Capítulo 114: Sometimes, death is a new beginning

This marriage can't happen.

'Is this your final decision?' The Devil whispers in my mind.

Yes.

Eli drags me to our room. He closes the door and then, stands against the door while keeping his calm eyes on me.

There's a silence between us that I don't have any courage to break. I look down at my hands. I need to know what happened back then. For my sake. For Eli's sake. I can't marry this ghoul before I find out. 

"I was serious when I said that I would force you to marry me if you say no."

I curl my fingers. What should I reply to him? I can only put my trust in Devil. 

"Why are you hesitating suddenly?" Eli sits down on his knees in front of me. "Are you afraid for me?"

"No." I meet his gaze. "It looks like you are someone powerful."

"Yes, I am." Eli kisses the back of my hand. "I believe that I am powerful enough to protect you. You can rely on me. Don't be afraid of anyone. Nobody can separate us."
