Alex looked at the lever and got towards it while looking at Chris.
Chris: I can't sense any trap here.
Alex nodded and pulled the lever, the bars covering the door entered in the ground and the wooden doors opened, then Alex and Chris entered in it.
At the other side, they saw 5 undeads armed with axes and hammers, they were covered in black armor, in the next moment, they heard a mischievous voice from nothing.
?: Welcome to your last adventure… EVER! Slay 5 Grim Soldiers if you agree to test your skills in my dungeon. Even though you don't have any choice, muahahahaha!
Alex: Who are you?!
The voice didn't answer…
Chris: Then let's do it!
Chris went towards a Grim Soldier and attacked it, meanwhile Alex summoned 4 Overfiend Blades of Nulgath and sent them against the other 4, the four of them tried to block the incoming blades, but their weapons broke and the blades cut them in half.
Then he watched as Chris appeared behind the last Grim Soldier and stabbed her dagger between the skull and the spine, separating them.
?: The way opens. Face your fate in Grimskull's dungeon!
Alex's face was blank before it slowly made a 180° turn and was full of despair and surprise.
Alex: Oh sweet love of god…
Chris: You know something, Demon?
Alex: First of all, I have a name, bitch. Second, I'm not going to tell you anything.
Chris clicked her tongue and followed Alex until they reached a signboard.
"Choose the Right Path"
The path was split in two, left and right, Alex was going to the right until they heard a feminine voice.
?: Help me!
Chris stopped and immediately ran to the left way, Alex noticed it and gritted his teeth while chasing her.
Alex: STOP!
Chris: No! Someone needs our help! I'm not going to leave her alone!
Chris went too deep in the left way and saw only darkness, but the feminine voices stopped. In that moment, her enemy detector pinged like crazy and saw the silhouette of an angler-like black giant beast.
It opened its jaws and jumped at Chris.
Chris: AHHHHHHH!!
A Combat Soulreaper of Nulgath stabbed the ground between the angler monster and Chris. And then Alex picked it up and glared at the beast.
Alex: Hello there, beast…
Princess Angler: RAAAAAWRR!!
Chris: W-What is that?!
Alex didn't answer and dashed at the Princess Angler, before cutting the fake princess hanged on the antenna and stab the beast before it could dodge.
The beast roared again before it vanished in ashes, giving Alex 3 Skill Points, reaching 19. Alex went towards Chris and held her arm, helping her stand up.
Alex: Let's go.
Chris: A-Ah! Y-Yes…
When Alex was turned around, Chris slightly blushed before she glared at Alex, it was his fault for not saying anything…
Alex gained 3 points by killing the Princess Angler, and this time both of them took the right path. Some time later, they found 6 more skeletons wearing a full steel armor.
Grimskull: IF you believe you're up to my challenge, slay 6 of my Grim Fighters.
Alex and Chris immediately went to attack the skeletons, they gave Alex some scratches, but thanks to the passive "Unsurmountable" he was able to regenerate. Soon, they killed all 6 of these skeletons.
Grimskull: So... You think you've got what it takes? Mehehehee!
They kept walking without questioning anything. And they finally reached a palace made of stones and bones. The entrance was that of a incredibly big skull with an open mouth, inside the mouth there was a door covered with steel bars and a pair of giant skeletal hands connected to levers.
It was guarded from 10 skeletal fire mages.
?: If you can't stand the heat, get out of the dungeon… IF you can slay 10 of my Fire Mages!
When he finished to talk, the skeletal mages charged a fireball at both of them and shot, Chris panicked and jumped away, while Alex summoned an Overfiend Blade of Nulgath and used it as a shield.
The impact with the fireballs forced him to back away, but while he was busy protecting himself, he sent 3 Oblivion Blades of Nulgath to the mages. Meanwhile Chris continued to dodge some fireballs on her way and used a skill at one of them who was creating another fireball.
Chris: [Skill Bind]!
Suddenly, the fireball exploded on the mage's body, killing it, and then Chris dashed against another one, stabbing the dagger on its skull, the next moment, the dead mage's body was destroyed from an Oblivion Blade of Nulgath, Chris looked around and saw that the others were already dead.
Grimskull: Need to cool off? I hear it gets pretty cold when you're DEAD! Ahahaha!
Then Alex made the weapons disappear and said to Chris.
Alex: Go to the lever and pull it.
Chris nodded and went without any question towards one lever, meanwhile Alex went to the other. The pulled the levers together and the giant skeletal hands were lifted up, making way to the entrance which was opened.
They entered in the castle, and found themselves in a room made of stones of different stones, it was illuminated by candles, and in that moment the Night Vision potions stopped working.
At the left and right there were two bookcases, an in front of them there was another closed gate connected with a red button, and on the corner there was a board.
"Scorror Board"
"4'493'556"
"Heroes sent to their doom"
Chris trembled and looked at it with shock.
Chris: 4 million and half hero candidates… Dead…? We sent so many of them to their death?
Alex: No, they aren't hero candidates, they are really heroes…
Chris: And how do you know…?!
Alex: Eris, welcome to Adventure Quest World, precisely, the worst Dungeon ever existed in the game. This isn't our world.
Chris: Adventure Quest World?
Alex: Let's continue on, maybe we can find a method to leave. And for not a single reason except for death, you will go to the right bookcase, I'm not going to release Binky.
Chris: Binky?
Alex: Don't ask, that beast is almost unkillable unless you have a good party of strong classes and people.
Chris: What can it do?
Alex: Hmm…
Bloodrage, increases his attack of 4 folds
Curse of Blades, stuns the target for 10-15 seconds
Petrify, it lasts for 5-12 seconds
Shadow Grasp, binds the target for 10 seconds
Temporal Prison, paralyze the target for 21 seconds
Death Wave, it can't be avoided and hit every person in one's party.
Lesser Death Wave, slightly weaker and can be avoided
Kathool's Gaze, increases mana costs for our skills
Mind Twist, creates a shield that negates damage and regenerates health until it's broken.
Noxious Decay, it slightly rots our body and negates healing abilities.
Pestilence, it poisons us and the damage dealt from it increases with time.
Power Drained, lowers our damage
Power Shift, increases Binky's damage
Prophetic Vision, negates incoming damage and reflects it back to us
Shrapnel Rounds, increases his damage in our vital points
Skill Locked, it locks the last skill used for a few minutes.
Chris: ...A...And how do you know them all…?
Alex: Girl, you don't have idea about how many times I tried to kill it and change parties because of a quest, not only that, but that shit packs a strong punch. Now let's go.
Chris: ...Yes sir….
Alex went to the red button and pressed it, opening the gate, and both of them went inside. At the other side, they saw an open door and at the center of the room there was a bag of golden coins.
Chris: I see a trap between the coins and us.
Alex nodded and both of them went around the trap and picked up the bag of gold, before reaching for the door and entering in the next room.
[Meanwhile]
There was a rotting corpse standing on a skeletal throne, watching everything from a black mirror that emitted green miasma. The corpse seemed skeletrical, but it had some white hair and pieces of skin, it was wearing a hood and shoulder pauldrons made of ancient bones, and a long cloth from his hips and below.
Grimskull: Ooo… Ooooo… Ooooooh! When sizing you up I didn't think you two would make it this far. But you're full of surprises. Now, how are you going to get through that teeeeeny tiny door? Hahahahahahaha!
