Capítulo 6: Marry Me
I pulled out my Pocketknife. I am not a stupid woman, I know that men try to take advantage of women. Her brothers made her carry it around just to make sure. She never knew it would come in handy.
"You daré draw a knife on your king!" Anyone from a mile away could feel the Kings anger as he spoke. I knew he would have me executed for this, so I did something that didn't ensure my safety but ensured my life.
"I do not draw a knife on anyone but myself!" I took the Knife and put it to my neck. The king was shocked, I swallowed.
"Do not underestimate me, your Grace. I have the guts and confidence of a man." He turned red,
"Good Job, You have embarrassed your king." He spoke with full hatred.
"YOU HAVE EMBARRASSED ME ELIZABETH!!" He spat as he spoke, angry, frustrated and embarrassed were not good combinations. Now I will never get my boys land back, I am left with nothing because I have disobeyed the King.'
"Do not expect to see me again. I wish to never see your face again Lady Elizabeth Gray."
I saw as Elizabeth looked at me. Written all over her face was hatred yet there was a hint of scared,
I got on my horse angrily, she had guts to pull a knife on her king. But she had even more guts to pull a knife on herself. Who did she think she was, just a peasant I saw on the side of the road. I could simply spit her back out and not have a problem. Without me she would not have her lands.
I looked The beautiful woman in front of me in the eye. I couldn't do it, I couldn't just spit her out. I knew I would never find a woman like her ever again. I don't care what has to be done in the process. I want to rule alongside her.
Did I just make the biggest mistake of my life. I just told the woman That I never wanted to see her again.
But if we are truly fated, god will make our paths cross again. Hopefully it will be soon.
As I looked Edward in the eye, he was lost in thought. He was thinking about something he cared about. But he soon came back to his senses and rode off in the sunset.
As I walked home I felt a pain in my stomach. I knew this would not be the last time I saw Edward. He had another battle tomorrow.
I shall go to dinner as if nothing happened.
As I arrived my mother soon came out and asked "How did it go?"
"It went fine mother, is dinner ready I'm quite hungry."
"Yes it sure is, why don't you go inside and help me set the table." My mother of everyone would know if something was wrong. The look she gave me told me she knew something had gone down. But I did not plan on telling her what the king had done to me.
'The dinner table was quite silent. Usually my mother and father would be chatting. And so would my sisters be talking, but because of recent events everyone seemed to be mad at each other. Antony was eyeing me as I played with my food as I lost my appetite thinking of what the king had tried to do.'
"Can I be excused, I have lost my appetite."
My mother quick to answer "Actually Elizabeth we have something we need to discuss."
"What might that be mother"
"Tomorrow we shall meet with the King, we shall give him some gold to support him and show him our loyalty."
"What so now you want me to give him my money!.?" My father quick to answer back. But now I have to see the King again. We're not really on speaking terms, I'm not sure how he would react to seeing me.'
Learning the Elizabeth and Her family were planning to meet me at the Big Oak Tree told me that god knows that Elizabeth and I are meant to be together.
And with that I'll ask her to Marry Me
