Capítulo 51: Chapter Fifty-One

"For eleven years you will serve directly under me and if your service is satisfactory I will release you from the contract once the years are up. Once you agree you will no longer be a maid, but a guard by my side."

Su Lou's body started to shake excitedly, however she kept quiet seeing that Meng wasn't done speaking.

"There is a catch of course. The eleven years under me won't be as peaceful as you would think. During the years I can use you in whatever way I want. From experiments to body shields anything is on the table. Also, with good reason you will have to sign a soul slave contract with me."

Meng seemed relaxed as she said this, however in truth her entire body was tensed. She didn't fully wanted Su Lou to serve under her and if it was a few days ago she would of never thought about it.

However, the facts were she really didn't know anyone else and Su Lou's emptiness resonated with her own before she found Feng Qi.

Also, with Feng Qi's mental health quickly deteriorating, Meng didn't have a choice about speeding up her growth.

Closed cultivation, that was at first used as a way to avoid Feng Qi, now became her best option.

There was still a lot to learn before she could protect her idol and only a short amount of time before the emperor started to make moves. If Emperor Ru took his time like in the books it would be best.

Meng internally sighed at this thought. However, she provoked him instead of going with her original laid back white lotus plan. He was threatened by her relationship with Feng Qi, making it again with out a doubt her fault.

The self blame in her heart ended with Meng glaring at herself in the mirror. If she was still reading Defying Moonlight from the outside she would really hate this person right now. The mirror started to vibrate before a sharp crack went through it.

Meng's eyebrows jumped up in surprise before realization came upon her. Quickly, she withdrew her inner energy from the air and back inside of herself.

Once again it was proven that she still had a lot to learn when it came to cultivation. After all, continuously killing people would even lead to her horrible reputation getting outside of the castle. If that happened, wouldn't she have a short time before she ended up gettin pushed out of the kingdom?

Giving herself one last killing glare in the now broken mirror she turned back to Su Lou to see that Su Lou had stopped shaking. Her emotionless face had changed to one with her mouth left hanging open.

Once Su Lou noticed that Meng had turned back to her, she quickly hid the horror on her face.

Why did she think that as long as she quietly avoided Princess Meng she would be able to live peacefully? How could she forget that Princess Meng was utterly insane. Even being around Meng could led to her death!

Inside Su Lou felt very pitiful about the situation.

No matter what path she took it would be hell. The only difference is that the hell under Princess Meng would only last eleven years. A light grew in Su Lou's eyes when she thought about it.

If Meng released her after all of those years wouldn't it be enough time to grow stronger and take revenge? The fighting spirit was reignited inside of her body.

"I swear loyalty to Princess Meng!" Su Lou declared her decision loudly to the world. She might regret it, but hope was worth the pain.

"Heh."

A hopeless sigh left Meng's lips. Never mind being empty like her, it seemed like Su Lou was made up of 70% greed and 30% human.

Too much greed in her to die out, yet after going this far Meng couldn't back out now. Su Lou wasn't perfect, but wasn't this the perfect chance to practice her teaching skills? Internally making a fist pump, Meng's eyes glittered as she looked at Su Lou.

How could she not know what Su Lou's was thinking? It was far too simplistic when it came to soul contracts. If Su Lou still had devious thoughts toward her after eleven years, she could easily just kill her off using the soul slave contract.

Soul slave contracts are hard to break and extremely dangerous to disobey.

Once one became a slave they would have to give up their soul to the person creating the contract. Their soul wouldn't leave their body, however the contractor will have a direct link to it. One thought could torture the slave to the point of insanity or even kill them.

Soul slave contacts were known as a forbidden art in this world because of its control over people. It isn't surprising that Su Lou wouldn't completely understand it. As a good person she will make sure to educate her on it after it's done.

"Mmm. Let's form the contract then."

Meng gave Su Lou a happy smile as she held out her hand. When Su Lou took it, Meng closed her eyes.

"Focus on your soul space. When you are in contact with it circulate your energy toward the hand holding mine." The clear instructions entered Su Lou's ears.

Meng didn't have experience on soul slave contracts, but saw it happen a lot in the book. Thankfully, it was a simple process if the person had weaker cultivation than your own.

In Meng's soul space, she finally caught sight of Su Lou's soul. The glowing white ball of energy floated into Meng's hand before taking the form of Su Lou. The energy burned her hand as if trying to reject her.

Watching this, Meng couldn't help murmuring to herself. "Fascinating."

The longer she stayed in this world the more connected to it she felt. It was undeniable that she didn't have a connection with her own world and every time she left her apartment it became clearer to her to the point that she was scared of the truth and stayed inside of it.

Yet now, maybe because of Feng Qi or maybe because it was magic, she was finally interested.

Tactically, Meng wrapped her spiritual energy around the rebelling soul. Su Lou's soul burned brighter in an attempt to break free. The light from the two souls fighting was blinding.

Meng was surprised. Su Lou was only a level two martial cultivator, but her spirit was this difficult to subdue? No wonder this is a forbidden art. If Meng was even a level weaker, the process could have killed both of them.

The light started to die down as Su Lou soul's energy started to run out. Meng unwrapped her soul around it to prevent it from fading completely.

It was completed. She could feel the contract with Su Lou's soul giving it an almost tangible feeling.

Unlocking their hands, Meng guided Su Lou's left over spiritual energy into her hand. She opened her eyes and leaned forward, pressing her finger against Su Lou's forehead. The energy left her hand and entered back into Su Lou.

"You can open your eyes now." Meng ripped up the slave contact in her hands. "You are now my personal guard if anyone gives you trouble you are free to come to me."

Su Lou had use to her as of now, there was no reason to treat her badly.

Therefore, if you catch any grammar issues don’t be afraid to be a grammar nazi, I’ll be happy to have you regardless! I will try to release 8-10 chapters to make up for my absence.
