Jake didn't have eyes in the back of his head yet, but equipping a micro camera wasn't complicated. All he had to do was give a smartphone to scan to an Oracle Device and it would replicate its functions with its liquid alloy.
If the local network conditions allowed it, it could easily make a phone call or connect to the Internet. Taking a picture or a video was only a bonus.
At the moment, his Oracle Device had perfectly recorded the micro-expression change on Ruby's face. He studied the cruel smirk on her face and the silvery glimmer burning in her pupils and shook his head with slight disappointment.
'It seems I can't trust her. The Slave Contract works, but this Digestor half is a genuine sword of damocles.'

Arkinslize I'm answering a question I've seen several times in the comments or Discord. Is Ruby the FL? Yes, without a doubt, and so is Xi if you consider their relevance in the plot. Is she the one Jake will end up with? Not necessarily. The important word is Soulmate and that can mean many things.
Some things were obviously not planned when I started writing this story, but many characters have been introduced since then. Even though I can't yet say clearly if this story will be a monogamous romance or a small harem, I have always written with my characters in mind. If certain things are going to happen, they will happen whether they like it or not.
The only thing that's certain is that I can't please everyone. If I were to follow the readers' opinion, Ruby would have been killed by Jake as early as chap 666.
