Tina grabbed Wendy's shoulders to calm her because she was continuously crying, "Paiming fainted? What the hell is going on??" Her voice was trembling as she asked with a pale face.
"If something happens to Siao. What should I do..." Her eyes were swollen and red due to continuos sobbing and she shivering with fear at the thought of losing Paiming.
Wendy was obviously not in the condition to answer any questions right now and mentioning Paiming to her was more bad so Tina gazed at the nurse behind Wendy, "Lady, do you know how Mr. Siao is?"
"Well, I don't know." The nurse replied to Tina and then held Wendy, "Miss Wendy you'd better get back to bed."
In the midst of all these commotion, a dim, manly yet gentle voice came from the door, "Wendy, why are you up again?"
Tina immediately looked back at the direction of the door and following her gaze Wendy also looked in that direction with her teary eyes.
When their gazes reached at the entrance of the door, a familiar face emerged from the dim lobby, it was none other then Paiming.
"Tina, why are you here?" Ming gazed at Tina and asked with a smile.
"Paiming, Wendy said you fainted, are you ok?" Her voice carried a sense of restlessness as she looked at Paiming while her heart was thumping heavily.
"I was scared yesterday, what did the doctor say?" Wendy immediately asked.
Paiming frowned for a moment as he couldn't say anything, his mouth was shut and his eyes carried a deep sorrow in them.
"I'm okay, I was infected with Wendy's Anemia!" Paiming put a smile on his and joked with a light smile.
"I'm not a bacterium!" Wendy replied his tease with throwing her punches at him.
They both laughed for a moment and then he suddenly carried her in his arms, "Wendy you are still sick, get back to bed."
It was unexpected for Tina. Any women could get jealous when her man is carrying another woman in his arms but she wasn't just jealous, her heart was in pain and not some minor pain but a deep one like breaking her heart. Tina didn't say a word and just looked at them from behind like an outsider who is looking at a couple.
Paiming gently laid her down at the bed, "Have a good rest, I'll accompany you all day." He gave her a warm smile while putting a blanket on top of her.
'Paiming....' Tina tightly held her chest, she couldn't handle the pain in her heart.
"Tina aren't you going back to work?" Paiming said in a cold tone and turned towards her.
She gazed towards the floor and replied him with an awkward smile, "Oh, I took a day off today.....I'm here to visit Wendy." In reality she came here to see Paiming but after all of this she can't tell him the truth and had to give him an excuse.
"You just go to work in a new place, taking days off is not good for you. I'll take care of Wendy so you can go back to work."
His tone was gentle yet it carried a sense of coldness.
She felt like she was talking to a complete stranger instead of the person she like.
She replied with the same awkward face, "You're right, I'm leaving." She turned around towards the door but before leaving she said some parting words to Wendy, "Wendy, have a good rest, see you!"
"Thank you for coming to see me, see you" Wendy replied with a smile from under the blanket.
Paiming took a peek at Tina's face before she left, her face quite gloomy and filled with sorrow and seeing her in this state made him very guilty and painful...
'Tina...'
'Sorry!' He said inwardly and memorized his meeting with the doctor yesterday.
Last night, at Doctor's cabin-
A middle-aged doctor wearing a mask and gloves was going through Paiming's reports with a serious expression as he asked Paiming, "Mr. Siao, how long have you had a headache?"
Paiming thought for a moment before saying. "For some time. Recently, I wake up every day with headache and nausea."
He paused for a moment, looked at Doctor's serious face and asked in a worried tone, "What's wrong with me doctor?"
The lines of the doctor's forehead deepened as he replied in a serious tone, "It's not entirely certain, judging from your symptoms, I can only say it's probably..."
He stopped for a moment and changed the topic, "Yesterday, we took an x-ray for you, and the results won't be confirmed until the report comes out three day later."
Paiming understood that the doctor was trying to avoid his question and not telling him about his disease, "Doctor, according to your judgement, what disease I got?" Paiming asked straightforwardly.
It's not like the doctor was avoiding his question but rather he was not certain about his disease but after hearing Paiming's straightforward question he replied, "Based on my experience, I think you probably got a...." He hesitated for a moment but took a deep breath and said the last word, "A brain tumor!"
"What?" He was taken aback with the doctor's answer, his face became pale, it was like his world has turned upside down as was trying to swallow down thus grave and shocking news.
"Don't be nervous, I'm just speculating. It'll be confirmed when the reports come out!" On seeing Paiming's sorrowful face he tried to comfort him, "The medical level is advanced now, you need to be confident."
Paiming gazed towards the floor as if he was already sure about his condition and said, "No I know..." He paused for a moment, thought about some sorrowful memories and continued, "My father died of this disease, just..." He just shut his mouth and said inwardly, 'I never thought, I inherited it. And it happened so fast...'
Back to Present -
Paiming mumbled to himself while looking towards her back, ' Sorry Tina....'
'Leaving me is the best choice for you..'
'As for Wendy....'
He gently put his hand on her face and said inwardly, 'You must learn to be independent quickly, because my time is running out..'
