Capítulo 47: Moneyman

Unedited

————

The next few days were somewhat uneventful, apart from the fact that I made huge strides in Fūinjutsu. At this point, I was easily able to write an enclosing scroll and have it work on the first try.

As for the common sealing methods, I also became well versed in them, even though they were completely useless to me.

Now that I'm able to make some seals, the first step of my plan can finally be achieved. My sealing methods are undoubtedly incredible, and an enclosing scroll written by me should probably be a priceless treasure.

Its time to start my own financial power. If I can get rich and start having power over many things, the road to becoming Kazekage will be less rocky.

With this in mind, I prepared a total of fifty scrolls. They were purposefully not as efficient as I could make them, and were about four times as good as the best ones you could find on the market.

Placing them all inside the scroll I had made in my dad's office, I made my way over there once more. As usual, he was drowning in paperwork.

"Gaara! Good to see you... Wait... Don't tell me that you've already finished comprehending my scrolls on Fūinjutsu... I spent years on those."

"Well, yes, I have finished comprehending them. But that's not the purpose of my visit. I have a business proposal for you, father."

Hearing my words, Rasa looked confused but listened attentively as I reached for my pouch and took out the scroll where my 'products' were sealed.

"I've decided to tell you where the sealing methods come from. They're from mother."

Hearing my words, Rasa's face showed immediate incredulity. He knew Karura well, and there was no way she possessed these sealing methods.

"And how did she give them to you? She's not here anymore, is she?"

"Mother left chakra inside of me, that connected with my mind after I was put unconscious. She spoke about a treasure she found, and that she never dared to speak about."

Rasa's face went from excited to depressed. Did his wife not trust him enough to show HIM the secret?

"Then, she proceeded to show me these sealing methods that she never understood herself. She said that she believed in me."

"My plans are the following: We will sell these seals to multiple different nations, using the sand as a proxy. We shall split the profits eighty to twenty. While we are in charge of providing the scrolls, you will take care of all of the business side of the deal. Including costs."

"How about fifty-fifty?"

"The least I can do is seventy-thirty. I recommend you to take this deal, it will be very beneficial to the village considering the value of these seals. Also, the money I get will be invested into an even larger project, that will bring in even more revenue for the village. Trust me on this one, father."

To this, Rasa closed his eyes and started to think profoundly. A moment later, he nodded his head and agreed to split the earnings seventy to thirty. This might just be the key to a flourishing economy for the sand. Although his son was young, he felt like he was speaking to an equal.

...

With the deal done, I rejoiced internally. I just managed to get rid of all costs, well, apart from that thirty percent. But that's still a victory in my mind.

Smiling, I gave him the scroll and mentioned its contents. We would first sell these in an auction for the major countries to get the word out. Later, we will start to sell them directly to the representatives of both the Kages and the Daimyos. Minor countries will also get a chance if they have the resources.

"Even though it's just an enclosing seal, I'm sure that it's value is comparable to that of a national treasure. You could probably seal an entire building in this with minimal chakra usage."

Rasa was getting more and more excited as he thought of the matter. I made sure to throw a bucket of cold water on him though;

"That's just now. These are new, but once they become normalized, their price will be reduced by a lot. After all, we are aiming to sell them in bulk. Like diamonds, we will release a small amount of them in the market initially, only to increase the availability later to maximize the value."

That should be possible in the future with the help of my sand clones. I'll become a one-man seal factory.

"Diamonds as in the gemstone? What are you talking about?"

Oh, I forgot that this isn't the world I used to live in. Whatever... I just shrugged in response.

————

It had been a week since the Shira incident, and things were going well. On the training side, I had increased my Fūinjutsu level by a lot, thanks to the sand-clone technique. Of course, I didn't neglect my ninjutsu and Taijutsu training.

For now, since I have a lot of time, I should make sure that I'm at least proficient with all of these things. I don't want to become a jack of all trades, but you never know when something like Genjutsu might be useful, right?

Well, now to the good stuff.

Apparently, the auction for the scrolls went even better than I had anticipated. All of the major villages had sent representatives, and they fought each other bitterly to acquire even one of these scrolls. It was all thanks Rasa pulling the strings.

In the end, the Hidden-Cloud had been the winners of this auction. Being the country with the greatest economy, they managed to acquire three of the ten scrolls that were on sale that day. Konoha got two, and the rest of the villages got one, apart from the poorer ones, like the Hidden-Mist.

All in all, the profits of this auction had amounted to a total sum of about twenty-million Ryō[1], with every scroll easily reaching a price of two-million each. Following the seventy to thirty split, my bank account now held a cool fourteen-million. That's about one-point-three million dollars in U.S currency.

Rasa was overjoyed, although he had received the low-end of the deal, it was still the equivalent to three or four S-Rank missions, and he didn't have to pay any ninja. He felt like he had hit the jackpot; The village would benefit greatly from this.

This much money is great, but the benefits will inevitably reduce in the future. I should be careful with how I approach this business.

The first thing I need to do is change the agriculture systems so that we can become a self-sufficient village, even in the desert. To do that, I will implement a method that I had read about in my past life. Drip irrigation[2].

Since I'm not an expert, I'll just use the system's memory function to calculate the detail of how everything is going to work. Basically, this is a system that grows crops with minimal water usage, perfect for deserts, where water is scarce.

In order to achieve this, water is slowly drip-fed to the crops through a series of pipes that all connect to the main water reserve. In this manner, only the required water is used, and to top it off, it falls right on the roots of the plant.

I first need to acquire a large number of different crops, and then the hardware. For the water reservoir, I'll just use one of my high-quality enclosing seals, which should last for months before a replacement is needed.

The best thing about this is that a workforce isn't even needed. I'll just need some supervisors, is all. With that said, I headed to Yashamaru's room and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Opening the door, I saw Yashamaru sitting at his desk, reading a book. Ever since retiring from the village military he has become somewhat of a man of culture, choosing to learn more things every day.

"Yashamaru, I need your help with a plan of mine. You see..."

I explained to him what I wanted to do. That I wanted to start a company that would sell crops to the sand at a discounted price so that they wouldn't rely on imports. I told him that in the future, I would provide them for free, but that'll come when I become Kage.

"That's a great idea! But do you have any funds to set up such a system? I can imagine how complicated it would be to achieve..."

"Don't worry about the money. Here's a scroll with one million Ryō in cash. I need you to acquire seeds for crops essential to a village in bulk, and also hardware according to these designs."

Saying that, I reached for my pouch and gave him a scroll and some blueprints for the pipe-system. I would require about a kilometer-squared worth of pipes like these.

Hearing this, Yashamaru gasped in shock.

"One million?! How did you get your hands on so much money?"

"You'll know soon enough. For now please just handle these things. How much do you think it'll take?"

Still perplexed, Yashamaru responded to my question tentatively.

"Well, for the seeds, I should be able to get them in about a week. As for the pipes, that's a little more complicated, I'll have to contact a blacksmith company that'll accept such a huge project. I'd say about two or three months if we're lucky. If not, half a year."

"That's fine, I can work with that. Thank you very much!"

"Wait up! You still haven't ex-"

Before he could finish his sentence, I had already dashed out, leaving him to it. Yashamaru sighed in confusion as he thought:

'How did a kid do all of this? Am I dreaming?'
