The tournament is held the next day which gave me a free day today. I roamed around the school halls, looking for a place. I felt the earring shake and Kaala popped up.
"Kaala! We're still in school compounds!" I quickly hugged her and ran for the empty school courtyard. I heaved out a sigh and placed her down.
"Kaala, you can't just come out whenever you want okay? It's illegal to bring pets onto the school compound." I gently pat her head and asked her to sit under the tree.
I placed a marker on the ground before moving a few hundred feet back. Kaala's blue eyes watched me as I used a fireball to propel myself. I said the spell for Storm of Daggers, firing at the mark.
All of them hit the mark, but it was pretty pointless not practicing with an opponent. I sighed and sat down, thinking how I can do this. Kaala trotted to my side and gave me a lick.
Suddenly, magic dusts surrounded her as she changed forms. When the magic dusts disappeared, there stood a girl. That girl had the same snow white hair and electrifying blue eyes that Kaala has.
"Kaala, what's the meaning of this?" She pointed to the daggers and pointed at her.
"So... You want me to aim at you?" She nodded and I shook my head.
"I can't hurt a pet Kaala." She shook her head in silence and tapped my shoulder, magic dust flowing from her hands. Kaala then put out her hand, perfectly mimicking my signature fireball.
"You can have my stats?" She nodded and showed my magic right in front of me. I never realised, how bright my flames were. But they make me like a moth, attracted to the flame.
"Fine then. I need Kaala to move around okay? As if you're in a fight with me okay." She nodded and took her stand. We both started our mock fight by attacking each other. We exchanged fire with fire, creating a spectacle in an empty courtyard.
People gathered to see what was going on. A crowd eventually formed, surrounding the both of us. Kaala's flame was completely white whereas mine was a gray. Kaala eventually moved to the mark marked earlier.
I took this chance, propelling myself into the air. I threw some magic into my hands, drawing a circle in mid-air. Daggers appeared outside of the circle quick. I placed my hand to the target and yelled fire.
Kaala, who has my stats, dodged it fast. I dropped onto the ground, giving deep breaths. Kaala transformed back into a wolf too. She came over to give me assuring licks. I placed a kiss on her bridge and thanked her.
"Thank you Kaala, here's your treat." I snapped my hand to make a small box appear. Inside the box was beef jerky. I gave a piece to Kaala and she gave me a sloppy kiss in return.
"Kaala, let us go. There's too many people here." Kaala gave me a nod and followed me throughout the crowd. We soon reached the doors of the school and people were strolling into the school.
"Come back into my earring Kaala." She let's out a bark before placing herself in my earring. Her spirit within my earring made the earring look brighter than before. I strode in confident steps, proclaiming my presence amongst the crowd.
"Our Queen, nice to see you. Raymond asked us to escort you." The group of red-caped students stood in my way. I tried stepping by the side, however they don't give me way.
"It is not needed. Let me walk through." Their barricade was still as strong. Figuring this won't go anywhere, I let them escort me.
"What's this for? I don't need any protection." One of the guys coughed and spoke up.
"Master Raymond demands not a scratch to be on you. And you have been doing more scary things. Raymond wants to preserve your porcelain skin." I sighed and shooed them off, not wanting it.
I draped my white cape over me, not wanting to face the others. I closed my eyes, darkness enveloping me entirely. Memories started invading my sight again. My parents and I, smiling at each other.
"Lily! Come over to this lake!" A little me waddled to my parents, landing in their embrace. My father carried me as they made me see the lake. The same lake where I would find the earring and Kaala.
"You see that building there?" He points to the school building.
"That's where you would be attending school. Papa and Mama already put your enrollment here so you can get into this school in the future okay?" I nodded, not knowing what would happen.
"Now look at this lake, it's beautiful isn't it?" My father put me down and I immediately went into it. I held my small white dress up, looking at my own feet in the crystal like water.
"It's pretty Mama and Papa! The water is so clear!" They let out a harmonious laugh as they played with the little me in the water. Animals came our, seeing us play together. They eventually joined in the fun.
I felt an outside force shaking me which brought me back into reality. I blinked and saw a bit of sunlight streaming through my cape. My eyes were wet.
"Milady, are you alright?" A familiar voice called out. I grabbed my cape and hid my face.
"I'm fine, what's wrong Walton."
"Not really, people heard your sobbing and I thought I should be checking you out."
"I'm fine, you don't have to worry." I was not fine. Being trapped against my own wishes, nightmares of the same thing haunt me every night. This iron cage is something I can't break out of.
