Capítulo 16: Wrath Of The Maidens

It was deep into the midnight when Dhruva reached the orphanage.

The main door was locked; however he had no difficulty in climbing through the wall. He approached the window with the broken latch and pulled it with a little force. The window made a small creaking noise but unwillingly gave away.

What? Won't the robbers find this easy to break into the orphanage?

But even if they did, the only thing they'd find would be snotty brats, and little rats!

He entered the orphanage and tip-toed towards his bed, which was just beside Param's bed. It was night, and without any lights he couldn't see his surroundings clearly. Using his experience and familiarity, he searched his way to his bed.

Since he'd arrived, he didn't hear his friend, so he silently moved the curtain which divided the space between his and Param's bed.

He relaxed when he spotted Param's figure sleeping silently on his bed, and decided to ask about his side of the story later.

Suddenly he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Just as he wondered if Mrs. Purple had come to check to them, the curtain near his bed shifted away and two figures entered.

"You have come!" a melodious voice said in a low voice. Dhruva smiled as he recognized his visitors.

He turned his head to light up his table lamp and he said.

"Oh! What brings the local belle of the Stone Bull Community to my –"

He was still speaking but suddenly stopped when he saw his visitors clearly under the light of the table lamp.

The dim light of the table lamp exposed the expression of the twins. Siddhi was staring at Dhruva with a stern expression, and if looks could kill, he would have already been cut into a thousand pieces. In her hand was a thick and long stick which she tapped on her other hand and showed her eagerness to beat someone up.

Beside her was Riddhi, and currently even this lass had thrown away her meeker shell as she stared at Dhruva with her red eyes. Her weapon was a wooden spatula, and perhaps it was her natural talent that made her more threatening when she held the spatula.

Dhruva's words became stuck in his throat when he saw their 'friendly appearance'. He gave them a stiff smile and forced himself to ask.

"Err… Any problem?"

"Humph! Why don't you see for yourself?" Siddhi said in a cold voice. Her hand slowly moved the curtain which formed the partition between his and Param's bed, and his friend's figure could now be seen clearly under the dim light.

Param upper body was now bare, and his right shoulder was bandaged. The wound had been treated, yet it was bright red due to the blood flowing from his small movements.

Dhruva gasped when he saw this. What the hell happened to him? Was he following a person, or one of those beasts living in the radioactive holes?

Suddenly he felt a little sad and unjust.

I also went through a life and death encounter. Why isn't any beauty angry for me?

His gaze turned towards his best friend and he snorted in his mind.

"So, what reason do you want to give now?" Siddhi asked with a menacing face as she went near the young trainee police officer.

"Wait! I can explain! I can Aiyo~~"

A few minutes later, the twin beauties huffed as they took deep breaths and stared at the person before him with an unwilling face.

On the bed, Dhruva was rubbing oil over the red patches on his hands and legs with a helpless face.

Suddenly the three heart the voice of a stifling laughter. The person seemed to be trying hard to control himself.

At last, the person failed and Param burst out in laughter. His voice echoed through the night, and he suddenly howled.

"Aiyo~~"

His intense laughter stimulated his wound, which made his shoulder burst out in pain. But he couldn't forget the scene that happened before him, and he burst into laughter once more. Thus, Param performed a play in the night, where he first laughed madly, then wailed in pain, only to laugh like a madman once again.

"Ah! You weren't sleeping?" Siddhi asked. She didn't know that even his small movements sent out pulses of pain, so Param had trouble sleeping.

While the beauty frowned in worry, his best friend Dhruva stared at him with a black face.

Under the pressing of the two, the two men told their recent experiences one by one.

Dhruva first told his experience, about how he illegally entered his mentor's house, how he searched through the damn place but still didn't find the gunpowder, and how he almost sh*t himself when his mentor entered the house.

When he told them how he hanged on the walls of the sixth floor apartment's balcony, the three were shocked.

Dhruva looked at their stunned faces and was smug. At least he could now brag about himself, his hard work was not wasted!

Param stared at his best friend who was a year older than him. He still couldn't believe what Dhruva had told him.

After all, how could this duck faced person be this courageous?

Dhruva's turn ended, and Param now began his tale. Of course, he didn't began to add some spice to the story, and in the end his story escalated to the level where the listeners felt that Param was fighting against the US Marines.

His conversation skills were excellent when it came to telling tales, and spit flew from his mouth as he talked about his exciting and almost heaven-defying and earth-shattering story.

Finally his mouth became dry, and he was forced to stop. The twins who now had pale faces quickly made use of this break to escape.

They really underestimated the power of a bragger!

After hearing his best friend, Dhruva felt that his brain was clogged; as if it was put in a wine barrel and let it rot for a few years.

Param coughed, and he passed his friend a bottle of water.

At this moment Param who had now wet his throat passed him the piece of paper which he'd gotten from the person who'd thrown the knife at his shoulder.

"See this!"

It was dawn, and sunlight entered their room through the window.

Dhruva took the piece of paper, and read it under the first rays of sunlight.
