After finding a place to stay, Bob started learning more about the people on it.
Naturally he met Luffy. The two of them became friends.
Bob did not interfree much with Luffy as he did not want to hinder the story of One Piece in anyway. Therefore he kept his interactions with Luffy to a minimum.
The two of them fought many times, with Luffy always ended up as the winner.
Bob had no idea how Ace won against Luffy without his devil fruit powers.
It's been 10 years since he last saw Shanks and the red haired pirates. Everything went just like the story, Luffy ate the devil fruit and Shanks jumped in to save him causing him to lose his arm.
Luffy also received his straw hat.
During these long 10 years, Bob met Ace a few times and Sabo as well. While the years have been long, Bob has been studying up on the store and coming up with different builds.
The system he had was basically a League of Legends store. There were so many items he could create, he could buy pieces and upgrade them into something else at the end. The only difference was the Ultimate tab.
Bob looked into that tab many times, but he was confused. The tab was filled with Summoner spells, such as flash, heal, ghost etc. However, there were also a couple odd spells as well, such as Bob's favorite Frozen World.
The description said it could cause anyone within range to be slowed by 100%!
How overpowered was that?
He had six gear slots that he could use to upgrade his power, and he could choose one ultimate skill.
This got his gears turning, and he came up with all sorts of combinations.
Theorycrafting was always fun as the possibilities were endless, but Bob knew he had to pick eventually.
Having enough store points was going to be his biggest issue, but luckily that problem was solved sort of.
With the 5001 points he had to start out with, Bob brought an [Amulet of Giving] which gave him 10-100 store points randomly once a day.
He's been making sure to use the effect of the amulet everyday, and saving up his points.
Bob studied tons of items, and came up with the perfect build that fit his skills as well as his passive. He had his sword mastery passive and his ascendance passive which increased his attack speed, so he wanted to boost is a bit more by adding items that gave attack speed.
As for his skills, he found that he could read a detailed explanation of each one if he asked for the details. All of them scaled with both AD and AP, but which one to go he was at a loss for.
AD stood for attack damage, basically it increased the damage of his attacks with his sword skills or any weapon.
AP stood of Ability Power, which increased the damage done by his skills.
He wasn't sure about AP in this world, but it had to have some affect.
His ideal build would mix attack speed along with both AP and AD items. But for now, he'd rather have AD as it would be more reliable.
It took him 10 years to save up enough points to buy his first real item, as such he couldn't waste it on testing out anything.
Bob rubbed his hands together and licked his lips as he looked down at his 32,630 points.
The item he was buying now cost him 30,000 points exactly.
[Black Death]
[+50 Attack Damage]
[+30% Attack Speed]
[+5% Movement Speed]
[Unique Passive - Soul Taker: After killing your foe absorb their soul for increased stats.]
[Souls Taken: 0]
[Note: After 50 souls are taken, Attack Damage increased by 10. After 100 souls are taken Attack Speed increased by 5%. After 150 souls are taken Movement speed is increased by 5%. All souls collected vanish at midnight.]
Bob saw the potential in this weapon when he first read its description. It would constantly be upgraded the more he killed. The only downside was that it would return to normal at midnight.
Bob quickly brought [Black Death] and a sword in a black sheath entered his hands. It wasn't a broadsword, but more of a katana.
Bob unsheathed it and saw the black blade, it was so mesmerizing that it drew him in.
"Bob! Where are you?"
The old man whose been taking care of him for the past 10 years called out. Bob was very grateful to the old man.
"In here!"
Bob yelled out and opened his room door.
The old man wobbled towards Bob and saw the sword in his hands. He didn't ask any questions though.
"You've been here for the last past 10 years, what do you plan on doing? I'm not getting any younger here, eventually this old body of mines will give out. You must have some sort of ambition."
Honestly, Bob was stupped. When he first arrived here, he was excited, and sad at the same time.
He was a NEET in his past life, but after living here for 10 years his personality started to shift. Looking at himself now, he couldn't believe that he was that sort of person in his prior life.
In this world there was many possibilities, but what did he want?
Become a pirate?
While it seemed thrilling starting his own crew, Bob knew he did not have what it took.
As for a marine, there was no way Bob would try to become one. Eventually he'd start to make money buy items and become powerful. Naturally his rank would go up as well, he'd be transferred from post to post and have to capture all sorts of pirates.
That seemed tiring, and not a life for him.
As for a pirate hunter, Bob was considering it. It allowed him to be free, and work on his own time as well as relax from time to time.
The other option was for him to join the revolutionary army, but there was no way for him to get in contact with them.
He'd have to travel to loguetown, where Luffy would eventually encounter his father for a brief moment. Even if he did go there and meet Dragon, there was no telling if he would accept Bob into the army.
Besides that, Bob could also just live a normal life here in the world.
"I think, i'll just travel around for now. See the world for what it's worth, maybe find some place to settle down."
The old man smiled, he had a feeling that Bob would not stay in this small village for much longer.
"When I make some more money, i'll be sure to repay you for your hospitality!"
"No need, but if you meet that son of mines tell him to visit me soon."
"OK!"
"Good! I had a feeling you'd want to travel out into the world eventually, so I had the craftsman make you a small boat. Should be good enough to take you to the next village or town. In the storehouse you can take as much food and water as you want, be sure it'll last."
Bob was brought to tears. This old man was really the best.
Bob gave him a big hug and said his goodbyes.
Down by the shore, Bob saw Luffy staring out at the sea.
"Luffy what are you doing?"
"Hmm? Oh, hi Bob! Just thinking how i'm the third one to leave. First Sabo, then Ace. Now its finally my turn. Hahaha, I can't wait!"
"I can see just by that look on your face. Well, have a safe trip."
"Wait!"
"Hmm?"
"Why don't you join me and become a member of my crew. I'm the man thats going to be King of the Pirates!"
Hearing those words Bob laughed.
Luffy had a big dream, one that would carry him far. Bob could care less for gol d rogers treasure. All the members of Luffy's crew had some sort of ambition they were carrying, if Bob joined he'd have nothing.
"I don't think i'm cut out for the pirate life Luffy. I'm just going to travel."
"Aww. But your strong! Almost as strong as me, together we can meet other strong people. Also, think of all the different food out there! Just thinking about it makes my stomach growl."
Bob laughed once more.
"How about this Luffy. If we cross paths on the sea later on and I'm not in a crew, or decide to become a pirate i'll join yours. What do you say?"
"Promise?"
"Yeah of course!"
"Yoohoo!"
Luffy jumped up and down.
Bob spent a few more minutes with Luffy before seeing him off.
Bob waited a few minutes before Luffy was out of his view before he went to his own boat. He push it in the water and put everything he needed on it.
