"Anyways, can I ask you a question?" Bryan was a bit hesitant about it but he ended up asking.
Adriana gave him a nod and waited to hear his question.
"Did you meet him and if so how was your meeting with him?" He asked. Adriana arched an eyebrow and she laughed. "It was not as bad as I expected, that's probably because Aria appeared before him first. I'm sure things would have been way different if Aria did not manage to get close to him." She responded.
"I still kinda want to meet him. Haha, seven years is a very long time. Before we met occasionally we never had a proper conversation, I can tell he has changed a lot but I'm sure I can still get under his skin." Bryan smirked at his thoughts.
"Bryan, you are courting death. That wish of yours is quite silly." At her words, Bryan just shrugged. "Now that you are back, do you think he will kill me as soon as he sees me?" Bryan asked.
Adriana stood up and placed the computer on the island. She then went to the fridge and brought out some water.
"I don't know why you are asking this." She replied while she poured herself a glass of water.
"Whether I say yes or no does it matter? You moved on I moved on and so has he. Let's just not bring up the past anymore. You know there aren't all sweet memories." Adriana warned him. She understood that he liked to provoke Noah but she didn't want any more of the past drama.
Bryan could have been considered a love rival to Noah once. Bryan's urge to provoke him constantly harmed their relationship and Briana had taken advantage of that.
Bryan stayed quiet after her words. "I don't understand. How can you speak to me like the senior I am to you and a friend after all of my sins? I hurt you badly and to this day I don't get it." He sighed.
"Hmm, don't think too much into it." She responded.
After a few minutes of talking they bid goodbye. Adriana walked towards Aria and she picked her up in her arms.
"Let's go to sleep." She told her.
"Isn't it too early mommy?" Aria asked, suppressing a yawn. Adriana chuckled and said, "We are both tired, we can have a movie night tomorrow okay?"
Aria nodded in agreement and she laid her head on her mother's shoulder. After a few minutes, she closed her eyes and fell into a peaceful slumber.
Adriana laid her down on the bed and she pulled the comforter over her body. She then changed into a nightdress.
Though she too was tired she decided to go to the balcony and take some fresh air. She used that time to organize her thoughts.
Things were going faster than she expected. She was quite thrilled. She could not wait to meet Briana.
"Hoh….." Just the thought made her feel so powerful. She placed her shoulders on the edge and she looked down. She could never get tired of the view.
*******
'You look so beautiful tonight.' He looked at her face from a distance and he tried not to stare but it was quite difficult.
Wouldn't other people do the same if they were in his situation? It's been so long since he last saw her and he thought he would never see her again aside from his dreams. Now, looking at her beautiful face he just wanted to continue staring forever. Since things have happened so quickly these days he never got the chance to take a proper look at her.
Though she still had that baby face of hers, her body haad matured in various ways….She had also let her hair grow out. It's way longer then it was in the past. Back then she wouldn't let her hair grow past her neck.
As soon as it reached near her shoulders she would cut it off.
He liked her short hair but he had to admit, the long hair suited her way better.
"Shouldn't I hate her?" He whispered to himself. She did refuse to reach out to him through all these years. Thinking she was dead was such a big torture. What did he ever do to deserve that? Her death hurt like hell but knowing she had been alive all along and didn't bother to at least tell him, broke him and made him feel way worse.
Why is it so painful to love her? He wondered. Being with her is the best feeling in the world but being away from her like this is the worst. It's like she can cure and yet poison him.
He sighed.
She turned around to leave and he thought their eyes met but it was too dark where he was. He had left all his lights off so that she wouldn't notice him.
She shrugged and walked inside after realizing there was no one there.
Noah waited for the balcony door to close before he stepped outside. He glanced at the neighboring balcony and he pursed his lips
Chris: Where did you go off too?
He looked down at his phone and typed an answer.
Chris: A hotel? What do you need a hotel for? Don't tell me you are thinking of having one of those one night stands?
Noah: Shut up.
He rolled his eyes and shut off his phone. He placed it in his pocket and went back inside.
What would have happened if he had stepped outside and met her outside the balcony? Would they be able to have a peaceful conversation? What would they even talk about?
He froze when he heard the balcony door opening again.
He gripped onto the rear. He bit his tongue and stayed quiet.
"...."
Adriana who had her laptop, pencils and a sketch pad on her arms stiffened. She flipped the light on for the balcony and as soon as she did she recognized his figure.
'Won't it be weird if I go back in?' She bit her lip and hesitantly placed down her items in the small table. She sat down in the comfortable wide chair. She pulled the blanket over her after sitting in a criss-cross position.
She then opened her laptop to the files she had to organize. That was a super easy task so she finished in less than 20 minutes.
She then pulled out a few plans and started sketching. She was going to sleep because she was tired but as soon as she laid her head on the pillow, she got the perfect idea. This was not new to her since the best ideas always come in the middle of the night and interrupt her sleep.
*A/N: I feel ya I really do…..
"Work at this hour?" He suddenly asked not turning around and neither did she. "It's not that late." She answered.
"Whatever…." He turned around and he unexpectedly met her eyes. He was stuck staring at her. The plan was going inside but….
The same went for her. She turned around and she couldn't look away.
The first one to cut off their staring was him. He walked inside his room and closed the door.
Adriana gripped the pencil in her hand. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. A second later the pencil in her hand snapped in two.
Why did it have to become like this?
What did they do wrong?
What went wrong? No….she knew the answer to that question.
