Try as she might to avoid thoughts of an actual future with Carson, Ivy didn't think of much else over the break when she wasn't desperately trying to focus on her assignments or bedridden with pain. Her migraine meds had all but stopped working at this point.

She wasn't sure how she would even be able to get through the rest of the school year at this rate. Concentrating enough to pick answers out of people's heads was going to be extremely difficult.

She had to hold out a little longer! Just a little longer! Carson wouldn't let her down.

He had already texted her several updates about the status of the device he was working on. He thought he might be getting closer to getting the kinks out and wanted her to come over and try it again at the end of the week.

Seeing him again for the first time since Ivy realized she liked him was a strange experience. Her heart went wild the second she heard his thoughts as she drove closer to his house.
