Capítulo 17: Chapter 15: Feliciano Zamora
Camp Narcisco Labrador
Sugbu, Bisaya Region
August 10, 2022 C.Y.
1700 Hours
"As of 5:00 PM military spokesman Androlino Rodriguez said that the famed Ka-Felix also known as Feliciano Zamora. Once a well known scion the of Zamora industries was captured. He was caught after an intense firefight between government forces and the reds in Sitio Ocampo II, Sibalu Province in the Bisaya Region." The reporter in the TV said in her broadcast.
The old man Feliciano continues to watch the T.V. for the news. He sat comfortably in his chair in his cell which is separate from most of the inmates.
A stern looking man appeared in the Television as the broadcast continues and began to speak in the press conference and said, "With the capture of Ka-Felix, this made a huge blow in the morale of the Reds. The government's efforts in eradicating these bandits, lawless elements and terrorists in the region has been intensified. As you can see, the results is as what we see..."
"It's been a while since..." Feliciano mutters as he stares to the ceiling. He recalls of his life years ago before he joined the movement.
Feliciano was a businessman and a Tycoon who is the heir of Miguel Zamora one of the richest men in the country during his time. He was an achiever but had bad habits, it is his way in relieving stress as he expectations from his parents towards him are very high. On the day of his graduation in college. He gathered all of his courage to confront his father. He does not wish to continue his father's legacy in his family owned corporation. Rather, he wishes to become a lawyer and carve a path of his own.
His father does not understand that and he was again forced to follow his steps instead. A heated argument between the two then erupted after the graduation rites.
"Father, I am not anymore a child. I have a will of my own, I can stand on my own two feet. Why are you forcing me to follow what I do not love? I want to be a lawyer, please, at least... Grant me what I wish with my life for once!" The young Feliciano protested.
Years had passed Feliciano was not able to get what he wants despite rebelling and misused the company's wealth to his accord. He only wish for one thing and that is to be freed from his father's grasps and live his life. To him, he is nothing more of a drone. Wealthy yet empty at the same time. If only he could be set free from his chains and live the life he wishes.
He then decided to flee from the capital and disappear without a trace. He faked his own kidnapping and disappeared to the province. For years authorities are looking for his whereabouts. It was then that he was found out when a witness confessed of his whereabouts when his scheme was known. Because of this his father suffered a heart attack and he was temporarily put to jail.
Upon his release, he took some of his family's fortune and waived his rights to the company. He never seen his father die and continued his life years later. He lived in the province and started a small business where it was successful. He then let go of his dream of becoming a lawyer because of his criminal background and continued on his life until he met Roman Villamor.
Roman Villamor was a calm person, charismatic and influential. He is Mayor Capitan de Barrio or the head Captain of the Village. He lives a simple life and is well liked by the people. They were close friends and he never thought that Ramon is the leader of the Reds that time.
Oblivious to Ramon's real identity, he continued his friendship with him until the two became very close with each other. He never suspected his friend as a rebel and a revolutionary until a certain incident that changed his life forever.
It was on the 3rd of July 1982 when he found the real identity of his friend. Feliciano woke up when he heard a commotion from his neighbors at midnight. He looked outside from the window of his house. He saw a man dressed in military fatigue being rounded up by angry mob. They were holding torches and some were armed.
There were rumors that there were rebels that are lurking at the province. Worse, collaborators and spies against the government were also believed to have operated. Assassinating top government officials and soldiers. The peace and order situation had degraded. Military patrols were constant and rumors of abuses by government troops did not help alleviate the situation.
"This man and the pigs from the government. They are the ones who are traitors of the country, puppets of the Atlanticans and the Leondrians. We the freemen of the country know of their sins!"
The man's voice was familiar as Feliciano takes a look from his house on the second floor. To his surprise it is his friend Roman Villamor. He never thought that he is an anti-government militant that is rounding up soldiers. Doing the logical thing he decided that night to stay silent and went back to bed.
Since that night, Feliciano became fearful of his life. If anyone of the villagers know he was eavesdropping that night he may be rounded up like the soldier earlier. Feliciano must decide what he must do or he would end up being a dead man. Despite being a friend of Roman, he knows that even his friendship with him will not stop him from killing him.

Allen_Clay012 I apologize for not updating for a long time. I was busy with school and did not have the spare time to write. I am glad that I am able to find a time this sembreak.
