Capítulo 38: Creating a scene
As Ador entered the bar, she saw many tables and chairs. It was dim inside.Some people were standing on chairs and clapping. Some were thomping beer mugs. Ladies were dancing. Women to be precise. Very few clothes on..... a bralette and hot pants, dancing to the beat of the drums. Belly dancing, twirking, Ador felt like she was standing in a living hell. Then suddenly as the cheers grew louder, down went the hot pants and in their lacy underwear and thongs the women danced wildly. Dev came and clasped Ador by her waist and said, " Darling... this is life..... this is how a woman keeps her man happy and contented. See ,look at their clothes, it makes our pants go tighter and manhood harder..... Come share a drink with me.. The night is young." Ador said " It looks like hell to me. Here women are not valued. Let's go out. Let's go to the beach, to those shacks where the wafty scent of food made my stomach growl. Let's go for some we time, let's have seafood. Am hungry, Dev."
Dev laughed like a maniac. It surely was the effect of alcohol. He said " I love this place. It makes me go horny. I am relishing my eyes on these beauties. Have some chicken wings, in that corner over there and let me enjoy, will u? You old hags..... no life ....no colour. You don't know how to satisfy my thirst, my lust,nor do you give me good company. Shoo... shooo away to that corner. "
Ador was shocked. She looked up at him. Dev's eyes were sparkling like diamonds. Ador understood that alcohol had taken over him. She had become used to his insults from day 2 of marriage, but she would not ruin her honeymoon, come what may.
She went to a corner and ordered, pizza, chicken wings and lobster in red sauce. Dev was back in the crowd of berserk men, screaming and shouting while having beer. He mixed himself with the crowd. This surely was a very good trait of him. When in Rome do as the Romans' do....
Ador, who was hungry was having food like there was no tomorrow.
Dev was screaming and shouting as the tempo of the music beats increased. At midnight, suddenly there was a huge bang. Ador looked, all women were topless, dancing on poles, some were accompanying men into adjoining rooms beside the bar. Ador searched for Dev. He had passed out and was in the front row of the dancing table. She called a local guy, who looked like a helpful one. Asked for a room key, said they would pay in the morning and accompanied Dev to a room and closed the door. What a scene..... what a honeymoon. She was cursing herself for marrying Dev.
