Roberto was not a terribly patient man. The Salt Lake airport being blocked off caused a lot of inconvenience. Because of the snow he couldn't even drive through the canyon roads that would let him into the state for weeks.
Once the airport reopened he could technically fly but didn't want to leave any record of being there. Plane tickets require IDs.
Gold was a somewhat proficient hacker in his own right and one could never be too careful. Nothing could go through official channels if he was going to make this work.
Artie had wished him luck in a rather morbid way before Roberto finally left on his stakeout mission. With a smile and a salute, he said, "If this backfires on you, please be sure to let Mr. Gold know that I don't know his real name, don't care to find out, and that this was all your idea."
He scowled. Did that idiot really think he would fail? Or more to the point, that Gold would listen to such reasoning?
If I get fifth place in the contest I'll do a 7 chapter mass release for this story (2 as usual plus 5 more) so please go check out my submission Bloody Rich and drop your stones there instead of here this week <3
