Capítulo 33: Never Unarmed
Ulric headed back to the town entrance, Harvey had told him about the transport so he was curious to see what it was, he walked up to the little desk and greeted the man,
"where to?" the man asked obviously bored out of his mind,
"Elswind city, please," Ulric politely asked
"2 gold," came the robotic response,
he payed and the man pointed to a donkey, explaining all he had to do was sit on it and hold on, walking up to the creature it was tiny, it looked more like a dog, Ulric was Huge by comparison, and it also looked thin and underfed, and if he sat on it he was sure he'd crush it, but he had paid so...
Ulric arrived back in the city shocked, the donkey trotted off looking oddly smug, it felt like he was sat on top of a bullet train, he was a little wobbly, and a little nauseous.
After taking a few deep breaths and steadying himself he looked at the city map on the wall, there were a few places that interested him, the fighter's hall, the warriors arena, and the Temple, although he used weapons he had never picked up a sword, and his earlier experience of fighting barehanded felt more natural, so he headed for the temple.
It didn't take him long to find it, surrounded by gardens with teen boys and girls doing various martial arts, it seemed to be mixing many styles, he walked towards the small building, it was surprisingly small about the size of a house, with white walls and a roof which was triangular and extended 1 to 2 meters beyond the walls, sat inside was an old man, bald with a long white beard, seemingly in deep meditation, as Ulric was about to tap the man to get his attention someone stopped him, a young woman maybe in he early 30's gently took hold of his hand,
"Don't disturb him, if your looking for the trainer, that's me, my name is Summer," she said gently
"oh, um, he's not?"
"no, he is a student, and has been for a long time," she smiled and led Ulric over to a wooden training dummy, "now did you come here to become a student?"
A window appeared before Ulric:
Class quest unlocked: show your power, to accept say yes or nod, to reject say no
rewards:
new subclass
passive skill: hardened fists
Ulric looked at the frozen face of Summer and nodded, she unfroze,
"excellent, all you need to do is deliver one punch to this training dummy, it will measure your strength and if you are powerful enough you pass,"
"that simple?" he asked surprised
"yes that simple, we don't go for long drawn out tests, when a simple punch will do the job,"
"ok then, if you say so..."
Ulric took up position before the dummy, and decided not to hold back, he needed an attack class.
He threw the punch and struck the dummy, which exploded into bits completely pulverized by his power, he glanced around sheepishly and everyone was staring at him.
