The next morning after she woke up from her much-needed sleep, she threw on a random pair of jeans and a t-shirt and went to the kitchen.
When she got to the kitchen she was warmly greeted by her grandfather, and he immediately signaled the kitchen staff to bring out her breakfast as she sat down next to him.
Hayden was sitting across from them and upon seeing his grandfather's actions, he couldn't help but sigh at the difference in treatment. He had gotten downstairs a little while before Serenity and his grandfather didn't even acknowledge him.
Serenity looked over at her brother who was shaking his head and acting like an abandoned puppy, "Goodmorning Hayden." She said and smiled innocently at him like she wasn't aware of the blatant bias her grandfather showed.
Despite the teasing from their grandfather, they both knew he loved them both, it was just fun to mess with her brother.
Hayden heard Serenity and looked up to see her smile, "Awh, my baby sis is cute today too." He immediately cheered up and spoke.
Serenity could feel her lip twitch and chose to ignore him during the rest of the meal.
Seeing this Hayden just rubbed his head in a confused manner and started eating as well when his breakfast was set in front of him.
After eating, her grandfather left to go the headquarters, and Hayden planned to go later today, first he was going over to Colton's buisness empire for a meeting.
Seeing his sister with nothing to do, he immediately felt a light bulb over his head, "Renren right don't you come with me today, I have a meeting first, but I'm sure you won't be bored." He said quickly looking at her with puppy dog eyes.
Serenity considered it for a moment and then responded, "Sure, I didn't have anything going on today anyways."
Hayden fist pumped the air in victory with a smug smile on his face as he thought, 'Those bastards will be so jealous and I can show off my adorable baby sister."
Serenity could practically read his thoughts from his facial expressions and just rolled her eyes at his antics.
He ran upstairs to get ready and Serenity just put a baseball cap on and her long hair was left down as it cascaded in waves down her back, she was honestly just too lazy to do anything with it, so she took advantage of no one being around to nag her.
Serenity may be petite, but she would probably be able to make even rags look good on her. Although she dressed casually, she was still like a breath of fresh air as she walked outside to wait for her brother to pull some ridiculously expensive car up to the front door.
Hayden had picked out a bright yellow super car and drove it over with a proud look on his face.
Seeing the car, Serenity just sighed helplessly as she got inside and sat down. Her brother really didn't know the first thing about being low-key, he was rather flamboyant in flaunting his wealth. She should pay more attention to his security detail from now, lest the boy encounters a thief early on.
When they arrived at Colton's empire as they called it, they parked in the underground garage and took the VIP elevator to the top floor.
When they got out of the elevator, Hayden led them into a confence room where the guys were and happened to see a pissed off Luke glaring at Braxton who had Melody sitting on his lap.
"When did that happen?" Hayden questioned, and Serenity wasn't surprised at all as she felt they would announce their relationship soon, she just thought they would at least tell Luke about it beforehand. Guess not.
"That's what I would like to know!" Luke said as he crossed his arms.
Hayden took a seat randomly and Serenity went to follow, but was pulled backwards.
She immediately knew the perpetrator and sent an icy glare at him, but she should have known that stupid sex god wouldn't care and just pulled her to sit down next to him.
He smirked as she silently and obediently sat down with her arms folded and angry pout, seeing her like this was nearly just asking to be kissed, not that Serenity would think so, she was clearly annoyed, okay? She just didn't want to make a scene.
"Luke, can you chill out and stop acting so protective, it's not like I never dated before." Melody said.
Braxton pinched her thigh when he heard that and she glared at him and pinched his hand away and gave him another look as if saying, 'not like your so innocent.'
Braxton couldn't hold back a chuckle when he recieved that look, she was right, but no one could compare to her and his possessiveness toward her was something no one could rival except maybe Colton's possessiveness toward Serenity who has yet to acknowledge him.
Luke replied to Melody, "You know it's different, those boys were scum and you clearly didn't care for them, not to mention Braxton is my friend!"
"Exactly and as your friend, don't you feel relieved to know she is safer with me than anyone else." Braxton said quickly.
Luke actually had to think about this one, he knew Braxton would take care of his sister, and although he had a past history of being a playboy, he didn't actually care about or do anything with those girls he was rumored to be with.
Although he didn't want to, he begrudgingly replied, "Okay, but I'm still not happy about it."
Melody was shocked at how easy he gave in, she thought for sure, she'd have to spend a week coaxing him and threatening starvation for him to accept them being together.
Braxton only had a knowing grin on his face, when has Luke every won any argument against him.
After the nonsense was over the men started talking business which straight put Melody to sleep and made an uninterested Serenity yawn.
She stood up and without a care walked over to Colton's office, walked inside and grabbed a soft blanket he kept inside and curled up on the couch in the office and decided a morning nap was never a bad idea.
Colton couldn't help but smile as he watched the little girl walk around like she owned the place. Afterall, she would one day be his wife, he was happy she wasn't shy about it.
Serenity had no idea what he was thinking, she was just tired and felt the blanket calling to her as she looked outside of the conference room at the see-through floor to ceiling glass walls that separated the CEO's office from other rooms distinctively.
Hayden saw this scene and although he felt guilty that they ended up talking about boring things, he thought his sister was cute and looked like a small animal as she got comfortable on the couch and fell asleep.
Hayden couldn't help but brag, "I bet you guys wish you had a sister as cute as my Serenity."
Colton showed a face as if he was looking at an idiot, 'Why would he need a sister like her, she would be his wife in the near future.' He didn't say anything and continued with his business, leaving Hayden ignored and no chance for others to respond.
Bum bum bum planning some cliche office drama for next chapter. ALSO in other news, I got two new bunnies, Cinnabun and Oreo, their a Holland lop and Lionhead and I'm obsessed.
