"Y-You are, that male clerk!!" Rikka recognized the young man among them and shouted in shock.
"You know that person Kisaragi?" Haruto asked. He also felt the man was familiar and realized it was the same receptionist he met when he arrived at the capital. But he didn't think Rikka would know about him.
"Yes, that person is seemingly that nobleman's personal attendant."
"No, he's not." Selianna denied Rikka's words.
"Eh?" She was confused.
"I was wondering where did he go all this time, but I see so he's observing us from afar is it? Bryan's Granger only son and heir, Wilhelm Granger." Selianna declared the identity of the man solemnly.
His son?
"Beside that, Wilhelm is also one of a Deva Knight of Filtrania. Just like her highness Luminette-sama." Selianna continued.
That made Haruto flabbergasted. A Deva Knight just like Lumina? That means....
"A Transcendent....?"
"Yes, he's not as strong as Luminette-sama but he's also one of the top fighter in our country."
"Hey hey you're using a wrong person to compare you know? That woman is a freak, unlike me."
Wilhelm opened his mouth and complained, having Selianna comparing him to the famous devil princess.
"But you said Bryan's heir? If he's a knight how would he inherit the household?" Haruto asked his confusion.
"That's because Deva Knight is 'special', they were free like an adventurer. Their only duty was to protect the country when they were needed. So there's no problem with him inheriting the Granger House as long as he responded his duty, of course he is free to do other things too."
"Yup, I even tried to become a receptionist at the guild, it was quite fun though, but I already quit." Wilhelm confirmed Selianna's words and said indifferently.
"You... at that time, what did you do with my blood?" Haruto asked Wilhelm warily. He remembered about that but he cannot do anything because HE'S the one who gave the blood willingly so he could only braced himself and see what happened.
"What did I do? Why don't you see your surroundings?"
"?"
"Of course it's to summon your lovely sister and that young miss there. Are you happy?"
"What did you say....?"
Both Haruto and Rikka there was stunned from the revelation. He looked at Rikka and finally grasped how both her and Asami managed to get into this world. So they used his blood as a catalyst to summon his relative from another world. He guessed maybe there's an artifact or forbidden spells for that. And actually he's not wrong. But then why Rikka came here too?
Rikka too was astounded to hear it was Haruto's blood that brought them here. Her face turned complicated when she knew that because at one side she was happy for meeting him again but at the same time she also missed her family back in Japan.
"Your face looked confused. That young girl there was brought along with your sister it was an accident, don't blame me for that." Wilhelm read Haruto's thought and explained.
"I see... But then what's your purpose coming here?"
"Of course, to clean up the mess here." the Emperor, Zelrigth answered instead and they turned their gaze to the lying man with face covered by blood.
"Y-Y-Yoush Mhahesty!! (Your Majesty!!)"
Bryan was so surprised from Zelrigth coming here by himself but he also glared at his son Wilhelm, it was obvious he was silently complaining for him to appear this late.
"Well I've got a lot of things to do, old man. So yeah, I can't help but be late." Wilhelm scratched the back of his head, noticing Bryan's gaze.
"Guh, I guess there's no choice you just that kind of person after all. But heheheh, now that you're here everything would be alright. (AN: He said this with muffled voice)" Bryan glared frustratingly but then grinned joyfully with a new hope on his side.
"Hmm, I guess you're misunderstanding something here old man."
"What?"
"We're not here to save your sorry ass." Wilhelm declared calmly.
"W-What are you talking about?" Bryan could not understand what he meant.
"Why don't you ask your dear Emperor here?" He said gesturing to Zelrigth.
"Oh, don't mind me, I'm just accompanying. The real one who had business is Reinard."
Zelrigth glanced at the man next to him, a middle aged handsome man with long blonde hair, the same as Selianna.
"Father...." Selianna's face turned complicated seeing her father appeared on this place
"This humble servant uttered his utmost grateful for allowing us to come here your majesty." Selianna's father, Reinard kneeled on the ground, not caring about his valuable clothes to get dirtied by the soil.
"Fumu, there's nothing to thank me, this was part of my duty anyway, raise your head." Zelrigth grinned and gestured them to raise.
"Father, why did you come here...?"
"Of course it's to bear witness of Bryan's judgement, Selianna." Zelrigth answered Selianna instead.
"Judgement?" She asked dumbfounded.
"Indeed, I already declared Bryan Granger as a criminal." Zelrigth nodded.
"W-W-W-What!?" Bryan was extremely shocked.
"The evidences of all your misdeeds in this twenty years had already been found. From kidnappings, plundering, assassinations, harrassments, etc. You've really done a good job huh, Bryan?"
"I-Impossible how could such...? D-Don't tell me..!! (AN: Still in muffled voice)" Bryan turned his head to his only son.
"That's right, Wilhelm had always been my spy ever since he became a knight, surprised?" Zelrigth grinned mockingly.
"Don't misunderstand, I'm just sick of seeing my old man smug face that's why I cooperated with you Zelrigth, I'm not your pawn." Wilhelm glared at Zelrigth but the Emperor didn't mind his insolent attitude because Deva Knight considered to be an equal level with his position.
"Oh dear, even though you're so cute when you're still young, time really flies." Zelrigth chuckled instead remembering how Wilhelm used to look him with eyes full of adoration many years ago.
"Actually Bryan, all of the evidences were already gathered some time ago but I decided to hold your punishment because you just told me something interesting kukuku."
Right, Zelrigth already intended to execute Bryan since a week before. Even Wilhelm needed a lot of time to find the evidences for all his father's crime since his father was cunning and cautious the evidences were hidden skillfully that's why it took this long, not to mention the number was tremendous too.
But then he suddenly appeared in the castle and explained about what he recently done, regarding Asami. Zelrigth already knew he found such artifact but he never thought the person brought by had such interesting power and background so he chose to wait and see.
And now already witnessing the interesting show, he was satisfied.
"So Reinard, why don't you finish your business quickly? I wanted to talk to that boy over there so badly hahaha" He laughed while turning his gaze to Haruto who's eyeing him with a poker face.
Reinard nodded and walked close to Bryan's sorry figure and stood above him right beside Selianna and Haruto.
"Stand back Selianna." He talked to his daughter.
"No."
"Why?"
"I too have unsettled things with him, please let me do this too, Father."
"....Fine."
Both father and daughter had a personal grudge regarding Bryan. For Selianna it was for the suffering her parents had all this time and also to have revenge on her friends and vassals who Bryan attacked and killed during his 'harrassment'. And as for Reinard it was for involving his daughter on their conflict with each other but as for right now he felt pity on his rival instead.
"R-Reinard....you damn motherfucker....!!!" Bryan almost went crazy seeing his arch-nemesis going to be the one put an end on his life.
"To think it had to end this way, I truly cannot regret anything more, Bryan. Did you hate me that much?"
"OF COURSE I AM!! EVER SINCE WE"RE LITTLE YOU ALWAYS LOOK DOWN ON ME! EVERYBODY ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU'RE BETTER THAN I AM!! DON'T BE SHITTING ME YOU FUCKER!!
"I never look down on you. It was your own perspective. *sigh* But I guess there's no use trying to convince you either huh, it's already too late. I cannot forgive you any longer."
Reinard picked up Bryan's head and raised his body to match his gaze. He then drew his sword from his waist and put it on his neck but another sword too did the same on opposite direction of his sword pointing at.
He glanced and noticed his daughter with the sword on her hand, he shook his head helplessly and smiled while nodding at each other. Bryan was still struggling like a madman, no he's truly already gone insane by now that's why he didn't even raise his magical barrier. So without further ado the father and daughter duo executed the deed.
*Slash*
Two slashes on opposite direction cut through Bryan's feeble neck at the same time. The nobleman's head flew through the air and dropped to the ground with Bryan's expression still full of madness. Thus signalled the end of Bryan Granger on his 157 years of life.
Selianna heaved a deep breath and plant her bloody sword on the ground while closing her eyes and made silent prayer to her late friends and vassals. With this she finally relieved of one of her deep burden.
Reinard just silently picked up Bryan's head and covered it with a loin of cloth before returning back to Zelrigth's place.
"Thank you very much your majesty." He bowed deeply.
"I told you it was fine. But with this one of my talented vassal had gone huh? How regretful." Zelrigth said but his face didn't seem regretful at all. He immediately grinned when he noticed the 'trivial' business was done but someone else hindered him from having his talk with Haruto.
"Haruto."
"Selianna?" Haruto was taken aback when he noticed Selianna approaching him with a strange glint on her eyes.
"Thank you very much. Because of you I can have a proper conclusion on my past grudge." She bowed her head deeply. She knew Haruto was the one with the hardest work from fighting against Ifrit and also from stopping that fearsome meteor attack of that flame beast. Without him all of them would surely died there.
"...Is that so. But you don't need to bow your head like that you know? I accept your thanks." He nodded and gestured her to raise her head.
"Fufufu you really are different isn't it? Normally someone would acted humble and tried to deny my thanks instead." Selianna chuckled.
"I don't think there's any point in doing that..." He didn't intend to be humble and refused her thanks. Why acted timid and denied when someone offered their thanks? Even he often paid his appreciation to someone and denying his gratefulness sometimes irked him instead.
Selianna smiled warmly at him and made a decision on her heart. Not only on this case, he even saved her life once before and indebted on him, even her recent promotion was caused by him. Just saying thanks was clearly not enough, that's why....
"Huh?" Haruto raised his eyebrows.
Selianna kneeled down on the ground while holding her chest with her hand.
"In regards of what you had done to me all this time. I, Selianna von Grehilde, swears that from now on until the end of my life, you shall be the master of me and my sword, and for you shall I offer my body and eternal loyalty. Will you accept my pledge milord?"
"...." Haruto, Rikka, and Kaori was speechless from the sudden declaration.
"WHAT!?" Zelrigth was extremely shocked. This girl, did she just offered her loyalty to someone else while he's in here?!
Reinard too opened his eyes wide he never thought his prideful daughter would say something like that to a young boy he didn't know of.
"Selianna, what about your duty as a knight of Filtrania?" He asked his daughter. The speechless Haruto too nodded his head from Reinard's question.
"I'll quit." She said indifferently.
"...."
'Seriously?' Haruto thought.
"So can I have your answer, milord?" Selianna asked Haruto for his reply.
"N-No, before that shouldn't you ask the bewildered Emperor there?" He pointed to Zelrigth who made a complicated face as if he was a husband that was robbed on his wife by another man. But he couldn't deny that the current development was also interesting.
"...Very well, I accept your resignation." In the end he accepted.
"Your Majesty?!" Reinard was shocked hearing Zelrigth's decision.
"But only with one condition and it's related to the thing I'm intending to talk to that boy over there. But not now, we've already waste too much time and it's time to go back. Boy, please come to my castle two days from now."
"...And if I refuse?" Haruto asked.
"Feel free to do so but I think you're should at least hear what I'm trying to say before deciding, boy." Zelrigth grinned.
Well he's not wrong. If it's just listening what he's going to talk then there's no problem. Who knows maybe there's something important. He just needed to prepare and be cautious when he visited later.
Zelrigth saw that Haruto accepted to visit him so he nodded and gestured to Wilhelm and also Reinard who still had complicated expression to leave the place. Wilhelm just nodded while Reinard followed Zelrigth quietly after hesitating for awhile.
Soon the three figured disappeared, leaving behind the five people there.
Selianna still kneeling on the ground and faced Haruto with her eyes, waiting for his answer.
Haruto was definitely in dilemma and he's not used being in this kind of situation so he's silently mulling while rubbing the back on his head. He glanced at his other companions there for their opinions.
Rikka just silently watching the two person with Asami on her arms, already passed to her by Haruto. She didn't know what their relation before so she couldn't say anything. But she thought if it's Haruto then he would make the correct decision.
Kaori stood there with exasperated eyes on Haruto but she shook her head and smiled wryly.
Both of the girls indirectly told him with their eyes that no matter what he decided they wouldn't object.
Haruto de~eply sighed and turned back his gaze on Selianna.
"You know that by following me there would be countless danger you know?"
"I know, and I don't mind. I prepared myself for that."
"You may not be able to see your family often you know?"
"I've never visit them that often in the first place and they also did not mind, I talk to my parents after this and convinced them if needed."
'Your father's face seemed complicated just now though....' He retorted in his heart silently.
"....If you had that much resolve then I see no reason to refuse but is there really need to treat me as your lord? You can just treat me as your companion just like the others."
"I cannot. For me being so indebted to milord, it's only natural that I treat you as my lord. And it's also my utmost wish personally, to become milord's own personal knight."
"Fine but at least don't use such stiff language okay? I like the usual you more."
"As you wish... Then is this okay..?" She nodded and said shyly.
"Sure, that's fine enough. Then welcome aboard Selianna." He smiled and reached out his hand.
"Fufufu, pleased to work along with you, my new master." She smiled teasingly and grabbed his hand. Haruto averted his gaze, being a little embarrassed.
With this he gained another companion who would join him on his journey. And then the seed of power deep inside his body too began to grow further like a sprouting leaf.
