One fine morning in the monastry there was a big meeting and everyone in the tribe was eagerly waiting for the coming of age ceremony. There were thirty six young individuals each of age thirteen are waiting for the Abbott of the monastry of the Turtle God. Every year this ceremony will take place and each individual of thirteen years of age will be participating in this ceremony to know their scope for the future.
As the time for the rites came the Abbott of the monastry, a grizzly old man with a hunchback wearing a long cloak, supporting his stopping body on a staff which was taller than him came slowly. The patches of wrinkled skin and his body language was fit for the Abbott of the turtle monastry.
The Abbott came slowly and stood in front of the large turtle shaped basin filled with water. He solemnly looked at the younglings in front of him and said," Let's begin".
On his command all the participants formed a line and one by one stepped forward to give a drop of their blood for the evaluation. In the line there was a young boy on whom the Abbot's eyes lingered for sometime. His name was Kaddal. He had an oval shaped face with jet black hair, fair skin and the most striking feature is his eyes as the pupils of the eyes were of different colour. Right pupil was golden yellow in colour like it was up of solid gold and the left pupil was deep black similar to a black hole.
He stood at the end of the line. Due to his wierd eye colour nobody wanted to be friends with him. But he was not completely devoid of friends. His friends were all the animals present in the jungle. Even the tribesman were astonished that he, a lonewolf alone can tame more animals than any skillful tamer than they ever seen. He was said to have a very mysterious origin.
As for the ceremony is concerned, each candidate's blood drop is added to the basin and is observed by the Abbott and the tribe head. As all the thirty-six blood vials were submitted along with their identification mark on the vial.
The Abbott carefully collected the vials and sent everyone away. Only the candidates are allowed to be there. The coming age ceremony was more anticipatory for the Abbott as he expected some good results especially from this year. The ritual began as the first vial's content was emptied into the basin the blood mixed with the transparent liquid and gave off a slight black glow. After sometime a vague picture of an a beast was formed.
Ofcourse, as expected it was a turtle otherwise it will be wierd if anything other than a turtle turned out. But there are classes among turtles ranging from one to five. The less the number the less are the impurities in the inherited bloodline and more brighter are the future perspectives like strength, abilities, talent etc. The first one to be tested was the tribe head's son. So his results came out to be good with a second class Olive Ridley turtle. But even then he was not satisfied with the results as his aim was to be at the level of his legendary uncle who was tested to be a first class star turtle.
The tribe head was satisfied with the result as the talent can be improved with a bit effort for the second class beast. The remaining were all almost third and fourth classes. Finally Kaddal's turn came the tribe head took the last vial and poured the content into the basin. For a moment there was no reaction. After sometime there were ripples created in the liquid in the basin. Then a light mixed with gold and black colour shone in the liquid.
This was the first time they saw such a wierd reaction. Seeing such phenomenon the Abbott immediately had change in expression. He knew this was the result of mixed bloodline and a pure one to the boot.
All the remaining candidates were eagerly waiting for a show to begin as the visuals were extraordinary. Finally a vague silhouette of a long animal was formed but none of the audience was able to tell what it was. The person in the spotlight who was Kaddal was stunned.
Finally after waiting for sometime the image of the beast became clear and even then nobody other than the Abbott and the tribe head were able to identify it. It was a legendary special class beast as it was a result of mixing of two bloodlines. It was a Long necked Draconic turtle.
In the whole tribe only the Abbott was clear about this boy's origins. Even the tribe head only knew that he was an orphan adopted by the Abbott. he knew nothing about the boy. As for Kaddal himself he was shocked by the result. Because other than his creepy different coloured eyes he didn't have anything special.
From the time gaining awareness about the world Kaddal was considered to be an introverted boy with good looks and wierd eyes. Even when practicing the martial arts of the turtle tribe which is all based on defense and less concerned about attack attribute, he was particularly good in attack and not remarkable on defence. He didn't understand why he was different.
The Abbott and the tribe head looked at each other and with a nod decided to end the ceremony. Even though the candidates wanted to know the result they couldn't ask the Abbott about it. As they were all leaving the tribe head's son looked at him with an anticipated look as if asking for the result of the ritual. But the tribe head chose not to reveal it. But he turned to look at the receding back of the young boy with complicated expression.
