Shots were fired through a chaotic battlefield. Thomas, as the battlefield commander, gave orders to specific squadrons as they began to engage the Alphas. Each soldiers bore a deep grudge against these creatures. Many had lost families and friends.
From the aerial view presented in front of Thomas, thousands of Alphas had gathered around a massive crater which the Parthian threat had recently created. Thomas Looked at the Alphas carefully as he had wondered how they would react to the Xuhan military suddenly appearing. The Alpha horde stayed in the same place as if they had seen nothing, ignoring the troops.
Thomas said in a low solemn tone to the troop captains already fighting against the Alphas, "Command the fallback and begin the trap formation."
Thomas made the troops fall back and watched as the alphas run after them.
The alphas began to thin as the faster ones ran to the front, still chasing the troops running from them. Just as the overconfident alphas were able to reach them, they were blown into bloody smithereens, and their copper began to splatter the ground. The cannons that were hidden before aimed at the approaching Alphas.
If the Alphas had been more confident or even more intelligent, they might have begun running away from the Cannons directed at them. But the Alphas were confident that even if a few of them died that enough would survive to kill the Xuhan soldiers quickly.
'The Xuhans might not be a war-mongering race,' thought commander Thomas, 'but we know how to develop weapons just the same. People will know why we are an Elder race to respect.'
The overconfident Alphas began to die like flies. The powerful energy cannons fired over and over again into the swarm of Alphas. Hundreds died, but there were thousands more.

Jake's light shrouded form began to dim before just a faint constant glow was left on his still floating body. As Jake descended to the ground, he stood naked with his tools and clothes destroyed. A Nafrite girl appeared before him, and as soon as Jake saw her, he hugged her fiercely.
Jake knew from Calvis that It was all an illusion a test to see his metal while he was still a mortal. Jake knew that he was now an emissary of Calvis or a member of his Pantheon. Jake didn't know what Calvis saw in him, but he understood what this meant for him. He now had an infinite life span to hone his skills and see his research come to fruition with his own eyes. Jake would be able to research infinitely.
Jake got what Xuhans lost their individuality to obtain. Jake was immortal like the Parthians. While Xuhan could download their consciousness, they could not be maintained that way alone, the only way to save their awareness was to merge them with others.
Jake and Talsia begin to talk about their tests. Calvis had revealed to her that her trial was loyalty and that Jake's test was one of perseverance. Since they both succeeded, Calvis had granted both Talsia and Jake a position in his Pantheon.

Thomas fights the Alphas.
Thomas knew that the cannons could not take them all, so the melee had begun. Energy weapons and guns were no longer effective against the Alphas and the Xuhans activated their mechanized battle suits. Armore covered the Xuhands as swords made from Vaxium steel appeared in the hands of all the soldiers camping behind the Cannons.
The Alphas were a thousand fewer covering the ground with their blood, but their minds were still unaffected by their losses. Alphas were born and bred war machines.
The Alphas broke past the cannon fire, and so the real battle began. The Alphas tore through the Xuhan frontline killing many of them in the process. The tide was turning against them. Thomas knew that now was the moment to strike. He ordered the elite teams still hidden in reserve to attack.
The elite team attacked the Alphas from the side, catching most unprepared. Using unique methods such as planting grenades on the Alphas and shooting the Alpha's eyes with pinpoint accuracy, they quickly began to turn the battle to their favor.
