Capítulo 3: Chapter: 2
Good moments does not last for long. Suddenly sounds of people running and shouting rang out. They heard a person shouting in a loud voice.
"The palace has caught on fire".
What is going on?
Immediately afterwards,a horrible shriek of slashes intensified the atmosphere.
Palace was under attack?!
At this time, outside the door, several palace maids voices repeatedly pleaded
"Spare this life, spare this life"
However, they are immediately followed by horrible shrieks, with blood spraying all at once on the door and windows. Suddenly a man in black clothes jumped before emperor.
"What is happening?"
"Your majesty, the palace is surrounded by the Great General Jin's army and they are killing everyone. Soon they are going to reach here. We need to get you to to safety".
The emperor became angry after hearing this.
"What??!!!. How could he do this? I trusted him as a friend but he betrayed me. Good very good Jin Mo Han".
The man was emperor's personal shadow guard: Yuan Chun Wang. The emperor went to the bed where empress was still laying on bed due to weakness. Suddenly they heard rushing steps of rebel army.
"Yuan chun wang take my daughter outside the palace, protect her well and make her strong so that one day she can get what belongs to her"
"Your majesty, I can not leave you behind. You should also come with me".
"There is not enough time go quickly"
"But Your Majesty..."
Emperor and empress both kiss princess and then gave her to Yuan chun wang. Soon he disappeared with princess. The emperor took his sword and stood before door. At the same time Great General Jin's right hand man Ming Li Yu entered the room and surrounded the emperor. After fighting with soldiers,soon emperor lost and was held captive.
"You bast*** how dare you!!!
"tsk tsk your majesty seize your anger.
"You people are despicable. I trusted you and gave you military power to protect the border against enemy but You are using it against me to rebel". the emperor spat gritting his teeth.
"You Majesty you can only blame yourself. You are in my master's way only after your death he can sit on your throne".
"You You..." Emperor spit blood from anger.
Empress forced herself to stand up even though she was weak and lost a lot of blood during delivery. She walked in the direction where her husband had been held captive, limping.
A soldier had seen her and now was dragging her harshly towards the emperor. Suddenly Ming Li Yu brought down his blade on emperor's neck slitting him in front of empress. She could not believe what she saw and struggled to break free against the hold of
soldier.
"No no Your Majesty"
Ming Li Yu gestured the soldier to let he go. Empress forced her way to the dying emperor and tried to pressed at the gushing wound. Hoping it would stop bleeding, but it did not.
"M-my b-beloved empress d-don't w-worry"
"Your majesty do not talk"
In the middle of her cries the empress was stabbed, the sword went through her body. Her cries has ceased, as she looked down. She fell forward, landing just in front of emperor.
Empress looked at emperor's eyes one last time before death claimed her. They both died looking at eachother's eyes.
Flames enveloped the palace, feeding themselves on the majestic building. Great General Jin watched with sharp eyes as the destruction progressed, deeply enjoying the hopeless cries for help and wails of despair coming from the blaze.
General Jin had spent years preparing for this moment, waiting in the shadows for the perfect opportunity to strike and now nothing could be more perfect.
He closed his eyes to savour the moment, then inhaled deeply letting the delicious scent of fire, death and fear burn his lungs. Footsteps approached from behind, and he reopened his eyes once again.
"It is done"
"And the Imperial family?"
"Dead"
A triumphant smirk appeared on the face of General Jin.
Finally
Finally he would be able to sit on the throne.
In the tang dynasty on wei qi twenty first year.
Emperor Wei Qi died.
On the 5th day following Wei Qi emperor's death, the Imperial palace became alive once again. Red lanterns and red silk curtains were hanged. The palace was renovated and heavy and sorrowful atmosphere was quickly replaced.
Everyone knew General jin betrayed his own emperor but no one could do anything because people who were loyal to emperor were already killed. In the end General jin ascended the throne as new emperor.
