Capítulo 6: 'Seeing Stars'

As I lean back and listen to my sis she frowned taking in everything I told her. Chewing on her lip, she brushed her hair back. Sighing with impatience she flinched from the pain, her eyes glazed over. I grabbed the nurse button pressing it quickly realizing my sis was in pain. I got up ticking her pillow behind her growing concerned. Giving me a reassuring smile as she closed her eyes. I brushed her chestnut brown hair back. Blowing my stray black hair back, seriously thinking about a hair cut. The nurse walked in with a needle and some medication. She nodded gently acknowledge my presence as I stepped back. The nurse looked at my sis concerned putting the medicine in the IV than gently coxed her to take the pills. I patiently wait making sure the nurse is gently with my sis. I'm impressed as the nurse turns to me stating firmly,

"Your sister has been injured she's recovering well. Yet now she needs rest, come back in the morning. You can call to check on her. We need her to rest from her injuries." Saigen nodded blowing a kiss to his sister as he left the room. I was thinking quietly about her confession, as I opened my cell phone by punching in my numbered code. Scanning threw my phone I hesitate watching the video that has been sent to the Sheriff from my sis's phone number. I frowned getting more suspicious, as I remembered the Sheriff's words repeat through my mind. I walked by the the nurses station, as a doctor gives a nurse specific instructions. Knowing they're busy with the casualties that has been coming in pace maker patients appearing in the ER due to the electrical storm. Just realizing the lights through the hospital had only been using emergency back ups for power. Why hadn't I realized that before I wonder. Strange my sis had been watching tv when I approached her. The news had been blaring about all the news coverage on the casualties from the electric storm. Odd I had thought the hospital had full power when I arrived, though I remembered the Sheriff telling us by reports that the hospital had lost power for a few hours due to the bus depot blackout.

Strangely when I appeared it had full power now as I leave, I become aware of the hospital's blackout. Walking out to the parking lot, I get into my car. And my radio blares of a break in at the mall on 9th ave north. I grumble realizing this night was going to be a long night. Pulling out of the er parking lot I take off blaring my sirens, turning left and right taking short cuts through the city to get there. Not using my radio to announce my arrival to due the electrical interference. They probably wouldn't get my response, as I pull into the mall parking lot. The storm above me rumbles, and rolls with dangerous intentions, as lightning streaks through the dark clouds. The robbers run out the front door, spinning my steering just right I slid sides ways blocking the first robbers path. He slides over the hood of my car landing on his feet with a perfect land. As another one comes running out trying to find something in his jacket as a security officer runs right after him. The security officer leaps taking down the robber. They both land with an umph, as a gun slides across the parking lot under my car. I go into a full sprint gaining speed on the other robber.

When a streak of light passes me, almost blinding me and a cry echoes behind me. I increase my speed grabbing the bag on the other robbers shoulders. I'm suddenly sliding as another streak of light flashes in front of me. The robbers jerks throwing his head back as a bolt of lightning strikes his chest. I'm blinded for a few seconds, thinking if this robber had a knife it would only take a few seconds to take me down. I blinded my eyes multiple times finally regaining my sight with a few blinking spots in my vision. Thank I smell melted rubber, and something else burnt. I wrinkle my nose to the smell, disgusted by the repulsive smell. I hate the smell of melted rubber. I wiggle my toes to make sure I can still feel them. When a loud bang hits the ground. I look down to see the bag with the stolen merchandize. The robber no were in sight, looking back to the security officer who's uniform is smoking, yet no visible burns. He's blue eyes wide, he's blonde hair covered in streaks of ash. Unable to speak he just stares at the clouds above us. I look up seeing chain lightning move through its depths. The clouds sparking and his with more dangerous intentions. Shaking my head, still blinking my eyes to get rid of the spots before my eyes. I grab the bag walking to the officer and handing him the stolen merchandise.

He reaches out and grabs both bags and walks into the mall, me close behind him. Handing the merchandize to a young woman in her thirties. Who gasped and quickly took the merchandize into the back. I kept an eye on the security officer, growing more concerned on he's not responding personality. So I do what my gut tells me, call 911. Finally they answer keeping my fingers crossed they can hear everything I'm telling them. A moments later, the paramedics show up, one I recognize. He nods in my direction as he wrinkles his nose to the smell of burnt rubber, and fabric. Checking the security officer, confirmed he's in shock. Than he approaches me,

"Hey Deputy Saigen you alright?"

"Yeah, guess I just like to burn rubber." The paramedic raises a brow leans forward stating with a smirk,

" You need to learn how to park man, those skid marks are never going to get off of that pavement."

"Guess I like to leave and impression. Maybe leave a memory here and there."

The paramedic smirked walking to the ambulance as he adjusted the bed to slide it in. Locking it into place, as I just realized the ambulance was right in the building. I look at the sign on the door this time I lift a brow. No parking Allowed. I can't help the laughter bubbling in my chest as I walk out to my car with an uneven step. I wiggle my toes satisfied with my foot responses I jump into my car. This time I head home, hoping all this is only a dream. Feeling the sudden exhaustion move through my body. I had already been up more than 24 hours and my body was letting me know. I closed my eyes for a brief second as the spots cleared in my vision. I could still hear, feel, and see as the lightning strike flashed through my memory. As my mind took in all the information, I tapped the button on my phone. My garage responds with a slight delay, I pulled into my garage as the door, sealed out the early morning light. Well what escape the storm above, turning on my flashlight. I headed straight for the back door. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed with a pillow over my head. As a song began to play on my phone, Rock You. I sighed, as the song plays. Good grief I thought, another coming with all these strange weird happenings. When would life get back to normal, or would I finally wake the help up.
