'The answers that you seek. Not everything that you see is what it seems. Looks can be deceiving.'

She opened her eyes. "Looks can be deceiving," Astrid repeated out loud. "Looks can be deceiving so mother says. Hmm."

She took one more look around and somehow she just knew what to do.

Taking a few steps forward and entering the space where the land was, Astrid stopped took a deep breath and then smiled.

"Fortland never once was lost. Looks can be deceiving. She never left didn't she?"

As she opened her mouth to speak next, it was the exact same words her mother had taught her she began to utter. In the same vein, she felt her hands tingle and when she looked at them, saw her hands start to light up, as her powers began to flow within her.
