Capítulo 21: Chapter 19: Farewell Letter
Feliciano opens the television the next day. He watches first the Atlantican News Network but was displeased with the news. He went to the local RTN-CBS news and was shocked on the news that he saw.
"Last night, the once leader of the Revolutionary movement the Reds was found dead in his apartment in Dublin, Scottia. Based on the autopsy, Roman Villamor died of heart attack. His health during the past years have deteriorated..."
Tears began to roll in Feliciano's eyes as he remembers of the things what his friend told him years ago.
"What am I to be remembered for?" He said to himself.
"Here I am being imprisoned for something that I have done." He sighed.
"My friend I may never meet you again. I hope that redemption may have come to you." He continued.
Feliciano refused to eat several days later and stayed on his bed for days. Crying and refusing to interact with his fellow inmates. He also avoids people and eye contact since then. Thinking of the folly he have done these years and the stupidity that he has done. He never get to see the funeral of his father nor apologized to his mother and his remaining family.
"I just wasted my life for nothing... eh?" He sighs once again in his bed.
One day, a letter was delivered to his cell which was sent none other than his close friend. It was dated January 31, 2021 C.Y., address was Dublin, Scottia, there he saw some pictures of him and the people he was with. There was a woman in her thirties and some people who are fond of him.
"Dear my friend,
Ka-Felix, how are you? I hear you still continue the movement in my absence. I wish I could have convinced you to stop and lead a new life. I apologize for dragging you into the mess I have been. I know you hated me since that day, during the Sinug festival, I guess that was on 1994 C.Y. Long before my health deteriorated a realization has come to my senses. Since then my conscience has been haunting me, whispering me of the devils and evils that I have done. My devices and the ambition that I wish to achieve in the expense of my friends and comrades.
I have been selfish have I? I cannot blame you, I am sorry for all the hardships I gave you. I am sorry for leading you into the movement and caused your life to be in constant jeopardy. I am the one who gave you this mess. I know you may never forgive me, but, I would like to say at least before my death, I am sorry, for everything! I do not expect your forgiveness but I just want to express this before my last breath. I am truly sorry, I hope this letter gets to you before you get captured and live with regret. I am again truly sorry...

Feliciano skipped to the last part and cried. "I forgive you my friend!"
He cried himself to sleep that night. The next day, the two military officials again visited him. Looking at his face he looks repentant.
"Are you willing to return back to the government Feliciano?" The Colonel asked him.
"Yes..." Feliciano replied to him looking at the floor.
"Very well, the death of Roman was unfortunate. He donated his remaining wealth to charity for the poor of this country. One of his requests before he died is amnesty towards certain figures of the Red movement including you." The Colonel said.
The Colonel and the Captain left after delivering Feliciano of the news.
The next few days Feliciano was freed from prison along with the people who were granted amnesty. Since that day, he never went back to the movement. Although there were those who still stubbornly continued the fight. Feliciano never looked back to his hideous past. Now, he continues his life as a businessman. Never again will he touch a gun in his life.
