Capítulo 24: Capital City Athelney
"Alright girls, so here's the plan, I have three requests that we will finish on our way to the Capital. Whenever we reach a new town or city we will turn them in and get three more. All of these will be as high ranked as we can get, by the time we all reach the Capital both of you will have reached Mid A adventurer rank." Xantos carefully told us the plan for going to the capital and it was pretty straight forward.
"I don't have a problem with that, sounds like a solid plan," I said in a nonchalant tone.
"Me too, I trust your judgment didn't get worse with an additional 23 years of life, otherwise I'd be pretty disappointed," Aurelia said mirthfully, a slight smirk forming on her face.
"Come on Aurelia, no teasing you two will just start fighting again," I said silently scooting away from the possibly ensuing conflict.
"Hey, say what you will about my judgment, but at least I never fell asleep on the bus, right before I got home," a vicious smirk showed itself on his face as he countered Aurelia's tease. Seeing the look of shock at the comeback he replied, "what, you think I hadn't worked on making comebacks for you in the 23 years I've been waiting? I won't be as easy to tease anymore. Alright girl's we gotta move, we have a lot to do if you want to get to the capital and reach mid A rank in a month and a half, let's go!"
"I was not prepared for that, didn't think he'd respond so fast, I'm gonna need to be more... tricky with my snide comments, huhu this is going to be fun," Aurelia said to me, an excited grin plastered on her face.
"Ooooor, or, we could just not tease him anymore, that would be so much better," I commented trying to keep the peace between the both of them, even though I knew that wouldn't happen. Sighing to myself inwardly I shook my head and smiled knowing that it was just how they showed each other they cared.
"Yaaa, that's not fun, so I'd rather not, besides you know I love that goofball," she said while looking at him with a fond expression on her face.
"I know you do, we all had to do our fair share of protecting him, he could be pretty dense sometimes, but he has a way of making people feel like their wanted, I don't know how he does it." Saying this I remember how he was my shoulder to cry on when my parents first kicked me out for liking girls as well, and not just guys. It was nice to know that there was someone who cared about me, and even though things never worked out for us we still had that solid friendship just like before.
Over the next month and a half the four of us, including Tyrion Xantos' dragon wyrmling, finished over forty requests from the guild getting us up to mid A rank. Not only that but from being able to skin so many different types of beasts of high quality, and improving my skills I was able to rank Skinning/Tanning up to Intermediate 1, though with no time to do leatherworking that saw no improvement.
We walked over the final hill as the Athelney showcased it's majesty to us on the horizon. Miles of farmland extended outside of the city, with a variety of different crops. Many large buildings and mansions were in the central part of the city while a huge crowds flocked through the marketplace. The sun was close to setting casting a beautiful orange over the city, as it prepared to close its gates.
"Welcome to the capital city of Artia, Athelney," Xantos said as he turned to face us, with his arms spread wide and a smile on his face. "Let's hurry, the gates should be closing soon and you don't want to be camping outside for another day do you?"

XantosZ Sorry for taking over a month to update, I was blocked on how I should proceed, not to mention having to take so many harder college courses. I decided to get an english major, and that writing is taking up a lot of time. I'll try to update once a week, but I'm not sure how that is going to pan out. Again if any of you have an idea you have for the story I'm up for suggestions. I'll also be posting a one off short story if any of you want to read it, it's called Starting the Fourth Era.
