50% Harry Potter: The Qauter Blood Princess / Chapter 7: A Trip to the Hospital Wing

Capítulo 7: A Trip to the Hospital Wing

"Why would we even want to compete? It seems like a waste of time. Everyone knows Hogwarts is the best school wizarding school and Slytherins are the cream of the crop. Period." Crabe pointed out with a grunt of agreement from Goyle. Natilee sighed wondering how he could say those things with a straight face when his grades were barely acceptable by the lowest of passing standards.

"Because, as Slytherins we make pure blood connections and thrive off the partnerships we make. What better way to connect with other pure bloods than school meets with skill involved? Friendly competition to help form bonds." Natilee pointed out and the other Slytherins seemed to consider her point. Even Malfoy couldn't help but grin at her. It was intelligent and his father mentioned making pacts and agreements with other pure families all the time. Especially since the states had such a firm stance against half bloods there were laws against mingling with muggles. Little did he know that wasn't the reason for those laws. It did sound good to him.

"Now class it's time to gather up. I will have no silly slacking in my class. I want a clean show of good sportsmanship and an entertaining game from all of you. Everyone line up choose your first team. You can swap 2 players every point till the snitch is caught or we have 500 points. The highest team wins 100 points for their house as a team." Madam Hooch explained as she mounted her own broom.

Malfoy pointed at people and sent them up before walking to Natilee. "You said you wanted keeper? Show me what you got." He said and another slytherin frowned.

"You sure about this Draco? The girls can cheer." He pointed out and Draco nodded his eyes on Natilee.

"If she can't back up her claim, we will swap her first chance we get. No harm in trying her out." Draco pointed out with a lazy shrug. Wallace had to restrain a laugh as he was tossed the qauffel. Natilee nodded flashing Draco a grin before taking her place in front of the goals. Once the two teams were fielded she smiled. Watching them chase the qauffel the adrenalin began to pump in her veins.

A Gryffindor she didn't recognize rushed toward her hurling the reddish brown ball at the lowest hoop. Natilee spun upside down on her broom and caught it, her cloak held in place by a charm she placed on it earlier. She smiled at the man who through it and tossed the ball to a Slytherin near her, then the race started back down the field. A moment of concentration and core strength later and Natilee was straight on her broom again.

Goyle had the qauffel hurling it toward Seamus who managed to block it with his broom slapping it away. The game was still zero to zero and Gryffindor had the ball. Hermione so it seemed. Natilee smirked this was going to be fun, she centered between the three hoops and waited. Hermione dodged the two Slytherins trying to sandwich her by dipping down and looping under them flying toward the top hoop… but her eyes weren't on it.

"Top hoop Natilee.. top freaking hoop." Draco yelled from below as she stayed perfectly center or perhaps dipping down a little if anything. It was hard to tell from a distance. Then she threw the ball and it wasn't aimed for the top hoop at all. Nattile bashed it away from the bottom loop, looking like she's riding a pogo stick, both feet suddenly on the broom, and the broom straight up and down under her. Wallace rebounded the qauffel giving her a two finger salute before flying down the way. He didn't waste the chance to show off.

Dipping down, twisting around people and trick riding his way down to the other end, distracting the keeper and other players. A bluddger came dangerously close to his head, and the Slytherin beater bashed it toward the goal. Just as the keeper dogged it Wallace through the ball through the top hoop, securing points for Slytherin. Just like that it was time to swap out people. Draco flew into the air and swapped with a quiet Slytherin boy who was playing chase and Gryffindor put Dean as their keeper. Wallace flew toward Natilee and held position.

"How are you holding up cutie?" He teased and she laughed honestly thrilled.

"Loving every second!" She shouted back loving the wind in her hair. The thrill of the hunt very similar to how the game made her feel. He smiled and jetted off to the center where Hooch was tossing the ball again. There was a mass dive for it and Pavarti snatched the ball out of the air with a bright grin.

She swooped down and zigzagged down the field trying to catch Natilee off guard. However she was sorely disappointed as she miscalculated her trajectory. The ball flew over the top of the back hoop and was caught by the outlying Slytherin.

Natilee guarded the goal posts fiercely, as Slytherin slowly racked up more and more points down field. Then Natilee never saw it coming. Pain shot through her back as she was slammed forward unable to hold onto her broom from the sheer force and shock she found herself in a free fall. The bluddger left a searing pain, nearly numbness as it collided with her and flew past.

The ground was coming up fast, without her broom she had to rely on her other teammates or Madam Hooch but three brooms were in motion the second they saw it coming. Natilee closed her eyes for impact when a hand shot out around her waist and jerked her onto a broom. The free fall stopped bit the pain in her back intensified.

"Get out of the way, Get out of the way." Madam Hooch demanded as she made her way through the students who gathered around as he landed with her. "Good Catch Harry. 50 points to Gryffindor for quick broomwork."

Harry nodded, honestly a little awkwardly as he passed the injured Slytherin off to Madam Hooch. Natilee looked at him in shock and his heart skipped a beat. For a moment… he recognized her eyes. Then Ron smacked him on the back.

"Good thinking, Harry. Rescuing Snape's daughter may just get us out of the bloody cauldron for a bit." He cheered as Madam Hooch demanded they all stay on the ground as she started to take Natilee away. She was struggling to walk. Wallace landed his broom and ran after them. He slid Natilee's arm around his neck, and Astoria went to grab her other side.

"Your a bit weak for that, Miss Greengrass. Let me." Draco replied feeling a twinge of guilt. He had been the one holding the beater's bat when she got hit. Wallace shot him a look of surprise but they were close in height.

"Thank you for the volunteers now let's get Moss Snape to the infirmary." The four left without anything else to say. A certain black haired student watching as Natilee was led away.

In the Hospital Wing a few hours later:

Natilee was tended to by Madam Pomfrey who was a bit fussy. Apparently the bluddger was her least favorite ball and the worst part was it cracked one of Natilee's Vertebrae. Since that could paralyze a person, Madam Pomfrey insisted she lay down for a while after it was healed. However, Natilee only agreed to stay put after Wallace promised not to slack off and to take notes during class.

She lay staring at the ceiling for several hours willing the pain of those moments to be seated from her mind. To them she was only Professor Snape's daughter. A cruel Slytherin. Her heart shuddered a bit. She knew this could happen, at least on some level but it was something she had not counted on hurting this much. Hermione was probably annoyed and might not even come to H4P. Damn. All that effort and it may have nothing to show for it.

Just as she was letting that particularly sour taste fill her mouth, she heard a soft throat clear. By the bed, Hermione stood, stuffing something under her shirt. "May I sit down?" Hermione asked a bit awkwardly and Natilee beamed with excitement.

"Yes of course." Natilee sat up a bit and the blanket tightened forcing her back down.

"No Moving." Madam Pomfrey's voice carried from somewhere in the shelves of medicines and books. Hermione chuckled and Natilee sighed.

"Sorry, I would greet your properly but Medical Witches can be really strict." Natilee smiled and Hermione nodded casting a glance back there.

"I remember when I was up here, last year, after I woke up she wouldn't let anyone visit for more than a few moments." Hermione whispered as if it was a secret. Everyone knew Madam Pomfrey was a force to be reckoned with, and no one really wanted to try.

"Sounds like Lord Grimmlock. He was our medical Wizard back at Ilvermorny. He would give us fun little gumdrops that tasted Divine but had a side effect of silencing you for hours." Natilee explained giggling which turned to a slight bought of coughing. "Guess my lungs were hit harder than I thought."

"Speaking of, if you don't mind me asking, why did you leave Ilvermorny? It seems like you miss it." Hemione asked, catching the slight sadness in Natilee's tone as she spoke of the school she longed for. Her lips lingered on the word lovingly just like most Hogwarts alumni did on Hogwarts and their house.

"I had to. I wanted to know my father better and… I'm looking for something." She explained her heart aching where that whole was gouged into her soul.

"OH? Looking for what exactly?" Hermione asked curiously and Natilee smiled softly. Natilee's eyes were a bit glazed and deep when she looked at her again. They were deep and beautiful but they drug Hermione deep into that darkness in her eyes. Pain and longing paired with the bright brilliance of intellect and confidence blended together with a touch of emptiness that Hermione could not quite place.

"I don't really know. Have you ever felt there was something you wanted, needed but what exactly it is escapes you? Like when your trying to explain a potion to someone and the word for a specific motion escapes you but you know, to some degree, that you know the word. It's on your tongue or in your wrist and you just can't seem to do it?" Natilee asked looking up at the ceiling again.

"Yes… I have felt that before." Hermione offered her an understanding smile and Natilee nodded.

"I figured you had. Intelligence and feeling you have to prove you belong in a world that isn't your parent's world can push one to the same sensations. Don't take those slurs to heart, Hermione. You are an amazing witch, and you will only succeed in fitting in, when you realize some circles aren't worth being within." Natilee pointed out rolling her head to the side to look at the Gryffindor who was a little teary. She chuckled a bit.

"I was suppose to come up here and make you feel better." Hermione protested with a sigh. Natilee chuckled.

"I will be fine. Oh… look at the time. Shouldn't you be in class?" Natilee asked and Hermione laughed.

"I am not too worried. So many classes… I deserved a short break." Hermione replied standing up and pushing the stool back against the wall. The wooden scraping sound received a sharp look from Madam Pomfrey. "Sorry."

"Hey, can you let the others know, next week on Friday. Same place. Same time." Natilee asked "I can't exactly get to the book at the moment."

"Sure. Rest well." And with that Hermione left Natilee to her thoughts.
