Capítulo 46: Chapter 46: There was ringing music of hellos
When we walked in Justin walked directly to a group of guys and girls sitting around a huge table filled with drinks and shot glasses. When we got closer they all looked up and one of the guys whistled.
"Hot Damn, Justin boy! I thought you were making her up" Justin slapped him on the head and said, "Shut it, James". I could hear the smirk in his voice and I smiled at everyone. Justin quickly ordered us a drink while we sat down.
"Alright, everyone, this is Amelia." He introduced. There was ringing music of hellos. Most of them were looking at me with curiosity but they were all nice looking. "Ok, babe this is Kent and his girlfriend Amy, James and his girlfriend Hannah, Kelsie, Kelly, Nigel, Tommy, and Jay" I looked around at them as Justin pointed them out. When I looked at the last guy I got Goosebumps. Jay.
"Jay?" I asked incredulously "Holy Cow! Amelia! How are you darling?" he asked and got up and hugged me. I was still in a state of shock. It had been maybe a year since I had seen him. He was the guy who Olivia had said was the father of the triplets when she was covering for John.
"How do you two know each other?" Justin asked curiously "We meet awhile ago. didn't you know that John was her old fling?" "John?" repeated Justin I looked at him, "You know John?" At the same time, he asked: "how do you know John?" Jay looked at us both like we were stupid.
"John as in the father of her kids John, ring any bells?" I looked away to processing this information. Justin knew John. How could that be? Maybe it wasn't even the same John… Just as Justin went to open his mouth a new arrival came. "Hey, guys sorry I am… Amelia? What the hell are you doing here?" I looked and thought, speak of the devil. There stood John. Shit.
Next, to me, Justin went rigid and stood up. "Justin, sit down," I said quietly. Everyone at the table and a few other tables were watching now. I sent a glare at Jay who was looking at me apologetically. "You are the f**king Jerk who left her" I heard Justin say harshly "Justin?
How do you know Amelia?" "I am dating her you Jerk" "Justin, sit down, or I am leaving," I said to him. Justin looked at John, who had comprehension dawning on his face. "Justin," I said sternly, "I mean it" Justin took one look at me, then back at John. His hands had fisted at his side.
What happened next happened so fast that I didn't realize what was happening until it had already happened. Justin threw a punch, hitting John squarely in the jaw. I looked over at Justin in shock. He just hit John. I was too busy still trying to process what had just happened when John retaliated. His fist landed square on Justin's stomach. Then all hell broke loose.
I watched as Justin and John traded blows. There was blood on both of them. Some of their friends tried to break them up, while strangers cheered them on. I watched in a state of horror. Justin‟s nose was gushing blood while John‟s eye was already swollen.
"Guys stop it, for Goodness sake!" I screamed, but it did not affect. They kept hammering each other. I knew them both well, and I knew that neither was going to stop until the other was unconscious or dead. I saw the bar manager coming over and I heard the sound of police sirens in the distance heading this way. I went to grab the back of Justin‟s shirt, only for him to step back.
I tripped over the discarded chair and fell backward. I felt a searing pain in my back and neck and I heard more yelling. One of Justin and John‟s friends, I think it was Hannah ran over and helped me to a sitting position.
"Are you ok?" she asked, "Ah, yeah, I think so." I looked over at the boys who were still absorbed in smashing each other‟s heads in, "I wish they would stop" I said sadly.
