Capítulo 6: Part Six
The next morning was nice and calm. I woke up next to Devon and it felt nice. I felt safe. I ended up slowly drifting back to sleep.
About an hour later I woke up to some flashes. I opened my eyes to see my mom and Devon's mom with their camera's taking pictures. I couldn't talk well still so I started to move Devon around to wake him up.
When he finally opened his eyes I pointed over to our moms. He quickly stood and said "mom, Mrs.Vell it's not what it looks like" and my mom said "aww you guys are so cute" and his mom said "yea they are".
I quickly stood up and put on my shoes grabbed Devon's hand. We both went out the window and climbed up the tree and went onto the roof. "You can't hide for long" Devon's mom said. "You have to come down sooner or later" my mom said.
I sat on the roof and Devon sat next to me and said "well that was awkward" and I said quietly "yea it was". "You know they are not going to get over this right" he said and I said silently "yup I know".
We stayed up there for awhile talking and decided to get off the roof. We both climbed down the tree and I climbed into my room and he climbed into his. "See you tomorrow and thanks for yesterday" I said outside the window and he said "no problem see ya".
I turned around to see my mom with the camera as her flash went on I was blinded. I said "really mom really" and she said "yup". I pushed her out of my room and locked the door. Throughout that rest of the day was boring and I just went to sleep.
The next couple of weeks passed in a flash since the incident happened. Devon has been really sweet since then. Bringing me stuff, hanging out and it was fun.
I woke up to a knock on my door. "Wake up Nikky or you will be late for school" my mom said. I slowly got out of bed, took a shower and got dressed for school. I grabbed my stuff and went downstairs,grabbed a green apple from the table and went to my car.
As I took a bite out of my apple and walked to my car, Devon was coming out of the house. "Hey Devon" I said "want a ride" and he said "sure". We both got in the car.
We turned the radio up and rocked out as we were driving to school. We got out of the car and walked inside the school. Brendan and Isa ran towards us and we all walked to gym. Isa and I went to the locker room and got changed into our gym clothes.
We walked in to the gym and saw a new girl. She looked familiar and I asked Isa "doesn't that girl look familiar" and she said "yeah she does".
I then I got a text from Devon. I opened the text and it said "I'll explain later but don't hate or kill me when I do this" and I texted him back and said "wym" and he replied "just don't hate me". I looked over at Devon as he started walking towards us.
When he got closer, he said "please don't hate me when I do this". I tried to ask why but before I could say anything his lips was planted on mine.
After a couple of seconds of realizing what was going on, I closed my eyes and started to melt into the kiss and began to kiss back. It was so passionate and I know it was supposed to be wrong,but it felt so right.
When we pulled away from eachother he whispered in my ear "please don't hate me I'll explain later just pretend to be my girlfriend for now" and I nodded and he walked back to the boys.
Everybody was staring at me and Devon, then Isa asked "what was that" and I said "I don't know, but I'll find out and explain it to you later".
Ms.Jackson and Mr.Daley then came in and said "okay everybody we both decided that for the rest of the year the boys and girls will be together .... next, we have a new student. Her name Charlotte and also today we will be doing flag football again same teams as last time. Charlotte you will be on the girls team. Nikky and Anaisa, you know where to go".
Isa and I went to the boys side and all the girls were staring at me. I stood next to Devon and he put his arm around my waist and pulled me close. I whisper to him "what the hell is going on" and he whispered back "Charlotte is my ex remember she cheated on me and i dumped her and she is trying to get back with me,but I told her I had a girlfriend" and I whispered "are you freaking kidding me" and he said "please don't hate me" and replied "I don't hate you, but you owe me big time" and he nodded.
We all huddled up and Devon told everyone what to do,but this time he included us. He put everybody in the their original positions that they play for football and he ended up putting me as his running back and put Isa as his line backer.
We all went to our positions and waited. Then Devon started and I ran to the other end zone and Devon threw the ball and I caught it. TOUCHDOWN!! Then we did another play and TOUCHDOWN again. We kept changing the plays and we kept getting touchdowns.
As the game was about to end, Devon made one more play. Charlotte was the one trying to block me from getting the ball,but Devon threw it to me and I started to run.
Charlotte ran after me and started to get closer and as she was about to take the flag from my waist I jumped up and she ran under me and ran into the wall. Then I ran to the end zone. TOUCHDOWN!!!
The whole team ran to me and high fived me and we all said "THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT" and laughed. Devon then hugged me and whispered "nice job with Charlotte" and I said "thank you. She deserved it".
"Alright girls time to get changed" Ms. Jackson said. Anaisa and I went to the locker room and as we were changing, I told her about everything and she kept it a secret. The only person she is allowed to tell is Brendan, but that's it.
As we were walking out, Charlotte came in front of us and stopped us. "So you're dating Devon huh. You know all he is going to do is dump you because he's going to go back to me" she said.
Who does this b**** think she is. I then said "oh yea well I'm sorry to disappoint you,but first of all he is not going to dump me for some slut like you and second of all if he was going to dump me then why did he give me this" and I showed her my hand that had Devon's ring on my finger that I had "magically" took off his finger without him noticing when we were hugging.
She was in complete shock. "How did you get that. He doesn't give that to anybody" she said and I said "well unfortunately he gave it to me and not you so if you'll excuse us we have to go so buh-bye" and we walked passed her. I can tell she was pissed.
The bell rang and we left the locker room. Anaisa and I separated and Devon caught up to me. "Hey Nikky have you seen my ring? I can't find it anywhere." he asked and I showed him my hand that had the ring on it and said "I magically took it off your finger when we were hugging because I knew Charlotte was gonna say something so I took it and put it on my finger to make our relationship look real" and he said "Wow. That's actually pretty impressive. She was probably pissed because she knows I never take it off" and I said "oh yea she was".
Devon then said "well it actually looks perfect on your hand" as he interlocked his fingers with mine and held my hand and I said "of course it does,but you still owe me for this" and he looked down at his feet and said "I know I know".
We walked to study hall holding hands and was greeted by Mr.Rice. "Hey guys. Just the people I wanted" Mr.Rice said and I said "what's up Mr.Rice" and then he said "I was wondering if you two can do something in the band room for me while I'm in class. I need you guys to put the chairs,stands and the percussion section in the auditorium" and we both said "sure".
Mr.Rice gave me his keys and a paper on how he wanted everything set up and said "thanks.You guys are life savers". We both walked to the band room and I opened the band room and the auditorium. We looked at the paper and set everything up just like on the paper.
There was a couple of minutes left in the period when we were done, So I locked the auditorium and band room shut and we walked to the classroom and gave the keys back.
"Done already" Mr.Rice said and I said "yup" and he said "well good job then" and he reached out near his bag and picked up two coffee cups that were filled with coffee. "Here is your reward guys" and gave us the coffee cups that were filled with coffee and we said "thank you".
When the bell finally rang Devon and I interlocked our fingers and held hands as we walked to class with our coffees. This happened for like half of day.
Finally it was lunch time. We both went to the cafeteria and I saw it was Burgers today. I became happy because I loved the schools burger. They tasted so good. Devon said "you want the burger don't you" and I nodded and he said "well then let's go" and I said "I was going to go even if you didn't want to, so you don't have to tell me twice" and I ran to the lunch line and he followed.
We both got our burgers and went to sit with Anaisa and Brendan. We sat at our table and I saw Charlotte sitting at the the table next to us with the mean girls of the school, but I didn't care about her and I just started eating my lunch.
As we were eating our lunch and talking ,Charlotte started to talk from the other table loud and said "Nikky maybe you should watch what your eating. You don't want to get any bigger because I know Devon only likes slim girls". I started to get a little hurt and mad, but I got back at her and said "well last time I checked he dated you, so you can't say nothing" and then Charlotte said "well at least I don't look like a fat ass heifer" and I replied "I'm sorry Charlotte. I'm trying my absolute hardest to see things from your perspective, but I just can't get my head that far up my ass".
That comment made her shut up real quick and everybody started dying laughing. She was pissed. She packed up her stuff and got out of the lunch room. "Damn" Brendan said "nice job Nikky" and I said "she had it coming".
