Capítulo 56: The Tale of the Three Brothers

The days passed in Hogwarts peacefully, Stefan heal every night with the company of Mary who is always with him, it's been 5 days since Stefan started to heal, Mary was exempt of having to go to the Quidditch practices, well she did go to her first and only Quidditch practice just to satisfy Daphne and Tracey who wanted to see her flying with her Nimbus 2000, Stefan joined them to that practice and as he looked at Mary flying around with a smile on her face, he remembered about a lot of theories he read in his past life, like one that said Dumbledore charmed the snitch so Potter could win the Quidditch game, helping him build his confidence in himself.

Stefan snorted as he remembered that and started to heal while he was watching Mary practicing, he had been having a bad feeling these days, so now he's dedicating all of his time to accelerate his recovery.

Meanwhile, in the Limbo, there is a long table where a lot of men and women who are sitting around it.

"Well, Tessa and Dave tell me, how are the tasks going?" said the old man that is sitting at the head table.

"The gathering is going to happen tomorrow, the Angel Faction has been a bit resilient of having to gather with the Demons but I manage to convince them" said Tessa with a respectful look while looking at the old man.

"The Demons were surprisingly too cooperative with the gathering, one of the princes of hell is going to assist to the gathering" said Dave with a smile on his face as he looked at Tessa with a mocking smile.

"Which Prince?" said the old man while looking at Dave with an interest look.

"Azazel is the one who is going to assist" said Dave with a calm smile, the old man nodded at him as an approval.

The old man turned his head to look at Tessa and said "The Angels, who are they going to send?"

"As I said the Angels are not happy with this gathering... I barely convinced them that this gathering was necessary to all the factions... They didn't tell me who are they going to send..." said Tessa with a hesitating voice as he looked nervously at the old man, who furrowed his brows.

"Hmmph, always believing they are the most important of the three factions..., well I suppose it's a good result even though we don't know who are they going to send..." said the old man with a soft voice.

"Now, who are we going to send to represent us?" said the old man while looking at all of the reapers who were at the table.

"I would like to go... I'm one of the first to notice the deaths of our brothers, I've been investigating a lot about it..." said Tessa as she looked at the Old Man.

The old man looked at her for a moment and said "Ok, you and Dave who has been in touch with the Demons are going in our representation and as Azazel is going take one Executioner with you for protection, I want answers... I want to know who is the bastard who killed our brothers..." said the Old Man as he stamped the floor with his cane as he vanished from there.

"Sigh, Dave you have to keep in check the Demons..." said Tessa as she turned her head to look at Dave who was smiling at her.

"Of course, dear sister, I will see you tomorrow" said Dave as he vanished too.

One by one all of the reapers started to vanish from there.

---------------

That same day at night.

Stefan was going to lay on the bed, but his ring shake a little. "What could it be..." thought Stefan as he turned the ring into a silver tablet, a message popped out that said "Young Master, I have the Marvolo Gaunt Ring"

Stefan's eyes gleamed as he read the message and replied back "I'm coming"

"Change of plans Mary, we're going to the Mansion" said Stefan as he took her hand and apparated away from there.

Both of them apparated inside of the training room, where they found Grindelwald and Emma waiting for them, "Welcome Young Master" said both of them as they bowed to him.

Stefan waved his hand to indicate to stop it, and said "Where is the ring?" while looking at Grindelwald.

A black vortex appeared in front of Stefan and a golden box appeared in mid-air.

Stefan grabbed the golden box, and opened it, revealing the Marvolo Gaunt ring, the heirloom of the House of Gant, descendants of Salazar Slytherin and Cadmus Peverell.

A gold ring inset with a black stone that is actually the resurrection stone, but neither Marvolo Gaunt or Tom Riddle the snake were aware of its existence, engraved with what Marvolo Gaunt called the Peverell coat of arms, that the dumbass didn't know is actually is the symbol of the Deathly Hallows.

"Great Job, Grindelwald" said Stefan as he took the ring from the golden box and closed his eyes to feel the energy inside of the ring, it was covered in Death Aura, it was so heavy.

"Well to be able to call the deads back, it certainly going to be covered with Death's Aura" thought Stefan.

Another black vortex appeared in front of Stefan, another box appeared in front of Stefan, he opened it and saw the fragments of the Holy Grail, Excalibur, and a piece of mask laying inside, and beside those was a wand, the Elder Wand.

Stefan snapped his fingers and a table appeared in front of him, and a chair appeared behind him, Mary sat down first and then Stefan sat down while leaning his head between her breasts, he then took out the Elder Wand from the box, and started to feel the Elder Wand, it gave him the same aura as the Ring, it was covered In Death's aura, but this was not so heavily as the ring.

Stefan took the Elder Wand and the Ring, but they didn't react at all, Stefan furrowed his brows and thought "The one who gathers the three Deathly Hallows is going to be the Master of Death, how much truth is in that statement?... I need that clock of invisibility..."

Stefan noticed Mary and Grindelwald were watching him with interest in their eyes and imagined Mary was looking at him too, and said with a calm voice "Take a seat, Emma, Grindelwald"

They both nodded at him, Grindelwald took the seat at his right, and Emma took the seat at his left.

Stefan nodded and said with a calm voice while looking at Grindelwald "Grindelwald, care to explain to the ladies what these two items are..."

"Yes, Young Master..." said Grindelwald as he turned his head to look at Mary and Emma who were looking at him with a curious face.

"Emma, have you heard of the Deathly Hallows?" said Grindelwald as he looked at Emma, who started to think about it, "The name rings me a bell... but I can't remember..." said Emma while furrowing her brows.

"Have you heard of "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" I'm sure you have, almost all of the wizard kids have read that book..." said Grindelwald, as he was talking the voice of Mary, was heard by everyone "I have read the tales of Beedle the Bard" said Mary with a smile on her face as she started to give a massage to Stefan, who closed his eyes.

"Ok... Mary what do you know of that book?" said Grindelwald while looking at Mary with a surprised look as he knows she was a muggle and its been a short time since she integrated to the magical world.

"The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a collection of stories written for young wizards and witches by Beedle the Bard, they were popular bedtime stories for centuries, with the result being that The Wizard and the Hopping Pot and The Fountain of Fair Fortune were as familiar to many of the students at Hogwarts, as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are to various Muggle children" said Mary while saying all the information she remembered about the book.

"Yes, you're right, do you remember "The Tale of the Three Brothers"" said Grindelwald as he looked at Mary with curiosity in his eyes.

"No, I haven't read that story, yet" said Mary with a curious face.

"What about you Emma, "The Tale of the Three Brothers" does it sounds familiar to you?" said Grindelwald as he turned his head to look at Emma, who had a troubled look in her eyes and her face started to turn red as she said "I don't really like to read..."

Mary took a hand to her mouth as she started giggling as she heard that, and after a moment she kept giving a massage to Stefan who hadn't say a word.

"Ok, pay attention..." said Grindelwald as he cleared his throat and then started to tell the tale

--------

Three brothers, traveling along a lonely, winding road at twilight reached a deep treacherous river where anyone who attempted to swim or wade would drown. Learned in the magical arts, the brothers conjured a bridge with their wands and proceed to cross.

Halfway through the bridge, a hooded figure stood before them. The figure was the enraged spirit of Death, cheated of his due. Death cunningly pretended to congratulate them and proceeds to award them with gifts of their own choosing.

The eldest brother, a combative man, asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence. Death granted his wish by fashioning the Elder Wand from a branch of a nearby elder tree standing on the banks of the river. The second brother, an arrogant man, chose to further humiliate death and asked for the power to recall the deceased from the grave. Death granted his wish by crafting the Resurrection Stone from a stone picked from the riverbank. The third and youngest brother, who was the most humble and wise, did not trust Death and asked for something to enable him to go forth without Death being able to follow. A reluctant Death, most unwillingly, handed over his own Invisibility cloak.

The three brothers took their prizes and soon went on their separate ways.

The eldest brother traveled to a village where a wizard whom he had quarreled lived. He sought out a duel and fought the wizard using the wand, instantly killing the latter.

Leaving his enemy dead upon the floor, the eldest brother walked to an inn not far from the dueling site and spent the night there. Taken by his conscience and lust of the Elder Wand's power, the eldest brother boasted of this wand gifted by Death and his own invincibility.

That very night, Death transfigured to a murderous wizard. The unknown murderous wizard crept to the inn as the eldest brother slept, drunk from wine. The wizard slit the oldest brother's throat for good measure and stole the wand. That was when Death took the first brother.

The second brother returned to his home where he lived alone. Turning the stone thrice in his hand the figure of the girl he had once hoped to marry, before her untimely death, appeared at once before him, much to his delight. Yet she was sad and cold, separated from him as by a veil. Though she had returned to the mortal world, she did not truly belong there and suffered. Finally, the second brother, driven mad with hopeless longing, committed suicide by hanging from his house' balcony so as truly to join her. That was when Death took the second brother for his own.

Death searched for the youngest brother as years passed but never succeeded. It was only when the third brother reached a great age, he took off the Cloak of Invisibility and gave it to his son. Greeting Death as an old friend, they departed this life as equals.

-------

Everyone turned quiet as the story ended, Mary and Emma had a lost look in their eyes, while Grindelwald was eyeing the Elder Wand and The Marvolo Gaunt Ring, everyone woke up as they heard the voice of Stefan saying

"The three objects mentioned during the tale are believed by some to be the Deathly Hallows, the most powerful magical objects of their kind in existence, at least for the wizards. The Elder Wand is the unbeatable wand of the oldest brother, the Resurrection Stone is the stone given to the second brother that can bring back the dead, and the Cloak of Invisibility is the cloak given to the third brother that could hide the wearer even from Death.

It is believed that whoever succeeds in uniting all three of the Hallows would become the Master of Death."

"Well, ladies, I present to you the Elder Wand, and the Stone of Resurrection" said Stefan as he pointed with his finger at the Elder Wand and the Ring, they both started to float.

"Where is the Cloak of Invisibility?" said Mary with a soft voice as she looked at the Elder Wand and the Ring that were floating in front of Stefan.

"Oh, that last piece is in the hands of Dumbledore, for the moment..."
