"Today is the day we beat you Milotic!" Daikon said loudly.
A black Dragonair roared in agreement, the red jewels on his neck and tail sparkled in the sun. His black scales radiated power as his body writhed with powerful muscles.
"Rooooar!"
Flygon let out a loud roar, angry that he wasn't the one challenging Milotic. Dragonair sent him a menacing glare that Flygon returned, not backing down.

Daikon approached his grandfather who was reading ancient looking book. "I have reached 99 cycles in my cultivation." Daikon said quietly.
Gerald looked up from his book, staring at Daikon from behind his book.
"Well…" he said slowly, closing his book and placing it on the ground. "It seems that you have. Do you want to learn the second stance right now?"
Daikon nodded his headed, eager to improve his cultivation. Gerald nodded and stood up.
"Watch carefully."
Gerald started performing a series of complex but fluid movements that pushed the body to its limits. Stretching and twisting in ways that Daikon didn't think his body would be able handle. After a few minutes Gerald finished the second stance and faced Daikon.
Daikon's brows knitted together, trying to remember all the movements that his grandfather showed him. After a minute of silence, Daikon started to move, mimicking what his Gerald did a few minutes before. The movements seemed awkward and forced at first but after repeating them 3 times, they finally seemed to get smoother. Gerald left Daikon practicing, walking away with a smile on his face.
For the next few days, Daikon practiced the set of movements of the second stance. Gaining a better understanding of his body and the limits of it.
'The second stance is so much harder than the first!' Daikon thought, frustrated. The first one he learned almost instantly but he had been practicing for 3 days and still hadn't mastered it.
Daikon decided to take a break and do the first stance. The movements were natural and fluid, able to be performed on muscle memory alone. Going into a trance, Daikon emptied his mind and let his body move without thinking. Losing track of time, this stance continued for a while and he didn't see his pokemon had returned from training and gathered around him, looking at his curiously.
Without realizing it, he had started performing the second stance but with much smoother movements. Finally, Daikon finished the second stance perfectly. The second he finished, a loud crack resounded throughout his body. The 99 cycles of draconic energy rotated in his body at high speeds causing Daikon to let out a groan of pain. Slowly a 100 cycle of energy formed, completely filling his body with energy.
Daikon concentrated and tried to remember what his grandfather told him.
'Compress it.'
Ignoring the pain, Daikon focused on his body and compressing the energy. Slowly but surely, the dragon energy all started to focus into a single point in his body. A small black gem, no bigger than a thumbnail was starting to form in the middle of his chest. The gem grew darker in colour as it absorbed all the energy in his body but didn't grow in size.
Finally the transformation was complete and Daikon collapsed to his hands and knees in exhaustion. Gerald seemed to appear out of nowhere and picked him off the ground.
"Congratulations on advancing into the Dragon Core realm." he said proudly with a large smile on his face.
"Dragon Core?" Daikon asked between breaths.
"All the energy you absorbed from your dragons has been compressed into a single point of your body called a Dragon Core. Close your eyes and feel the changes in your body."
Daikon, did as he was told as closed his eyes. Deep in his body he saw a black sphere. Daikon watched it and was surprised to find that it was releasing a small amount of energy into his body.
Opening his eyes, he looked at Gerald confused.
"Your Dragon Core will release draconic energy into your body without subconsciously. So your draconic energy is always strengthening your body and ready to be used. As the core grows bigger, the amount of energy released grows larger." he explained. "Now quickly call your dragon pokemon over and send some energy into them."
Daikon, confused, still did what his grandfather asked and called Dratini and Vibrava over. He gently placed his hand on their hands and sent draconic energy into them. Dratini purred with pleasure but Vibrava grimaced in pain but didn't pull away. A sudden white light enveloped Vibrava, causing Daikon to be shocked.
'He's evolving!?'
Slowly the outline of Vibrava grew taller and wider, a pair of wings sprouted from his back and a pair of arms with sharp claws in the end.
[Flygon, the mystic pokemon. Flygon is nicknamed "the elemental spirit of the desert." Because its flapping wings whip up a cloud of sand, this Pokémon is always enveloped in a sandstorm while flying.]
Flygon resembles a slightly insectoid, bipedal dragon. It is primarily light green and has a pair of large rhombus-shaped wings with a red trim, toeless hind legs, and skinny arms with three-clawed hands. Its tail has several dark green stripes and three small green rhombus shapes with red trims at the end. It has large eyes, and a pair of green antennae that point back. The eyes have red covers that prevent sand from getting into its eyes.
Daikon was overjoyed with Flygon evolving. The little Vibrava was weak but trained harder than any of his pokemon and he hoped that now that he evolved he would be able to unlock that potential. Daikon also noticed that the red marking on the wings were darker than usual.
'Is it because of my black draconic energy?'
Before he was able to think about it, Dratini let out a happy cry and started to rapidly absorb Daikon's draconic energy. Placing both hands on Dratini's head, Daikon let his energy flow freely into Dratini causing to break out in a cold sweat.
'Surely this greedy guy won't empty me completely, right?'
Though Daikon was worried, he continued to pour his energy into Dratini. Finally a familiar white light surrounded Dratini, showing that he was evolving. Daikon who was in shock, looked at his grandfather who was smiling at him.
Dragonair is a long, serpentine Pokémon with black scales and a grey underside. It has a rounded snout, oval red eyes, and a small, grey horn on its forehead. On each side of its head is a small, stylized wing, which were grey and curves into a swirl at the base. Three red, crystal orbs adorn its body: one on its neck and two on its tail.
[Dragonair, the dragon pokemon. Dragonair stores an enormous amount of energy inside its body. It is said to alter weather conditions in its vicinity by discharging energy from the crystals on its neck and tail.]
Daikon stared at the beautiful pokemon before him and gently stroked the soft wings on the side of its head. Dragonair let out a happy cry as he leaned into Daikon's hand. The pokemon was over 4m long from head to tail.
Seeing this, Flygon knocked Dragonair out of the way and placed his head under Daikon's hand.
Seeing this, Daikon laughed loudly and petted Flygon. Soon Dragonair tackled Flygon and started to fight. This was the beginning of a rivalry.
…
Remembering that day, Daikon could only smile fondly. The two dragons were constantly bickering and fighting for Daikon's attention but it lead to them training hard to be able to defeat each other. Flygon was currently pissed that Daikon choose Dragonair over himself to battle Milotic.
Daikon was leaving tomorrow and he wanted to bring Milotic with him in his travels. He grown fond of the kind pokemon and was impressed by its strength.
Dragonair wasted no time and used Aqua Jet to attack it. Milotic quickly used Twister to cancel Aqua Jet out but Dragonair used Dragon Rage, sending it through the Twister towards Milotic.
Milotic's tail started to glow as it used Dragon Tail and slapped the Dragon Rage away with ease. Seeing this, Dragonair grew angry and used Dragon Tail himself, slamming it at Milotic's head.
Milotic met it head on, using Dragon Tail again. This caused a shockwave that caused Daikon's hair to flutter. Dragonair was pushed back, losing the stalemate. No discouraged, he used Dragon Breath quickly, surprising Milotic who used Water Pulse to defend. The two attacks collided and caused some dust to obstruct their vision.
Dragonair used this opportunity and launched another Dragon Tail at the unsuspecting Milotic. It was a good plan but Milotic was ready and blocked the attack and sent him flying, crashing into the ground.
Daikon signed and called Dragonair back. Though his pokemon had grown tremendously, it had only evolved a month ago.
"Thank you for the battle Milotic. It will be our final one for awhile as we are leaving tomorrow." Daikon took out a blue stone and gave it to her. "A water stone, it should help strengthen you."
Milotic looked at Daikon before looking at Espeon by his side. It let out some beautiful cries, talking to Espeon. Espeon nodded her head and took a pokeball out of Daikon's backpack.
'She wishes to join our team.' Espeon told him, placing the pokeball in his hand.
