Capítulo 53: Chapter 53
It was a few hours before he started to stir again, pressing his muzzle into the fur and taking in a breath. It was a moment before noticing something strange, smelling something that wouldn't make sense on the rest of his family. His quick breath takes in the scent of something like jam. The strange scent might have made more sense if he was waking up in the town.
He didn't open his eyes, staying still almost worried a sudden movement could be dangerous. It wasn't hard to guess just what might have been spooned by him. He does feel something over his back, it might have been his mother of the vixens. But, he could vaguely tell where they were. Being some distance away from him.
For a second, he was worried that something had snuck in and he had wound up curling up with it. The realization his mother and the vixens would have reacted to something dangerous gives him the courage to look through his eyes with a slit. It didn't help, since all he could see was blackness, though that almost seemed familiar. He pulls his head back finally confirming his words were unfounded, what he was resting on, and what he was had resting on him was more familiar then he though. The black fur of Dusk still had the scent of berries even from the new distances he had created, making it obvious what had been her dinner.
Ramsey on the other hand wasn't so obvious, though the little bit of drool falling from his lips gives a definite idea that he had found something he enjoyed. When the wolf shifts, the ram just rolls down the body, it almost made him think that the ram might roll over his tail. Just before it does, it seems like the ram raises his head enough, knowing just what was going to happen.
It was like the ram had some sort of skateboarding trick with his head. The wolf was a little amused, but slowly snuck out of the pile. The ram now moving to rest on the ground. It didn't seem to have minded the fact that his pillow had moved. The wolf was starting to think about what he needed to do. His mind was a little sharper having had the chance to just blank by himself.
It was a peaceful feeling like there was nothing else inside of his head. The fact that no one else was awake helped him with his planning. He already knew there was maybe a few more predators that lived around the base of the mountain, the fact that he would have to circle for maybe days. He really had no idea if this was just a singular mountain, or if it was a range, which would make trying to circle a fruitless endeavor. The fact that there was a pack of rats higher up made him think of going higher up to try and see if there is something easy to fight.
For the next hour, he just watches the outside of the cave, his mind making plans and preparing to get going as soon as the other's were awake. The first stirrings were Azure and Lapis. Heads perked up and ready to play almost as soon as there were both up. For a few minutes no one else was up, until everyone had been soaked, with only Tortuga still asleep, even after having it's shell pressure washed. There wasn't a scratch on it, not really a surprise to the wolf, but it was still amazing, since it could still pit the ground a half inch.
It was amusing to watch as Dusk and Ramsey looked like they were a pair of drowned, well ram and rabbit. His mother looking at the pair, almost as if thinking that staring long enough would. Cause the pair to suddenly combust and be perfect to dry her fur. Nadia however was the most peaceful and just rolls back over, until Syren decides she shouldn't be the only one to keep asleep, ignoring the fact there was a huge tortoise still sleeping the time away.
He almost chuckles, watching Syren drop down on the smaller mother, it almost sounds like it was heavy. The vixen's eyes popping open and sliding out as quick as possible, Turning into a puddle and suddenly standing, staring at Syren, while Syren just starts to stare at her paw, acting as if nothing happened.
It took a bit to get everyone ready for his plans, Azure and Lapis still using streams of water to hit the other, circling around, not even noticing there is even more people in the cave. Only when they start moving do they notice, lines of drool forming on their lips as they stare at Dusk, thinking about how delicious the rabbit looks.
