Chapter 38 — Heaven Dou Imperial Academy (2)
Ning Chen was sitting inside a carriage and currently holding a small mirror. He was examining his face and notice something changed.
His sharp and well-proportioned face still looked handsome as usual with his large, deeply mesmerizing amethyst eyes.
The thing that caught his eyes was his pink glossy hair that have a single white bangs now.
Ning Chen tried cutting the single white bangs, but it simply grew again while still being white.
There was nothing he could do about it and eventually came to accept it.
The single white bangs didn't really damaged his looks, but just added a slight change.
The carriage soon reached the outskirts of the Heaven Dou City, the capital of the Heaven Dou Empire.
The carriage didn't entered inside the city and instead went toward the path leading to the mountains.
The Heaven Dou Imperial Academy was located outside the city since it's size was enormous.
It was instead located at the mountains which was located near the Heaven Dou City.
Ning Chen soon arrived close to the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy's large gates.
He stepped out of the carriage after paying and slowly walked to the academy's gate.
The large gate appeared very grand as if it was casted out of gold and stood intimidating tall.
Ning Chen was about to enter the academy, but quickly encountered trouble.
"Halt! What have you came here for?" A guard blocked Ning Chen's path using his metal spear.
The guard closely inspected Ning Chen's appearance and he didn't seemed to be a noble.
"This is the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy and outsiders may not enter — even more so with a peasant like you. Leave this place now or I'll drag you away myself," The guard threateningly said with hints of mockery into it.
Ning Chen was confused to hear the guard calling him a peasant and then looked at himself.
He quickly realized something and chuckled lightly in embarrassment.
He was wearing his common-looking clothes and not his expensive, beautiful clothes.
Ning Chen was now too used to this kind of clothings since he had wore it for many years.
He felt wearing expensive clothings were now just now too uncomfortable and stiff.
Ning Chen, however, thought this troublesome situation can be quickly solved by showing his scroll about his enrollment.
He was about to take out the scroll, but encountered another trouble.
"Stop! What's your purpose for coming here, peasant?" A dozen-plus teens wearing the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy's uniforms, approached Ning Chen with a mocking expression.
"Good grief," Ning Chen felt he was somehow unlucky today.
He narrowed his eyes and stared at those teens who wore an arrogant expression.

Ning Chen wore a funny expression and was barely able to contain his laughter from releasing.
They were just too silly and immature for their age.

Ning Chen gave the youths a mocking expression and then suddenly questioned himself.
If he didn't left the clan early, would he have acted spoiled and silly like them?

The leader of the youths saw Ning Chen looking at them mockingly and quickly grew angry.
He charged toward Ning Chen with his fist heading toward Ning Chen's face.
Ning Chen rolled his eyes, feeling this was just an unnecessary trouble. He saw the fist moving slowly and avoided it attack easily.
The leader lost his balance after missing his punch and Ning Chen didn't missed this chance.
Ning Chen abruptly grabbed the leader by his throat and raised him entirely to the air.
The leader struggled intensely as he couldn't breath properly, but it was impossible for him to escape Ning Chen's hands.
As a result, the leader began to feel afraid of slowly not being able to breath and felt his pants getting wet.
"You better keep your mouth close next time and stop wasting my time. You hear me clearly?" Ning Chen asked while smiling thinly and then threw the leader toward his friends.
The leader landed painfully on the ground as he gasped intensely for air. He started to massage his throat which has a visible red handprints of Ning Chen.
He quickly glared at Ning Chen furiously and was blinded with rage.
"Kill that damn mongrel! How dare he lay his hand on me!" The leader shouted loudly while pointing his finger at Ning Chen.
The other students quickly charged toward Ning Chen after hearing those words.
Ning Chen's eyes turned cold. He merely gave them a side-look and quickly revolved his body around, kicking them all toward the ground at the same time.
He looked toward them with clear disappointment.
"You guys are all barks and can't even bite me in the end," Ning Chen sneered at them, "If the heaven dou Imperial academy only have trashes like you, then it seems like I came to the wrong place."
The leader's face turned flushed red with anger, but when he was about to talk about, he saw Ning Chen's amethyst eyes giving him an intense bone-chilling and bloodthirsty aura.
A four rotating spirit rings appeared around Ning Chen that brought an enormous and extremely heavy pressure to them
The youths were all pressed down hardly to the ground under this unbearable pressure and couldn't even move.

The guard hurriedly nodded and guided Ning Chen inside the academy.

One of the youths stood up with trembling legs and cold sweats drenching his back.

The board of education's building was one of the biggest building located at the very center of the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.
Ning Chen and the guard soon arrived in front of an office room.
The guard then excused himself, leaving Ning Chen alone.
Ning Chen knocked loudly on the door and immediately heard a response.
"You may enter."
Ning Chen opened the door of the office and quickly entered inside the room.
Inside the office room, Ning Chen saw three elders who were all attired in black robes, on which were embroidered with some fantastic designs in golden thread. They also have a mysterious aura around them.
"Three Spirit Doulou?" Ning Chen was inwardly surprised. It was no wonder the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy was one of the most prestigious academy inside the empire.
He quickly approached them and stopped in front of them.
"I, Ning Chen of the Seven Treasure Clan, greets you all," Ning Chen greeted them plainly without even bowing respectfully.
The three elders were quite displeased at Ning Chen's lack of respect, but they had to maintain their steady and calm image.
The elder located at the middle, stood up and extended his hand toward Ning Chen.
"Welcome to our humble academy. I'm the head of the Board Of Education; Meng Shenji; my spirit is the black goblin and a rank 86 control system spirit douluo."
Ning Chen quickly shook Meng Shenji's hand.
After his self-introduction, Meng Shenji introduced the other two elders besides him.
The fat elder was called Bai Baoshan and his spirit was the Heaven Star Furnace and a rank 85 defense system douluo.
The skinny elder was called Zhi Lin and his spirit being the Sky Blue Vine and a rank 83 control system spirit douluo.
"Ning Chen, we're all glad to see enrolling at our humble academy. It's not after all common for us to have a student who is also the young master of one of the upper clans."

"No, do you perhaps not like it?"
"The uniform is great, but I prefer to wear casual common clothes," Ning Chen responded.
"Hmmm, okay. Then let us meet your guide," Meng Shenji motioned for Ning Chen to follow him.
Ning Chen nodded and silently followed Meng Shenji.
They went toward the lobby room and there was a delicate-looking man standing there.
He was a handsome youth, not tall and had moderate weight with short golden hair and a pair of extremely bright eyes.
Meng Shenji and Ning Chen quickly approached the youth.
"This is one of our most talented students and he will be your guide. You can ask him about anything," Meng Shenji explained toward Ning Chen.
The youth stepped forward and properly introduced himself, "I'm Yu Feng, it's nice to meet you, buddy."
"Likewise," Ning Chen nodded while smiling widely and strangely felt Yu Feng was kinda similar to Xue Qinghe.
It was not about their appearance, but their aura that resembled a girls.
Yu Feng was mesmerized seeing Ning Chen's shining smile that further reinforced his already handsome face.
His cheeks couldn't help, but reddened slightly.
Ning Chen noticed Yu Feng's face turning red while looking at him and was a bit skeptical.

Ning Chen nodded in understanding and asked more questions.
"Is there a higher rank than Heaven Dou Level?"
"Indeed, there is a higher one, but it's just a special level. It's called the Emperor Dou Level and only the very strongest and talented students of the academy can belonged to it."
"I see..." Ning Chen was quite curious to see strength of people from the Emperor Dou Level.
Yu Feng smiled sneakily seeing Ning Chen's expression and said, "Don't worry, you'll soon meet with them because you'll have a combat exam with them to determine if you belonged to Heaven Dou or Emperor Dou Level."
As soon as he finished saying that, they stopped in front of a large domineering building.
There was a massive signboard at the top of the building.
The signboard read as the Imperial Palace.
It was the imperial palace, the home of the emperors.
