Blade's eyes flew open, mirroring her shock as the two of them sprang to a sitting position. "She…"

"She's coming."

"You said?" He heard it quite well and Astrid was sure of that, but it was shocking still and she understood.

What would she have done had she not erected the barrier and then Isadora walked in on them making love?

Her eyes flew open in a great deal of shock as she looked around the cave.

"Calm down. Calm down. I would speak to her."

"No, you can't," she cut in quickly. "Mother cannot see you now."

His eyes stung at her words. Was she ashamed of him or something?

"Hey," she called out sweetly sensing his feelings. "I am not ashamed of you, Blade. I love you and I am happy to show you to the world as mine. However, some recent events have taken place since after the war and my mum is like a ticking bomb."

"Let me speak to her."
