Chapter 27: Father
"Devin! Devin! Are you ok?" I heard Shreya shouting as I snapped back into reality. "Devin, what happened? Are you feeling alright?" I stared at her, trying to figure out an explanation for I had just heard. "I met the Devil? And he claimed to be my father. I am confused. I don't even know who I am anymore. Shreya, what is happening? What do I do?" Her face lowered, a dark and ominous look crept over her face. Her eyes went blank, her mouth agasp. "I don't know, Devin. I don't understand what you mean. The Devil is dead. He was one of your fathers. You were to be the next in line to rule in his place. But you were to also eliminate the Dark Siders and restore balance to this world. We have to ask mother. I am unable to explain the situation." She said as she helped me up onto my feet.
"You wanted to see me, Shreya?" Mother Sophia asked in a concerned voice. " What happened to you two? It is almost as if you have seen a ghost. Devin, would you mind explaining the situation?"
"I can't. I don't know what..." i replied before I was abruptly cut off by Shreya's explanation. " He talked to Lucifer Morningstar. As in the now deceased ruler of hell. And I filled him in to the part about his duty to be the keeper of souls and the saviour of the world. But it seems I am unable to explain the phenomenon that you just heard. Lucifer Morningstar just spoke to him."
Mother Sophia hastily grabbed Shreya and I away from the others and in a hushed voice asked:"Are you sure? You spoke to Lucifer?"
"I don't know. All he said was that he is my father and humans call him the Devil." I quickly responded accidentally shouting. Mother Sophia cupped my mouth the instance I mentioned Devil, she scanned around worryingly. "Keep your volume down! He died just recently. No one is saying anything in order to keep the peace. The Dark Siders, the humans, Giants and the Angels will all go to war with the Demon Clan if they knew he is dead. He is the only one capable of fighting hordes of Angels and annihilate them in the blink of an eye. Has anyone, specifically demons made any form of contact with you?" Her voice trembling. I shaked my head and kept my mouth shut.
