"Dobby, what're you doing here?" Harry said in amazement.
"Dobby has come to work at Hogwarts, sir!" Dobby squealed excitedly. "Professor Dumbledore gave Dobby and Winky jobs, sir!"
"Winky?" said Harry. "She's here too?"
"Yes, sir, yes!-"
"I'm sorry to ruin your reunion, but can we have that monologue later?"
Harry flushed in embarrassment before facing Hermione.
"So why did you take us here?"
Hermione gave them a beaming smile.
"When I came here to ask the elves a few questions, one of the questions were if they could cook anything."
"What did they say?"
Hermione gave a frown.
"They said they would do anything in order to please. . . . I'd wish for them have a bit more awareness about their own value-"
"Hermione."
"I-I'm sorry. So anyways, when I heard that they could cook anything, I asked them if they could cook banned meals?"
Harry was starting to understand where this was going.
"Are you saying. . . ."
"Yes indeed."
Harry, Ron, And Hermione all turned their heads to the dazed Arth who was soullessly bumping into the walls.
". . . . So we can finally provide turkey legs to Arth."
"Turkey. . . . Legs?"
"Sigh, what a relief. I was starting to miss the old Arth." Said Ron before raising an eyebrow at Hermione. "Why go so far for Arth? Weren't you two in really bad terms until recently?"
Now it was Hermione's time to flush.
"E-Er, don't mind the unimportant stuff. For now. . . . Dobby, could you cook us some turkey legs?"
Dobby gave a delighted giggle before giving a bow, with the hats on his head tipping dangerously.
"Anything for you Ms. Granger and Mr. Kingscrown."
Just as Dobby was about to start cooking, several other elves rushed to cook as well.
Dobby watched the sight quietly before sighing.
Harry couldn't help but laugh.
"It's ok Dobby we can talk more if you want."
Immediately revitalized, Dobby beamed at Harry. "That would be great sir!"
"How is life these days?"
"Dobby has traveled the country for two whole years, sir, trying to find work!" Dobby squeaked. "But Dobby hasn't found work, sir, because Dobby wants paying now! So Dobby and Winky came to see Professor Dumbledore, sir, and Professor Dumbledore took us on!"
Dobby beamed very brightly, and happy tears welled in his eyes again.
"And Professor Dumbledore says he will pay Dobby, sir, if Dobby wants paying! And so Dobby is a free elf, sir, and Dobby gets a Galleon a week and one day off a month!"
"That's not very much!" Hermione shouted indignantly.
"Professor Dumbledore offered Dobby ten Galleons a week, and weekends off," said Dobby, suddenly giving a little shiver, as though the prospect of so much leisure and riches were frightening, "but Dobby beat him down, miss. . . . Dobby likes freedom, miss, but he isn't wanting too much, miss, he likes work better."
Hermione was about to reply when the elves presented a platter of turkey legs.
