I couldn't help but look over my shoulder as I made my way away from the tall wooden racks. I wanted to see whether or not I was being followed by him. I knew I was more or less being paranoid, but it was only understandable in my case. 

For some reason, I couldn't help but be on a high alert mode every single time Aden was around. Things weren't as simple as before. They were easy to manage when I had first joined the college, but then this happened. Aden fell for me, and somewhere along the ride of friendship, I also began to develop feelings for him. But I was too scared to accept them.

More than scared, I was worried about him. I couldn't be selfish enough to put his life on risk, at least not until the hunters were gone for good, every last one of them. Then, and only then, would I be able to become bold enough to embrace what I truly felt towards him.
