Capítulo 16: Summer Loving Had Me a Blast

Hearing Keres mention two doors. Hephaestus eye squinted which of course Keres noticed. As he was looking right at the goddess face. Well fuck it looks like she knows who that dam god is. He stopped talking letting Hephaestus mule on what he just told her. However in the back of his mind. He was getting ready to teleport just in case.

Keres was not wrong as the goddess was currently pondering on what Keres just told her moments ago. Yet the information was not as enlightening as she hoped. But rather made the fog of confusion over her thoughts thicker. The twins brought him here? Is he their child? That means one of them had actually chose a mortal? Wait a goddess can't bear a mortals child! Which god got to them again? Wait he's clearly not a full god. What is going on here? Taking a deep breath to calm her thoughts. She looked at Keres with eyes full of curiosity. His abilities are something she has never seen before not even in the old heroes of yore. Yet he hasn't been claimed and they allowed him to be part of my familia. What are they planning? Why didn't they reveal themselves to his soul? Too many questions let's see if he knows any more.

"So this being Keres has she spoken to you after you came into this world?"

What? She? The dumb gods voice was clearly male. Did the god wanted me to think it was male for some reason? Wait why bother changing its voice for me if this god did not want to be found out in the first place? It could've erased my memories after the first meeting or second. Unless Hephaestus-sama thought of another god? No she clearly thought of a female god when I mentioned two doors so that can't be it. Dammit i'm in the middle of some deities drama bull crap. I don't want any part of this. As much as I hate lying it's best to play it safe until I know some more.

"Ah no Hephaestus-sama. Ever since I have been in this world that being has not contacted me. By the way do you know who it was that brought me here?"

Keres replied with an innocent and bewildered face. Many years of living with his wife prepared him for this moment. Though of course Keres knew his wife always knew when he was lying. That's why he did not feel bad about lying to her. He mainly lied for the challenge of trying to get one over her. Overall he tried to live an honest life as much as he could. Curse you, you dam god for putting me in a situation where I most likely need to lie to survive.

Hephaestus sighed with obvious disappointment. Yet she was not down and out for too long as she just stretched and yawned. Sweet sleep has been eluding her for too long and she was eager to greet it. She just smiled at Keres and grabbed his shoulder as she bent down to look him in his eye.

"Don't worry about it too much. And since you're here I prepared blue prints for you to develop your smiting skill further."

Hephaestus lied with a smile on her face. She knew she told him she won't work him if he showed her something good. Which he did but she wasn't going to bring that up. Anyways her protege still had much to learn. She clapped his shoulders a few times to pump him up.

"Get to it. Your still a quite a few millennia behind in terms of experience!" She said as she walked away yawning.

The upper right corner of Keres just twitched into a smile. Normally he would've felt cheated but considering he did lie to her. He could at least help her out with some of her work. Chuckling he went towards the pile of blue prints he put down earlier and picked them up. He looked around for the skill books since they didn't appear when he made his choice to lie. He figured the god wouldn't just plop the books right there while Hephaestus was there questioning him.

He or she would most likely give me my books when it's safe. If not i'm going to do. . . nothing. Hopefully you don't screw me over o' magnificent god. Keres mulled to himself as he was making his way towards the workshop.

Making his way in he put on his smithing apron and gloves. He began to study all the blue prints one by one. After doing so he immediately began his work. Easily falling into a rhythm. Keres worked long into the night knocking out quite a few blueprints. Before he actually realized the time. Seeing that it was close to midnight he simply smiled. Grabbed a rag and wiped the sweat off his dirty brow. After cleaning his hands he put away all the things he was using and closed the shop. Walking home with the feeling of satisfaction from a good days work.

While yawning he stretched a bit as he was walking towards his room. My books haven't showed up yet o wonderful god. Let them be behind this door. Keres grabbed the handle and opened the door. Seeing nothing on the bed he looked the empty table. Entering the room he approached his last hope the chest. Taking a deep breath he opened it. The chest greeted him with a bit of creaking and moaning of the wood. When he fully opened the lid and looked inside an audible "pah" could be heard. Keres just slammed the chest in anger. Well then guess I'm assed out of some books. Taking a deep breath and exhaling quickly he calmed down.

Nothing to be done about it so no point in dwelling on it. He walked towards the door to close and lock it. Just as the *click* ended. Six books poured into his head. Ow. ow. ow. ow. ow. ow. Really right on my head you dick. He didn't bother to complain any further as he was already picking up the first book off the floor. He excitedly flipped open the cover.

Hopefully I get cooking so it becomes a C. Who am I kidding? What do I need cooking for now that I can just store food hot and ready. Give me a powerful skill!

**********

Meanwhile at the dungeon entrance. Urien was checking his list and frowned. It appears these three have yet to return. He turned to his co-worker Dren.

"Begin the seventy-two hours countdown for these three."

Dren took a glance at the names. He grabbed a pen and three slits of papers. He wrote the three names he saw and grabbed one large seventy-two hour hour glass. Placed the hour glass kn the three names upside down. The sands began to drip into the empty chamber.
