I stopped and focused on the particular spot, which has a residual of aura.

There had been a battle here, but signs of it's been intentionally wiped out and quite thoroughly. If not for my special abilities, I wouldn't have been able to discover the faint bit of aura at all.

Someone had fought here against a monster.

It was a Sky Sovereign, a mid-level one with the signature of the energy to believe. 

It made me happy, but also serious. Ever since I appeared here; I have been searching for the man who had stepped into the gate before me; I had not found any sign of him.

It is likely that he appeared in a different place than me. 

The aura was three days old. It means whoever the person was, they did not come from the gate in the Ekulu forest. There are other gates and people here have come from them.

It had made me more cautious, but also relieved.
