Kear was back in the bathroom of the space station during the summit. She looked in the mirror, but saw Veno and not herself. She stepped back and screamed, falling on her butt. Kear crawled as fast as she could towards the door, but stopped short of opening it. A darkness in her heart stopped her, she had a feeling she knew what would happen on the other side of that door. Each beat of her heart increased the pressure she felt coming from the door.
Suddenly she woke up.
She looked around but everything was blurry and it was hard to feel. She fell out of her bed on to the floor. Kear couldn't stand up because she couldn't sustain her balance. Actually her head felt numb, like she didn't have a head. But she knew this was real as the floor hurt her.
She could move her body, but she couldn't balance it. She would have thought her head didn't exist if it wasn't for some blurry images coming from her eyes.
'What is happening, Kear?'
'I don't know.'
'Kear I can move my head!'
'And I can move the body.'
Then it clicked for both of them. Veno could move around his head, talk, smell, and taste. Kear could move the legs and arms around.
'My body feels numb. Can you try standing up?'
'Give me a sec.'
Kear leveraged herself up using the bed trying to balance her body. She was shaking trying to find some equilibrium. The best she could do now was to crawl.
'Can you look up Veno? It's so blurry, tell me how to adjust my arm.'
They spent all the time they could attempting to stand up without falling over. Veno had seen the clock and they had spent about three hours working on it. Then Granno walked in the room. The scene was a trembling young boy using the chair at the desk for balance. It was like watching an elder using a walker.
"What are you doing?"
"My body feels a little weak bro, can you help me to the bathroom?"
"Sure…"
'Nice one, but I ain't doing it in front of Granno.'
'Do you really need to worry about that Kear?'

After hobbling over to the bathroom, they took their time taking care of business and daily hygiene. They kicked Granno out, otherwise Kear would have broken down from embarrassment. Sure she embarrassed herself yesterday, but that was to try to get Veno back.
With Veno able to talk, they both wanted to see Rin. With Granno's help they moved towards Rin and were dropped off. Granno went to get ready himself, while Veno explained the current situation to Rin.
With Veno able to talk, they had much to talk about. Kear didn't want to interrupt and worked on moving their body more accurately.
A little bit later after everything was explained, Rin told them to stay home. They couldn't even move on their own, so there wasn't much they could do. Rin had the try to eat breakfast, but ended up having to feed them due to the mess.
Thankfully Rin wasn't too burdened as volunteers arrived to help out today. They all were experts in social work.

Moving back to their room, they worked to a point where they could function. Working as a team they were able to walk straight ahead. In a sense they were like the other children learning to walk for their first time.
Another hour after that and it would be about time that school ended. They were sweating a lot like it was a normal workout. They finally were able to coordinate. Kear essentially didn't use her vision and followed Veno's commands. Walk, back, left, right. Simple commands like that worked wonders for them.
When they had to do more detailed work like using a pen or fork, then Kear opened her eyes. There was still difficulty, but enough where they could function.
'Kear you need to rest. I can barely catch my breath.'
'I can feel our heart pumping fast. I agree and we made a lot of progress so far.'
