Capítulo 177: EPISODE 177: Night Congregation!
Nightime strikes, and the moon has risen again. The wind oozed through the rustling grass and swaying trees, it was another peaceful night indeed. Back at the orphanage, Zhery and Roserade decided to do something a bit mischievous.
<Rose! Roserade...>Roserade twirls around the dark halls of the orphanage. All the lights were closed, since it was time for the orphans to enter a deep slumber.
"Roserade, be quiet. You'll wake everyone up!" Zhery hushed while tiptoeing across the hall.
On the edge of the hall, lies the auditorium of the orphanage. It was the only place filled with wide-awake people. The Champion, Elites, and the Pokemon Police Department to be specific.
Zhery schemes to eavesdrop their conversation. For days, it seemed to her that Melody and the remaining elites are somewhat hiding something.
Inside the room the auditorium lies one large circular table wherein all the officials and the people included sat beside. In front of them was the whole map of the Laurenburg region. Zhery noticed that the door wasn't fully closed, she used this as her opportunity to eavesdrop.
"There have been unofficial reports about commotions between the Kanto and Johto region. We are not sure if this is true since we haven't heard anything about these two regions for a long time." Officer Jenny, the temporary general of the Pokemon Police Department reported.
"Commotion? If that is true then that means they've been news blackout to keep the problem between the two regions. If the so-called commotion intensifies, other regions could be at stake, causing a new Pokemon War." Draco warned.
"The bank at Aulmurus city has also been bombed by the Masked Revelations. Our best police officers and detectives are already at the site to figure out where they could be. The Daycare center has also been attacked, but according to Connoisseur Vergendy, they were unable to succeed.
She also reported the use of Advance Holographic Imaging, which could be used to create clones. Their leader's name has also been given by the leader herself. Axis R. Evergreen, an A-class criminal.
After the death of her parents, which were the former leaders of the Masked Revelations, Axis took in charge. We thought that they stopped, but it seems to me that they were growing in the shadows." Officer Jenny reported.
"Hopefully Kalem and Glade are doing alright," Zhery whispered to herself while eavesdropping their conversation.
"It seems suspicious to me, it is possible that the Masked Revelations and the Chaos Regime are working together. I haven't seen another attack coming from the regime since the incident on the cavern.
They were able to capture Genesect, which can be used to open an Ultra Wormhole if... it's power syncs with Mewtwo. That is why Cypress and Lyra upgraded them to be like that. If you want to open the portals, you need both of them. Genesect and Mewtwo needs to be in sync, so this means the regime is finding Mewtwo." Melody hypothesize.
"Then that means... Kalem could be heading to a trap. If you what you say is true, the Regime and the Mafia are working together, then that means Kalem is vulnerable.
They can easily get Mewtwo's coordinates through Kalem's mind. Just plug a cable then you'll have everything you'll need. Both organizations are way more advanced than our technology.
If the Masked Revelation creates a clone of one of Kalem's friend, then Kalem will surely believe the clone. He'll lead the boy to a vulnerable spot and the regime could possibly strike from there. Kalem trusts anyone as long as it is his friend." Alice hypothesized.
"Your hypothesis could be correct. Where is Kalem right now?" Officer Jenny questioned.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out. It's either Glacevelt city or Dracovolt city. We're not sure which route he took." Groyle added.
"If the regime gets their hands on the boy, it's game over. They'll be able to find Mewtwo right away, if they do then Arville's ambition will be achieved." Melody feared and worried.
"Come on Roserade, we have to contact Hemera right now." After hearing about the possible plan of the two evil organizations governing the Laurenburg region, Zhery felt concerned and worried.
She and her Pokemon Roserade rushed back to her room. Hemera was able to give Zhery her number after the events between the Fire commander Zylon and the Water commander Hemera. If the hypothesis is true... The regime could attain Mewtwo in a matter of days.
"Come on answer Hemera!" Zhery begged while calling her for the second time. Hemera wasn't answering her phone.
"Oh Zhery? It's midnight and you're still awake!?" Hemera finally answered her Zhery's call. She uttered with a drowsy and sleepy voice, her sleep was probably interrupted by the loud ringtone of her phone.
"Hemera, what do you know about Glacevelt City and Dracovolt city?" Zhery questioned.
"I don't know anything about Dracovolt city but I am familiar with Glacevelt city," Hemera uttered with a drowsy voice.
"Tell me everything you know about the city right away," Zhery begged. She grabbed a piece of paper and a pen while she tuned in to Hemera's explanation.
"Glacevelt city is a property of the Chaos Regime. No one knows that the regime owns the city, all they know is that the city is filled with weird and stubborn people. For many years, officers tried to investigate the city, but they found nothing suspicious except for Lunar who is the gym leader.
Her code name is Gym Leader Emerald. People of the city calls her that in order for her true identity to remain a secret. She also specializes in ice type Pokemons, I'm sure you are fully aware of that right?
Why are you asking about Glacevelt city anyways?" Hemera explained with a drowsy voice.
"Kalem! He's either going to Dracovolt city or Glacevelt city. From Aulmurus city, which one is the closest?" Zhery began to worry.
"Let's see... Aren't you with Kalem by the way?"
"No, I'm back at the orphanage. Glade, Camellia, and Kalem are traveling together but I'm not sure where they're headed next."
"I see, from Aulmurus city, the closest point is Glacevelt city. If Kalem is heading to the city, he's vulnerable."
"Vulnerable!? Is there a way that you could warn him about the city?" Zhery questioned.
"I'll see what I can do, I'm also on my way to Glacevelt city anyways. If the Chaos Regime finds him, Mewtwo's information could be gathered through a Necro Cable."
"I know... please tell Kalem immediately. I've lost a lot of important people, I can't let my friends be one of them."
"Don't worry Zhery. Leave it to me, now I want you to sleep since it's way past twelve. I'll figure out a plan tomorrow."
"Thanks Hemera..." Zhery greeted and declined the call. She was able to jot down notes about the city. Lunar turns out to be the gym leader with a code name of: Gym Leader Emerald.
"Zhery!" Melody entered her room ferociously.
"M... Melody!?" Zhery beamed with shock and awe. Roserade was sitting beside her with a guilty-looking face for staying up late.
"Why are you still awake!? Do you know what time it is? And don't pretend to act innocent, Alice saw you eavesdropping our conversation." Melody infuriated.
"I'm sorry Melody, I was just-"
"That's not all, why were you talking to a commander of team Chaos? I heard her name when I entered the room."
"Melody, Hemera is a former commander of the regime. She left the regime months ago. When I eavesdropped your conversation with the Pokemon Police Department, I... I got worried.
Since Hemera was a former member of Team Chaos, I decided to call her so that I could gather information about Glacevelt city. It turns out, that their gym leader is Lunar, a commander of the Chaos Regime.
The city is also owned by the regime itself. What's worse is, Kalem is heading towards it. I've lost my mother, and I can't let my friends be the next ones." Zhery explained with a brittle and solemn voice. She gave her notes to Melody so that she and the rest could benefit from it.
"Zhery, I know that you are concerned about your friends. Let the adults handle is ok? Kalem will be fine, and by the way, these notes couldn't possibly be true."
"Not true!? A former commander of the regime told me those facts."
"Number one, the city is protected with officers coming from the department itself. Number two, the gym leader of the city is not Lunar. Her hair, is different from Lunar's blue hair. If the city is owned by the regime, we would have known because again, the city is guarded by the Pokemon Department." Melody explained.
"What if those officers are pretending to be officers when in fact they're grunts?" Zhery hunched.
"Impossible, when recruiting new members we make sure that they don't belong to the regime. I'm sorry, but Hemera could've told you these fake facts, she may be pretending to be a former member." Melody explained and crumpled the notes.
"If you don't believe me, it's fine. I trust Hemera, and I know she is not pretending."
"In these times, I should advise you not to believe anyone anymore. Sleep tight, Professor Juniper will be arriving later." Melody walked out of the room and threw the piece of paper in the trash can beside the door. She slowly closed Zhery's door and walked back to the auditorium silently.
"Roserade... what now? The Champion doesn't believe us. Kalem is vulnerable and our only hope now is through Hemera." Zhery laid on her bed and looked at the gargantuan moon from her window.
Roserade laid near her trainer to comfort her bother and concern. She cuddled her tightly as her petals sent out a sweet scent which put the both of them to sleep. Tomorrow, Zhery's adventure continues, but before that, a professor from the Unova region will be coming to give her a starter Pokemon.
Tepig, Snivy, or Oshawott. Zhery has a big decision to come up with tomorrow. As for the champion, elites, and the Pokemon Department? New plans and orders await, as the search for the Chaos Regime continues...
