so tight; her nails drew blood from her palm.

Around the same time in Holy Spirit Village, Tenko had ended his cultivation after strengthening his foundation.
"Your spirit power has increased," Said Kazumi
"Hmm. I'm now at level 17. And the Ki pool has also increased." Said Tenko with a big smile. But it didn't last long. Kazumi stood up and tossed a large backpack to Tenko.
"Who did the spirit awakening Ceremony? Tang Hao?" Kazumi silently hoped, but her hopes were set ablaze once Tenko replied
"A spirit master from Spirit Hall."
"Then we've wasted enough time. We have to go now." Kazumi headed for the door of the dojo and began to fiddle with some wire.
Tenko thought about Tang San for a moment and then put the thought of his friend and brother to the side. 'If fate allows it, I'll see him again..'
Tenko put the pack on his back and walked out of the Dojo. Kazumi pulled the wire taut and connected it to the sliding panel, and closed it. She then told Tenko to remove his weights, and the two disappeared into the night.
Hours later, a group of Spirit Kings led by a spirit Emperor appeared at Hachijo House. They had just finished pressuring Old Man Jack into revealing the location. But their stay at Hachijo House was cut short when the Spirit kings entered the Dojo and House. They were struck by curiosity. The had never seen such architecture or a training room with odd statues, paper walls, and--
Boom! Boom! Two great explosions had taken both the house and Dojo. The tripwires had set off a fuse beneath the buildings. After a short delay, barrels of bombs made with Azidoazide azide -- a high nitrogen energetic material, exploded, catching the spirit masters off guard, killing a few, and severely injuring the rest. After the explosion, all traces of Tenko and Kazumi had vanished.
As the Spirit Hall retreated, Tenko and Kazumi were about 10 kilometers from Heaven Dou Empire's border. And after one hard push, the two arrived at the border and entered Star Dou Forest. Though they didn't enter undetected, the guards just didn't care. They all assumed Tenko and Kazumi would be dead in a few hours anyway.

The next morning, Tang San left for Nuoding Academy. He had wanted to say goodbye to Tenko, but Tang Hao had forbidden him from going to Hachijo House.
Soon after Tang San's departure, Tang Hao had also left Holy Spirit Village, in search of Tenko.
