Capítulo 3: EPISODE 3: The Headmaster
"Excuse me, do you know where I can find the dining hall?"
I was ignored by the people around me. They didn't even care to look at me. They just passed by, just as if I was invisible.
While walking, I saw a Pokemon called Budew, I asked Riolu to ask Budew if he knows a thing or two about the hall.
"Uhm, excuse me?" Riolu spoke.
"Bud?"
"Do you know where we can find the dining hall?"
"Bud... Budew Budew"
*Riolu climbs up Kalem's arm*
"Budew said that he doesn't know where," Riolu explained.
"Oh, ok, but thanks Budew" I smiled at Budew.
*Budew smiles back at Kalem*
We searched and searched but found nothing, until...
"Excuse! Excuse! Move aside"
I couldn't react that quickly, and seconds later, we bumped into each other.
"Ouch... Uhm Uhm... Pardon me!" he said.
"No problem!"
He was so kind to lift me up, and warm-hearted as well.
"I'm sorry, I bumped into you, I was in a hurry you see" he continued to explain.
"It's ok..."
"Kalem, ask him if he knows about the dining hall" said Riolu.
"Oh! Your right Riolu!"
"Wait, you can understand each other?" he asked.
"Umm yeah! This is a Poketrans gem, an automated device that translates whatever a Pokemon says" I uttered.
"Oh, I've never seen such a thing before. By the way, my name is Glade, and this is my partner, Shinx!"
*Shinx smiles at Kalem and Riolu*
"And my name is Kalem, and this is Riolu and... I want to ask you something?"
"Yeah sure..."
"Do you know where we can find the dining hall?"
"The dining hall, yeah! I know where the dining hall is, in fact, I was rushing towards the dining hall."
"Oh, now I see why you were in a rush!"
"Hehe I said sorry didn't I. You can come with me and shinx if you want" Glade said.
"Really? thanks so much!"
"Thanks, Glade," said Riolu
"Huh, what did Riolu say?" asked Glade
"He said thanks" I answered.
"Oh, if that's the case, then you're welcome Riolu." glade said.
*Riolu smiles at glade*
We started to get along while walking to the dining hall, Glade asked me, "What brings you here Kalem?"
"Umm... sorry, I'm not in the mood to tell." His question reminded me of the incident in Silver-Heart city.
"Come on, you can trust me? Your secret is safe with me" Glade smiled.
"Maybe next time I'll tell, but not now. How about you Glade, what brought you here?" I returned the question.
"My parents... they went missing yesterday, " he replied. his eyes started to shiver.
"Yesterday? Where" I asked.
"In Silver Heart City, they never returned to the house that night."
"Silver Heart City, the place where the incident occurred?" I asked.
"Yes, the police said they did not find their bodies, but explained that no one can survive that explosion," Glade uttered silently.
"The day before they went to the lab, my parents told me, that they were trying to save the world," Glade said.
"That's what my parents told me too," I said softly.
"Your parents used to work in the lab don't they?" Glade asked.
"Alright, I'll tell you what happened(sobs) they died from the explosion too," I answered.
"I guess, we share something in common," Glade said.
"Yeah... I wished my parents were still here with me."
"Same," Glade uttered.
We've finally reached the tall doors of the dining room. We knocked at the doors and once it opened, both of us were in awe! Long dining tables, a lot of food and drinks! Filled with hundreds of kids just like us. Large chandeliers hanging in the ceiling, and in front was no other than the headmaster.
We were escorted to our seats. It was embarrassing that we were the last to arrive at the hall, but since it's our first time, we were forgiven. Me and Glade got to sit together.
HONK!!! The trumpets were played.
It was a cue that all orphans must stand up, then the headmaster stood up, from his chair-looking throne, and spoke.
"Good morning everyone, I am Beatrice, professor Beatrice, the headmaster of this orphanage."
I thought she was strict, Riolu couldn't move of fear! but her voice made everything changed. It seemed to me she was kind after all.
"For our newcomers, welcome to the "Citrus house for the lost" Here, we don't treat you as orphans, we treat you as kids. Your neighbors are your new brothers and sisters, and I, together with the other professors and teachers, would be your new parents. We promise to love and care for all of you"
Her words seem to be trusted. The look of the other kids with their Pokemon seemed happy.
"I've never thought, that our headmaster would be kind" Glade said.
"Yeah me too." I smiled.
Everyone was amazed and in awe of her statements. Their goal is for our dreams to be achieved, and once we can face the adversities of life, it is when we can start our life outside of the orphanage.
"My children! Eat and be merry" the last words of Professor Beatrice before the feast began. Everybody sat and said. "Thank you for the food"
Me and Glade did not know what to do. We watched the other kids get their food, then we were approached by Nattalie.
"Don't be scared, don't be shy, we're one big family here," she said.
And that's when, we (Glade and I) felt more confident than before. Oh one more thing! The boys and girls are in a separate table as well! And Glade told me that they have a swimming pool here!
We ate and drank oran berry juice. The food was delicious, just like food from a five-star restaurant!
I and Glade were happy that day, and a fun fact! Glade told me that Beatrice the headmaster, is also a Pokemon master. I hope one day, we would battle each other. I wonder what it feels like battling a Pokemon master?
After lunch, the headmaster spoke,
"Newcomers, we hope you'll have a grand adventure and life here in the orphanage, like I said, we treat everyone as children. I hope everyone will treat everyone as brothers and sisters, and we hope that you'll treat us as your parents. You are free to do whatever you want from now on, but whatever you do, do it with justice and excellence, uphold the values of this orphanage."
After that Ms. Beatrice left together with the other professors. We all stood up, and left the dining hall...
"So Glade, what can we do know? The headmaster said we can do anything we want to do!"
"We can go to the woods if you want" Glade suggested.
"The woods? but... Is it part of the premises?" I asked.
"Well... it's a little off the orphanage, but the headmaster said we can do whatever we want" Glade uttered.
"Well you're right, but what if we get lost? Or caught? Kidnapped? Maybe it's best to just stay here." I suggested.
"Come on Kalem! You love adventuring right? we'll just take a sneak peek at the forest then we can go. There are no kidnappers there... trust me."
"Why do you want to even go to the woods Glade?"
"If you are willing to come, I'll show you when we get there," Glade answered.
"But what if we get lost?"
"Are you always like this? We'll be safe I promise." Glade told me.
I decided to come with Glade, we just met so I still don't fully trust him that much. Why does he want to go to the woods? What does he want to show me?
