Hearing the support he receives from the officials and noble clans that his advisors managed to persuade, Liu Bei lets out a victorious smirk that only Kuai Liang notices and feels weird when he sees it. While acting recognizing the urgency of the situation, Liu Bei decided to make a public declaration to formally announce his intention to assume governance of Jing Province.

Hearing what Liu Bei said, both Kuai Liang and Kuai Yue cupped their hand and told Liu Bei that they would draft the letter of announcement for Liu Bei, and will give it to him the latest tomorrow morning.

Liu Bei nodded his head and told the two of them to take their time, right now they needed to focus on pacifying Xiangyang and its surrounding area, for declaring his intention formally it could be done at a later date.

As the scene shifted to Xiangyang's Southern Gate, the clash between Cai Mao's forces and the advancing troops led by Guan Yu and Zhang Fei intensified. Despite relentless attacks and strategic maneuvers supported by Ju Shou's tactical expertise, Cai Mao's defenses held firm, thwarting every attempt to breach the gate.

Recognizing the critical importance of their mission, Cai Mao and his men fought valiantly, willing to endure significant casualties to buy precious time for Liu Biao and his party to escape.

For Cai Mao, protecting Liu Biao was not only a matter of loyalty but also essential to safeguarding The Cai Clan's interests, particularly given his sister's marriage to Liu Biao.

Despite the mounting casualties and relentless assaults from Guan Yu and Zhang Fei's forces, Cai Mao remained steadfast, determined to hold the line and ensure Liu Biao's safe departure heading to Jiangling.

Far away from Xiangyang, at the Sun Clan's Capital, Lie Fan was reading information concerning the event occurring in Xiangyang from Jia Xu, who received the information from the oriole in Xiangyang.

As Lie Fan absorbed the information provided by Jia Xu, he couldn't help but marvel at Liu Bei's unwavering determination and resilience in the face of adversity. The unfolding events in Xiangyang revealed a glimpse of Liu Bei's relentless pursuit of power and his ability to adapt to challenging circumstances.

Intrigued by Liu Bei's strategic maneuvers and the political landscape of Jing Province, Lie Fan recognized the significance of these developments for the broader landscape of the land, as it once again changed the flow of history he knew.

Despite the chaos and uncertainty, Lie Fan couldn't deny the ingenuity and tenacity displayed by Liu Bei as he sought to carve out his own domain, he is just like a cockroach who can't die with numerous times of being hit or a cat with nine lives.

After that Lie Fan asked Jia Xu what he thought about Liu Bei, as Lie Fan wanted to know what his number one advisor right now thought of Liu Bei, as maybe he have his own insight which could be used by Lie Fan in facing Liu Bei in the future.

Jia Xu answers Lie Fan's question by saying Liu Bei is an opportunist and a very great actor with a very high rhetorical skill. He managed to manipulate many people into believing his lies, and people who believe in what he said, would find it hard to look past all of his lies to see his true self.

Jia Xu could evaluate all of this because he sees Liu Bei from an external point of view and with his expertise in human interaction, and he believes that not many people could be like him even top class advisors so that's why he could receive the help of Ju Shou, Kuai Liang, and Kuai Yue.

Lie Fan listened intently as Jia Xu offered his insights into Liu Bei's character and tactics. With a thoughtful nod, Lie Fan acknowledged the complexity of Liu Bei's persona and the skill with which he navigated the political landscape.

As Jia Xu highlighted Liu Bei's opportunism and adeptness at persuasion, Lie Fan couldn't help but marvel at the depth of his manipulation and rhetorical prowess.

It was clear that Liu Bei possessed a rare talent for swaying hearts and minds, a trait that set him apart from many of his contemporaries, which could make him become one of the best warlords in the future creating the Three Kingdom Era and could stand side by side with Cao Cao and Sun Quan.

Reflecting on Jia Xu's assessment, Lie Fan recognized the formidable challenge posed by Liu Bei's charismatic facade and the difficulty in discerning his true intentions amidst the layers of deception.

While Lie Fan and Jia Xu having a conversation about Liu Bei, back in Xiangyang, Cai Mao decides to retreat and head to Jiangling to meet with Liu Biao and his party who are already headed there first, thinking that they have given Liu Biao and his party more than enough time.

As Cai Mao's forces began their strategic retreat toward Jiangling, a collective sigh of relief swept through their ranks. The toll of the relentless assaults and mounting casualties had taken its toll on morale, and the prospect of regrouping provided a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos.

Under Cai Mao's decisive leadership, the retreat unfolded swiftly and efficiently, with soldiers moving in a coordinated manner to ensure their safe passage.

Meanwhile, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, eager to press their advantage, sought to pursue Cai Mao's retreating forces. However, Ju Shou intervened, urging caution and emphasizing the need to pacify Xiangyang before further engagement.

As Guan Yu and Zhang Fei heeded Ju Shou's advice and refrained from pursuing Cai Mao's retreating forces, they took control of Xiangyang's Southern gate, solidifying Liu Bei's hold over the city. With this decisive move, Liu Biao had truly lost control of Xiangyang, marking a significant shift in power within Jing Province.

The retreat of Cai Mao allowed Liu Bei's forces to pacify Xiangyang, a development that brought a sense of accomplishment tinged with sorrow for the loss of Liu Biao as his brother.

Though the victory was bittersweet, Liu Bei maintained a stoic demeanor, concealing his inner joy as he addressed his supporters. This touched many people's hearts, except for Kuai Liang who have begun to be somewhat suspicious of Liu Bei.

Days passed, and as the new year dawned entering the year of 197 AD, Liu Bei made a bold announcement, declaring himself the new governor of Jing Province shaking the land that still celebrated the dawn of a new year.

In his proclamation, he cited Liu Biao's descent into tyranny and his unwavering commitment to protecting the people of Jing Province from oppression.

He emphasized that his actions were driven by a sense of duty and justice, and he garnered support from Liu Qi, Liu Biao's rightful heir, who had been unjustly stripped of his succession without valid cause.

As Liu Bei's proclamation resonated with many commoners and some noble clans, stirring emotions of hope and admiration, others remained skeptical of his intentions.

Among the skeptical warlords was Yuan Shao, who dismissed Liu Bei's words as mere deception, attributing his rise to opportunism rather than genuine concern for the people.

Meanwhile, Ma Teng and Han Sui remained focused on their own conflicts, paying little heed to Liu Bei's political maneuverings. Liu Zhang, however, took a more critical stance, condemning Liu Bei's actions as a violation of imperial protocols and an affront to the dignity of the Han Dynasty.

Shi Xie didn't care about what happened between Liu Bei and Liu Biao concerning Jing Province, as he was still facing his nephews Shi Hui and Shi Wu who rebelled and carved their own domain from his land.

As for Cao Cao, Lie Fan, and Sun Ce, they didn't have any response whatsoever and were incognito. Lie Fan and Sun Ce only talked about Liu Bei as a big threat and determined to uphold their alliance against Liu Bei.

On the other hand, Cao Cao held a meeting with his advisors, and during the meeting, Guo Jia and Xun Yu both suggested that Cao Cao attacked Liu Bei while maintaining their defensive line in the north against Yuan Shao.

This idea was also supported by Cheng Yu and Xi Zhicai because they also received information that Yuan Shao halted the preparation to invade them due to Gongsun Du being defeated by foreign forces.

Cao Cao hearing this nodded his head and agreed with his advisors, as this could be a chance for him to expand his domain after so long because after expanding west, there was no other place to invade especially to the east where Lie Fan was very strong.

Despite the mixed reactions from the other warlords, Liu Bei's bold assertion of authority marked a pivotal moment in the political landscape of Jing Province and the land as a whole.

Liu Biao who was in Jiangling was angered by Liu Bei's declaration, condemning Liu Bei for his trickery and betrayal of his own kin, usurping his position through arms, and spreading lies about him.

As the shockwaves of Liu Bei's bold declaration reverberated across the land, Lie Fan and his family decided to return to Xiapi after spending some time in the Sun Clan's capital, including the New Year festivities.

The news of their departure was met with melancholy by Sun Jian and the Sun Clan, who had come to regard Lie Fan and his family as integral members of their own. Sun Ce, in particular, felt a deep sense of loss, having received invaluable teachings from Lie Fan as both a warrior and a leader.

Lie Fan expressed his gratitude to Sun Jian and the Sun Clan for their hospitality and support during their stay, reaffirming the bond between their families. He assures them that although they must part ways for now, their friendship and alliance remain steadfast.

These words were received happily by Sun Jian and Sun Ce because this meant that they would be safe from Lie Fan's expansion, at least for the next couple of years because by Lie Fan's words, he had another target in their mind.

Wannian and Sun Shangxiang who received the news that Lie Fan and his family would return to Xiapi were very sad because they liked playing with each other and even being taught together in martial arts by Lu Lingqi.

They begged both Lie Fan and Sun Jian to allow Wannian to stay for a couple of months in the Sun Clan Capital, but both Lie Fan and Sun Jian disagreed because if something ever happened to Wannian while staying with the Sun Clan, it could strain the relationship between the Lie Clan and the Sun Clan retainers, so they disagreed even if their wives tried to persuade the two of them.

This isn't a matter of conscience or that they don't love their sister or daughter, but a large political landscape was put on the table so they don't want to take any chances.

This decision of course resulted in both Wannian and Sun Shangxiang being angry at their brother or father, ignoring them until the day of Lie Fan's departure back to Xiapi alongside his party.

The separation was filled with Sun Shangxiang's cries and Wannian's muffled cries, causing both Lie Fan and Sun Jian to have a headache but there's nothing they can do but leave their sister or daughter alone for some time.

Sun Ce cupped his hand toward Lie Fan, thanking him again for coming to his enthronement ceremony and staying with them to celebrate the new year, and hoped that in the future he and his family could repay the favor.

Lie Fan let out a laugh and told Sun Ce that it wasn't a big deal and that he was happy to accept his invitation, also the time he spent here with his family was a great one filled with many memorable memories, and that he would wait for their visit.

These words caused Sun Jian who stood on Sun Ce's side let out a laugh as well, patting Lie Fan on the shoulder and telling him to not regret his words, as they would definitely visit him.

While the main characters were talking and laughing together, on the side Wannian and Sun Shangxiang who had calmed down were holding hands and promising each other that they would take turns visiting.

Lady Wu and Lie Fan's wives see the interaction between the two and smile at the pureness of adolescents, not knowing about the harsh and hard reality they live in which gives people watching their interaction a warm feeling.

As for Zhao Yun and Ji Ling the two of them were talking with Zhou Tai and the Sun Clan Veteran generals, as they have bonded over the course of Lie Fan's stay in Sun Clan's Capital.

Exchange of experience and martial arts happened between both sides during the stay, where both Zhao Yun and Ji Ling gained the respect of the Sun Clan Veteran generals, Zhao Yun for his talent at such a young age, and Ji Ling for his honor and loyalty.

As for Zhou Tai, he was also impressed with the two of them but more focused on Zhao Yun. He never expected to encounter such a talented young general who could fight against him and be even stronger than him.

He thought that only Lie Fan as the youngest general of this generation he couldn't stand up against, and he could be so sure due to the aura that Lie Fan had, which intimidated him and he knew that he only felt like that if the person he encounter he cousin beat in his lifetime.

Now he realizes that he was just a frog in a well, and that's in the land there are many crushing tigers and hidden dragons, talented generals that haven't been uncovered, or biding their time for the right moment to make their mark in history.

A lesson for him to be more cautious and not be as hot headed as he was currently, Zhou Tai doesn't realize that this encounter with Zhao Yun helped in shaping him to become the Zhou Tai that served Sun Quan in the original timeline at a much faster rate.

After the exchange goodbye was made, Lie Fan's family and Lu Lingqi alongside Lady Yan embarked on their carriages and Lie Fan also mounted Pangu his horse, left the Sun Clan capital, and began their journey back to Xiapi.

First, they headed toward Yuzhang spending around 3 weeks before arriving at Yuzhang and embarking on Lie Clan's Navy ships, and then headed to Guangling where they spent around 3 to 4 days sailing.

When they arrived at Guangling, Sima Lang was there to welcome them once again and prepared a banquet for Lie Fan and his family, Lu Lingqi, and Lady Yan.

Sima Lang's gesture was welcomed by Lie Fan, who decided to stay for a day at Guangling so that his family, Lu Lingqi, and Lady Yan could enjoy the banquet with peace of mind.

At the banquet, Lie Fan and Sima Lang were having a conversation alongside Jia Xu, Sun Qian, and Chen Qun with Sima Yi listening to their conversation as Lie Fan's page, standing on Lie Fan's side while enjoying some delicacies that were given to him by Lie Fan.

Lie Fan: "Hah thank you Sima Lang for this banquet, this helped my wives to take care of my children who were cranky and feeling a bit under the weather due to us sailing here to Guangling, and helped Wannian cheer up a bit after leaving her best friend."

Sima Lang: "It's what I should do My Lord, good advisors not only could advise their lord in delicate situations but also shoulder the weight of his mind, and I'm happy to do so because if not for you me, my younger brother, and the rest of my family wouldn't enjoy a peaceful life."

Lie Fan: "Haha! Well said well said! Looks like Wenhe and the others perfectly teach you, a great mindset to have not just in serving me, but in serving your family as a whole as you were the head of the household, and the matter of your family is what I should do as the friend of your father."

Jia Xu: "My Lord why talk about such a sad topic, how about we change it to a more conversational one like the matter that you wanted to talk about? Concerning some technological advancement you wanted to make?"

Lie Fan: "Ah yes Wenhe thank you for reminding me, the truth is I have created a new accounting method that I think will help improve our economy and trade system! And I also managed to gain some interesting schematics from an ingenious scholar, who I bought it for some expensive sum I tell you!"

Chen Qun: "New Accounting method made by My Lord and some interesting schematics? My lord your talent and luck know no bounds! If we may, can we look at all of this, especially the accounting method? While I wasn't an expert on this matter, I think both Master Jia Xu and Sima Lang could represent Mi Zhu in such a matter for now."

Chen Qun's word was met with Lie Fan's agreement, who took out a book about the accounting method which he already put his name on even though it was a bit shameless but who doesn't want to make his mark in history, and some scrolls about the rewards he received from his quest.

Receiving the book from Lie Fan, both Jia Xu and Sima Lang read the method and soon were astounded by the ingenuity inside it, since it was a far easier method, and had some base structure that helped in not just counting money but other things and could be learned by everyone easily.

As for Chen Qun and Sun Qian, the two were reading the scroll containing Salt Evaporation Pods Schematics & Techniques and Sugar Making Techniques which astounded them in many ways.

If both of these schematics were implemented correctly and the technique used was correct, Lie Fan could dominate the salt and sugar trade in the land, not just dominate but have a sole monopoly of both commodities.

Lie Fan replaced the Han Dynasty who still held control over the salt and sugar trade, whose income was received by Cao Cao due to his controlling the Emperor as his puppet enriching him.

Sima Yi who heard the gasp and saw the surprised expression of his elder brother and teachers, was curious about what caused them to react in such a way because in his eyes these people would never be surprised by anything, especially Jia Xu.

Seeing the curiosity etched on Sima Yi's face, Sima Lang called for Sima Yi to stand near him so that he could read the book, and when Sima Yi finally read the book he finally knew why everyone well Jia Xu and Sima Lang acted in such a way.

When they finished reading the book or scrolls in their hand, both sides swapped and read the content that was inside the book to the scrolls, which surprised each of them once again.

Lie Fan seeing the reaction of his advisors and future advisors, smiles calmly while taking a sip of the tea in his cup. He knew that the technologies introduced would definitely improve some qualities in life and also empower his force to become more powerful.

After the initial shock was gone, admiration was left inside everyone there who then praised Lie Fan solely for the accounting method he had created, and the schematics and techniques he managed to take hold of.

Lie Fan waved his hand and asked them about the probability of success in implementing the method, schematics, and techniques in their current situation.

Jia Xu as the more experienced and ingenious, told Lie Fan that for the accounting method, the probability of success would be between 80% to 100% while for the Salt Evaporation Pods Schematics & Techniques and Sugar Making Technique, it would be around 60% to 65%.

The reason was it was a completely new method and that from what he read, there were some methods or techniques as well as some building parts or materials that were hard to make or create.

Lie Fan nodded his head in agreement with Jia Xu's evaluation, he also had the same thought as Jia Xu and now Jia Xu's words confirmed that he wasn't wrong, so Lie Fan said that they could continue studying the two schematics for now.

As for the accounting method, he feels that they should implement it as soon as possible starting in Xiapi as their testing site, and if it proves to be successful then it would be spread to all parts of his domain and even be put on the curriculum of Xiai's Academy, to teach the bright minds that managed to enroll in the academy of this new method, and tho receive agreements from all of his advisors.
